Feels like the butterfly is also some foreshadowing too.. Very bizarre start though:  This is going to be a dark ride. Also kinda liked the ED theme song. |

EDIT: Finally watched the episode and as I expected, my body was ready and boy did this episode deliver I came into this expecting a great horror/mystery series and that's exactly what we got. So far I like our main trio of characters and I feel like they play well with each other....Also, Lerche saving budget by blanking out everyone that isn't important lol The OP and ED were both great as well with the animation being pretty good too I didn't realize it until now but the murder scene kinda reminds me of a crime scene from the TV show Hannibal which is a huge plus in my eyes |

| DAnggg, love the OP and ED song already. This is very visually artistic tbh, love the use of the greying colouring of characters, its like accumulating suspense and can be definitely utilised really well in the later episodes. It also kind of shows how Kobayashi's life is changing from a monotonous and tedious one into one where interesting people begin to appear into this adventure of mystery. |

I'm pretty much desensitized at this point but if I were to rate it out of 10 I'd say 4 on the scary scale and 5 on the gore scale. Might get scarier and gorier later on but this is just first episode impressions. Also that Nakamura detective really makes me think of adachi from P4. |

It should be more mystery than horror anyway, since Edogawa Ranpo is, like, the Japanese Conan Doyle and I'm interested in it because like Detective Conan, this anime is inspired by Edogawa Ranpo's works! |

Though I will admit that the start felt a little bizarre but then again it is supposed to have an odd feeling about it since it is a mystery/thriller. Though the mystery is interesting and i am curious on who actually did the murder and how Kobayashi ended up in that situation. |

| Hmm, this was an interesting first episode. The mystery itself is grotesque yet interesting, the main character is intriguing despite (and maybe because of) his seeming oddity and I'm really liking the way this episode played around with visuals. It seems like quite an unusual choice to have characters greyed-out until they are important, but it's pretty cool and interesting. I probably need another episode or two before properly judging this, but it seems promising so far. Also, that OP is excellent, one of my favourites of the year, and I quite like the ED as well. |
| I really liked how it started especially when I started watching it without even reading the title. The only thing that I can and will complain about is the idea of MC. If they already made him look like a girl, sound like a girl and behave like a girl, what is the point of making him a boy? (sure you can say because it's anime, but I would probably liked the series a little bit more if that was the heroine) Still, the fact that he is a psycho does help though so in the end I did like him nevertheless. |

Okay episode but not sold on the show yet. 3/5 |

| Really liked the first episode. Kobayashi is such a trap... But I like how he is kind of insane. The whole setting is kind of ridiculous but I like it. |

| I love this anime's genres. I just hope with my whole heart they don't screw it up sometime down the line. Pretty decent first episode. Opening song was just my kind of heavy. |

| Not bad, sticking with this becasue I trust Seiji Kishi and Lerche. Loved the atmosphere created by the OP/ED, direction, and OST(specifically the scene in Akechi's house). |

You are confusing, Akechi is the protagonist MC in both the anime as in the novel, Kobayashi is the heroine and Deuteragonist. It is quite clear in the matter related to the anime that came out in Newtype. Yes Kobayashi is a boy so much in the novel as in the anime. Hashiba is triggered the worst character this season Damn that most annoying character this Hashiba, is triggered the worst character of the season, totally bland, boring, annoying a total shit |

| Wow, this was good :O...Other than the draw a girl call it a boy TRAP BS!!!! JUST WHY OTL!!! I'm loving Kobayashi. He's friggin broken. The scene when he was told he'll break and he said he wants that was WTF O_o How non-chalant and excited he is for this impossible game is insane. All 3 detectives seem like awesome characters too. And those human chairs looked messed up. Loved the OP and ED a lot too <3 |

For example, the main protagonist is a little bit off on this episode, but he pays attention to the details and we can tell he is going to have a lot of clever moments. Kobayashi's friend is the righteous type of characters, so he will try to find a fair way to get the results and help his friend to not end in prison. Akeshi on the other side is like the nemesis, he has all the other characters well defined (except for Kobayashi for sure), He is the smartest character so far and will have to get surprised by Kobayashi at some point. Kobayashi is like a sadist version of Naegi Makoto in my opinion. |

| That was actually surprisingly good. Great OP, great ED, interesting characters (at least Akechi and Kobayashi), great atmosphere. I think I'm gonna like this show a lot. |

| It wasn't bad, but I didn't like two things so far: The MC is really weird, he basically doesn't give a fuck about anything and just wants to "have fun", the other characters are way more interesting, especially the detective. I don't like how they did the background characters. It would be fine if they didn't actually talk, but it's a bit weird seeing a gray body talking. When they showed the dead teacher I thought it was a doll... I don't know why but that didn't really looked human. Aside from that it looks really interesting. OP/ED are ok, not really my style. I prefer Tokyo Ghoul root A's ED over this OP. |
| Kobayashi is the Nagisa of this season. Not only he's a trap, but their personality is very similar too. Won't really be surprised if he actually committed the murder somehow. New homeroom teacher Hanabishi is a goth loli who seems to have been through some terrible experience, judging by those scars on her wrists. Her backstory must be a messed up one. Those human chairs were quite creepy.. I like how fascinated Kobayashi was while looking at them. It kinda feels like they're trying hard to make him look broken. Interesting start nonetheless. Hopefully it will become even more so by each episode. OP and ED both are pretty decent too. |

| Man, this is awful. The MC is way too annoying with his attitude. And why the hell did they make him a trap? Ahh, I'm kinda interested in the crime and the real killer though, I think I'll give it a few more episodes. |
