Ouch, being labeled as a criminal is never a good thing. Hiro's life just took a nose dive.

On the other hand, at least he has someone like Reona to trust in now. On the other hand, Alicia is hilarious to watch. She has the look of a yandere although portrayed mostly in a comical manner. Still amusing though if you ask me.

What infamy has Hiro self-inflicted himself with: the Besto Friendo Killer has to live in the supposedly-named realistic RPG Kiwame Quest with the fairy Reona as his help and guide...more like he's stuck with her forever.

Alicia turned into a yandere childhood friend killer alright with the intentional comedy, but holy wowsers is she a persistent revenge taker against Hiro who killed Martin, plus those titles.

"It's just a game" Hiro says, but even his younger sister Kaede chided him in playing games for a hobby. But still, Hiro's interactions are still hilarity comedy, and meeting birds of a feather like Ginji who did the same spree of killing the Best Friend NPC.

Hiro definitely needs people he can get on his side to live in this wretched game...but first, escape from the betrayals of the heartless.

Nah bro this shit is genuinely hilarious. When Alicia went yandere psycho on hiro and started chasing him I lost it. This feels like dendrogram and Konosuba mixed together which is a combo I never knew I needed. Reona is also a great partner and waifu. I’m excited for where this one goes

Is Hiro really a gamer? Why he dissatisfied with realistic gaming? Is he just a casual gamer, not hardcore gamer?

Goddamn, Alicia's yandere mode is quite hilarious yet scary. Being Hiro must be tough right now. I can't imagine having everyone in a town trying to find you. Reona is once again very supportive of Hiro. She even saves him! I can't believe that Ginji really snitched on Hiro in a casino full of people. I can't wait to see more of this show!

Hiro is just getting straight violated everywhere.

He's a wanted criminal in game and his best friends are either dead or want him dead.

Irl all his friends and family think he is weird for playing games, and is even bullied.

Now in game, he finally cuts a break and finds Ginji. Just for him to be baited out to the whole casino as the killer.

This gave me the chills lol, Alicia's seriously bad news. She's gone nuts and she's out for blood. I wouldn't play a game like this even if I was getting paid to do it. Kaede's cute and I'm pretty sure she's worried for her bro.

Man, the voice acting on these one really top-notch. I can't stop laughing when the mc started shouting all over the place to cursed that kuso gemmu. The yandere part, tho, omg i am so death right now xD. Idk why but its settled pretty fast. I am fully aggree with you, Hiro, its so shit! Since the game really crap with the idealism, they kept throwing the best twist as possible as they can. Even the supposed savior/helper also turned you down immediately. Lol.

However, the good part of these, they also touched much to the mc real life, which is a nice break to see the real progression of Hiro development. More importantly with how different he interacted with the surroundings. Can't wait to see whats the real role of his imouto too, honestly. Anyway, the player heartless already set the goal to Hiro. Someone already beat the game. Thats pretty sick. Now i am truly curious to see the next episode.

The mini recap gave me the feeling that I wasted my time watching the last episode. It was perfect lol

Fun first half, but probably not that much for people who can't stand loud anime charas

Also Ginji = alternate timeline Daru after killing Okabe and Mayuri

Title of the next episode sounds promising

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of Ginji as an older, evil Daru after seeing him, lol.

Hiro is adorable but I hope he has some character development. He needs to take revenge on Ginji and the bullies. >:) Wow Alicia is a yandere. Didn't see that coming. That was both hilarious and terrifying.

Good episode with a hilarous ending : this is really a shitty game !
He's really a gamer for trying again after all this (if you throw 100 bucks to buy it, it's a bit comprehensible though).

A question that emerge : wiil he dare to kill his childhood's friend like Ginji (probably not) or how will he escape her obsession, it's like the 1st boss of the game!

My only question is how do people see gaming as “out of fashion and juvenile” in the future, especially in Japan? It’s literally taking over the world as a perfectly normal hobby and competitive sport in our era it makes no sense I don’t buy that I’m sorry lmao

I didn’t like this episode nearly as much as I liked the first one. It was mostly just the MC whinning and screaming while running from the childhood friend or learning more about the game.

I see literally no reason for him to go back into the game after he left. If he is just miserable and fears for his life every time he plays, then why would keep doing it?

Once again I have to thank Reona's fairy avatar.... GOD DAMN SHE'S THICC!

Now... another great episode! Seriously, I wasn't expecting much from this show but I'm having a lot of fun so far. It reminds me of what happened with Kemono Michi and Shinchou Yuusha where people were more excited for the show from the author of Konosuba but Shinchou Yuusha ended up being way better and the same thing is happening this season lol.

About the episode... what a shitty game! xD. I mean, it has some pretty cool stuff but at the same time it's too much.

You can't reset the game so that's one less doubt. The titles you acquire are completely useless but quite hilarious I must say, including Alice's one who is completely crazy, understandably though. Imouto is tsundere af. Reona is so best girl and of course Ginji is scum.

There were some interesting stuff in that chat like Ginji talking to someone Hiro can't see, so I thought it was someone like Reona but he said Hiro will see it soon hmmm. Different NPCs for each player, the mysterious player who completed the game and also the fact that you need to train your body in real life to beat the game, excuse that I guess will make Hiro go back to training like the old days.

The title of the next episode is interesting as well....

As a former gamer myself I can say that it's probably because most people today, especially older ones, view video games as counterproductive. Even casual gamers will say this. Playing games is fine and all but if you don't prioritize it probably it can have a very negative effect both on your character and on those around you, which is what the MC's friend and little sister were getting at. From what we know the MC is spending far too much time playing games than trying to develop as an individual, which is why he keeps getting bullied and taken advantage of easily.

There's a big difference between those who play games for fun and those who play it because they don't want to face reality. The latter is understandable but there are some who take it to far and are shunned from society, which is what the MC is slowly becoming. It's a problem all of us nerds face be it gamers or anime fans.

Lastly, the video game industry isn't what it used to be 15-30+ years ago. Back then being a gamer was exciting because you could always expect something new and innovating every single year. Nowadays it's just become another way to pass the time. Almost every game I've come across is virtually the same. I'm not saying there isn't any good game out there any more but very few have actually caught my attention.

I'll end this by saying that I used to play games a lot when I was younger but over time I've pretty grown out of it because too much of the industry has changed and it just isn't worth investing in it as much as I used to. It won't stop hardcore gamers from buying every single product out there and that's perfectly fine, but for the rest of us older people it's just become a trivial, if not juvenile, thing now. I'm assuming you're young at the moment and that's great, but when you reach your 30s you might be thinking the same thing at some point in your life.
"You talk too much. Think too much."

"If you're not going to be nice to me, don't expect me to be nice to you."
"I'm a soldier, not a superhero. Don't ever think of me as one."
"The world doesn't revolve around you. Get that through your thick skull."
"People who live by their emotions go nowhere in their lives. They only find misery.
"If you don't like the way your life is than do something about it instead of sitting there feeling sorry for yourself."

I like how Alicia went from a nice, caring person into a yandere, where you didn't give her the attention or something she wanted and completely snapped. I also got the impression of Sans from Undertale, not just how she reacts when her brother dies, but other aspects too. I thought it was funny that Reona said that she was supposed to be a party member which is why she was so fast, maybe she's a rouge (I think).

Every week is going to be a reminder how THICC Reona is, my my those are some sick curves.

Still funny af, love the MC's voice acting a lot.

The Yandere childhood friend is still around and I honestly thought she was going to thank the MC for killing her brother for some reason, but then she turned psycho again. If she'll be chasing him around all game like that, Hiro will be in shape in no time.

Ginji is a veteran player it seems, eventho there's no gaming for him anymore. He basically lives in that game now. He did Hiro dirty by selling him out to the whole casino XD I do wonder who he was talking to at the table, it's interesting cause Hiro was seen talking to himself, but it was actually Reona.

No way in hell he finds running for his life and hiding in fear of imprisonment more enjoyable than hanging out with his friend. He has not enjoyed one bit of the game after his first 2 minutes playing. He has no goal that he is trying to achieve in the game, it can stop him from leaving, and he feels similar pain to real life.

Even if he spent a lot of money on it, he has a lot of other games he can play that may give him some escapism and some enjoyment.

hmm, well to put my 2 cents in. i'm 44 and yep, not as 'serious' a gamer now as i was in my tweenaged years up into my 20's. i even quit buying 'consoles' after NES and SNES because they just kept trying to 'up their stats' but could NEVER reach the pinnacle of PC. yep, i'm of the 'PC Master Race' mindset that consoles are turds no matter how much woo-woo mojo they try to shove into them. they're just TOO damn specialized when you can buy yourself a crazy high spec desktop which'll blow the socks off any console AND do a bajillion other things too.

onto to this ep, and 1st one... yeah. no. lawyer up dude. she totally bait and switched ya. plus unless this 'future Japan' has totally blown it... there's such a thing as a 'cooling off period' for juveniles and purchases in Japanese civil law. clerk HAS to refund his cash or face punishment. period. shrug, but that's just reading a smidge too into it. but i'd still call a lawyer and take the store to court.

beyond that point, no, trash the junk game and move on with his life. crap games like that shouldn't be made, played, or sold. the devs should have thought a lot longer and a lot harder about the consequences of their creation being TOO realistic.

concerning the dude's 'so called RL' we don't know EXACTLY what his injury was. perhaps he truly CAN'T return to track n field. but if this future Japan has reached fully immersive VR they couldn't have ignored medical advances. shrug, the cops are just a phone-call away anytime the punks shake him down for cash, SUCH a simple solution the author/screenwriters have to ignore it totally or that plot-point would be easily cleared. i'd bet $1 that his lil sis is being tsun so he doesn't find out she's totally bro-con. as to the babe-store clerk... there's GOT to be more to her story, otherwise WHY would she be pushing this PARTICULAR game onto him so fervently.

hmm. how to 'get out' of his situation in-game if he's going to keep going? hmm. FUB gave him three hints. be smart, be beefcake, or be both. dude could think his way out of problems or muscle his way out of them or think AND muscle his way out. kid's already a world-class 'run away!' character right now. so i see two options: keep running, or face down the problems with sneakiness/learning and improving his physical capabilities. if VR is this advanced, realistic training simulators have to exist. find some hand to hand combat sims/games with weapons and bare fists etc. start working out at home too. depending on how sensitive the game is to his RL body even light exercise and moderate stretching could improve his capabilities. then use the mental skills his VR training has and apply them to solo kata, shadow-boxing, gaining 'muscle memory' till his in-game capabilities improve.
just an ol school American otaku enjoyin the life. don't sass me kiddies, i've been otaku probably since before you were born. leave me in peace and i won't bother you either.

I agree, only thing that I think of in-universe explanation is that after Kiwame Quest full dive RPG games hited "dead end", they couldn't have better graphic/experience (because people didn't wanted) so this genre stagnated overtime, at least that's how I interpreted this from previous episode.

although the idea isn't a bad one I have many problem with the story first why log in the chick told him it was basically game over no restarts low level and wanted. then it just me the guys playing game to avoid his real life that seem sucky so play a game so brutally realistic especially after the only other player told him it take real martial art skill to even leave the town that he a wanted criminal even if it was a 120 dollar game just move on, loss the chick number and avoid her like the plague. I understand that without him continuing there is no story but I just don't see the average person playing the game even with a good start as without the real life skill it more of a fantasy sim than a rpg

Ep1 was great intro. But here Hiro have no plan at this point.. no money, no viable skills, no basic gears and on the run yet still returns to the game, pacing dragged a little. Hope the next episode will atleast be convincing.

Loved this episode, Hiro’s reactions to everything is perfect, had me laughing. Reona is still an absolute babe, I can see some others here still appreciating her as well lol, there’s something about a stacked fairy girl that gets all of us. Alicia and her fruit slicer with the badass name she came up with for it, that’s some spooky stuff. Also loved the OP, reminds me of Cautious Hero a bit.

Noo he got betrayed :(

Alicia's voice actor is amazing and I was surprised to see that she'll be Jolyne's one from jojo. Omg those screams are top notch lol

We saw the ending last episode but it was nice seeing it play again and I'm a big fan of it. Maybe even more than the opening which is still good.

I've gotta say, this episode was better than the firs

Alicia is so menacing it's hilarious, and Hiro's reactions truly are priceless. Reona also isn't as bad as she was in the first, but unfortunately she's still not Asuna

my own 2 cents is, they are trying too hard to be comedic in the wrong places at the wrong time for something that "chases realism"

Alicia looks like a third rate crazy half the time. Hiro reacts much more naturally, but I have misgivings about the director's portrayal of a crazy avenger. People who flat-out look crazy though to set off alarms is not scary, someone who looks calm and then just snaps all of a sudden does. As a result, there was not enough tension for the scenes with Alicia, where Hiro has to literally run for his life, no matter how real he acted.

The only shining points in this episode is probably where Hiro realised he cannot "log-out during combat", and the part where Ginji sold him out. Class-A acting there. But the main body of the episode is uninspiring and lacking imo.
