 A new anime of the Danganronpa franchise was announced today at the Danganronpa Project Announcement Event. The new series, titled Danganronpa 3: The End of Kibougamine Gakuen (Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak Academy), will have a completely new story set after the Danganronpa 2 video game and will air in 2016. | "set after the Danganronpa 2 video game" well that is just great for those of who have only seen the Anime *sarcasm* I know the Anime gets bashed compared to the games but I got some enjoyment out of it and I'm curious to see where it goes next but I'm not exactly running out to buy PSP/Vita? to play the second game, or hell even the first to see why its "better". Guess I won't be watching this, maybe I just just find some Let's Play on YouTube for the games but that is just not a thing I do. |

| As a person who hasn't played the games, I actually really enjoyed the first anime adaptation, so I guess I'll watch this. But I wonder if I can even watch it, since I never played the second game. |

| So everyone complained about how the game is so much better and the anime is shyte and stuff. So they make an anime that is not based of the games and everyone complains that they didn't do it....If they DID do the second game I bet most people would complain about it saying that the game was better.... I like what they're doing. This will technically be original so people can't complain (at least say the game is better) and it DOES take off of the second game but honestly....I don't think people would HAVE to play the second game to understand. They'll probably have references from the second game but so much that people wouldn't understand. I mean (danganronpa 2 spoilers) |

| Cool, but I'd be much more hyped for a DR2 adaptation. I can't lose hope for animated best girl Ibuki just yet! Anyway, still super hyped. Is this an adaptation of the 3rd game or a completely anime original story? A bit confused on that part. |

Looking at the key visual, it seems the anime is going back to the original cast from the first game so I query whether there is need to know the second game beforehand. | Really excited for this eventhough they skipped D2. I'm on the hype train right now. I love the game, however D1 wasn't well paced in my opinion. Hopefully this one can picked it up, and perhaps turn into a series :) |
