| Yeah wasn't to bad, in my opinion the post arabasta filler arc was the worst arc though. But this episode made me hungry lol. Always watching Sanji cook, makes me want to run down to the fridge and grab something to eat lol. |

| Yummy episode!! :P One of the better filler eps, but any Sanji solo time/development is pure win!! Being he's my fav character besides Luffy ofc! That kid own'd that curry, I was half expecting the Captains to be like...meh! lol I've actually made Japanese style curry b4, but this added a whole new perspective. I just used a random recipe I found online, but I'll have to try it this way. Especially how he marinated the beef, I didn't think about using yogurt as a base for the marinade, but for curry or any other stew like dish it would be perfect! Totally pawn'd the Naruto Curry Fillers!! Urahara Out!! |

| This new ED might be my favorite thus far. Anyway, these fillers are pretty nice. I like the character-focused side-stories they're doing, and it's nice to see some single-episode stories every now & then. |

| As out of place this comfy filler was on the grand line I must concede I enjoyed it. Apart from the elongated cooking scene where it repeated Taijo almost making a mistake, Sanji giving him a tip, him fixing it too many times and it spent too much time on him actually adding individual ingredients and such, it was good. I use good loosely, but as a break from the long and constantly moving One Piece arcs it was. First thing I want to mention is how Nico Robbin saved Taijo from falling and then Chopper tended to his wounds, and Sanji gave him a meal to make him feel better. We hardly see Nico Robbin do anything so it was cool seeing her play a part in what happened, but moreover this opening showed us three of the Straw Hats talents in synergy so I appreciated that. I am however against these fillers happening before Nico Robbin is characterized since the dynamic and interactions between the Straw hats and Nico feel unnatural as no one knows her yet. I think Taijo parroted Sanji a little too much, he got the exact same advice from his chef about why he's been only washing dishes, the fact the two were made to wash dishes for such a long period of time before being able to cook, and his life goal being the All Blue. If this is common practice and the only real coincidence is the dream of the All Blue I take this back, but it felt too on the nose while watching. And even though Taijo is a complete filler character, probably to never show up again, seeing the impact Sanji left on him was touching. Not only was he able to stay on the ship with Sanji's guidance, but he also has a role model, and has had an adult who he admires tell him that his dream isn't stupid. All that and maybe he's also lost his hatred for all pirates. Even if we never see him again I'll imagine he'll become a good cook in Sanji's footsteps. Last thing I wanted to mention was something I thought of when Usopp got mad about Luffy and Sanji 'breaking Kaya's ship'. It made me realize... we know the importance of every scar on their bodies, whether it's the one Luffy gave himself as a kid(although I may be recalling this as a manga detail), or Zoro's Mihawk scar, we understand where their weapons came from whether it's Nami's weapon Usopp made, Zoro's swords he bought because one was cursed, Usopp's slingshot he's used since he was a kid, we know where their hats are from with Luffy's straw hat coming from Shanks, and Chopper's hat coming from Hiriluk(maybe even Zoro's and I could be forgetting currently), and we even know where their ship is from, it's from Kaya and they got it from the Khaladore battle. The reason I'm saying all this is because I think it's one of the things that makes us so close to the Straw Hats. We've seen their journey up to this point, and we know exactly why everything is in place, we know exactly why they act the way they are, why they use what they use, and what their resolve is. This is a detail I've only ever since in One Piece to the degree it is done. Last last thing, Nico Robbin contrasting her lack of a family in her childhood with the Straw Hats being her new family, or at least that's how I interpreted as she wakes them up to watch the stars with her after reminiscing on that in the ED feels out of place. I wish we had it after we got to know her a bit. That being said I suppose you can consider foreshadowing. |

| It was fun seeing the step by step process of making some rockin' Japanese Curry and I really enjoyed Sanji giving all those subtle hints to the kid. I'm very excited to see All Blue soon! The new ED is here and it's pretty good but I don't really like how it ends so abruptly at the chorus. |

| Seems silly that the Navy chef would entrust someone that's never successfully cooked a curry to make one for such an important occasion. lol. Still a cool episode.. Luffy made me laugh as usual and Sanji is such a cool dude when he's not acting goofy over women. Just wondering when Robin is going to come out of her shell and bond with the crew? I'm guessing she'll play a big role in the upcoming arc and will truly become their nakama. |
