Kazuya is still such a motivator in this season. Nice to see him and his wisdom.

The episode was alright, felt pretty lighthearted and slow paced. This honestly feels like a calm before the storm with the night practices.

Straight to the last boss!! :O so if they win this match they basically win the tournament??

edit: Is there a stronger team than Komadai in the quarterfinals?

this episode went by so quickly even though it was mainly setup.

I really liked the banter/rapport between Sawamura and Furuya.
Also Furuya bowing before his teammates was a nice moment!

it's minor, but I'm glad the ending cards are back :)
missed it last episode XD

Really great exposition episode, Im certainly hyped for the pitchers showdown, but I hope Sawamura gets his piece of the cake too.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

After watching whole episode I'm kind of disappointed. First once again we didn't see too much of Eijun, second I don't know how this was in manga but this feels kind of too pushed and fast forwards... I mean they fight so hard to be in Koshien and now they've already won few games and we didn't had opportunity to watch them kind of "live". There is lack of action but it's also a bit similar to first two episodes of first season. Maybe they want to build the momentum and first show us that some of guys have grown mentally. I know that either in next game Sawamura will be pitching or he will not and Furuya will suffer some another injury.

This was actually just like the manga, haha. I totally feel you, the beginning of Act II feels quite rushed, and tbh, it's not just the beginning, but here and there, there will be games that go by rather quickly. Of course, it seems weirder here because, as you mentioned, they worked really hard to get to Koushien, and suddenly they're at the quarterfinals.

Ayy, we get to see Hakuryuu. I quite like Mima ^^ Totally forgot about seeing all those other schools though, such as the twins.

I love seeing Eijun's envious expressions lol. Can't say that I like seeing Furuya getting all the spotlight either, although he deserves it. Need more Eijun.

I see you Todoroki Raichi! I missed you.

Loved Eijun-kun's expressions over Furuya and his support, but I feel we all know Furuya is probably gonna croak as he always does, waiting for Eijun-kun to resume the spotlight.

Nori-senpai hanging in there is good, forever a fan.

Yeah I didn't read manga... I only red one volume from this act - the one when they introduced new first years and there were some fun scenes in dormitory and school with them. So I didn't know it will look like that but... my guess is that's authors "doing" and I bet Seido will lose once again. Not sure if this will happen in next match but maybe a bit later. Because for story it will be just dumb to let them win Koshien and later introduce first years. But who knows... this is anime world and it's full of surprises.

Was the manga this fast, or are they rushing through alot of plot? We skipped straight into spring invitational, and now were already at the semi semi finals...

This is exacly what I thought... I even wrote about it a bit earlier than you. I checked first chapters of manga specially for this thing and it looks like they did anime to looks as much as similar as it could to original manga.

Damn it I think I will now read it all xD

Thats good, I don't mind if the source material does it, but after circus as much as I'm enjoying it, all the rushing gets annoying.

This was so good. Furuya grew up so much, that's character development for sure. He has a nice rivalry going on with Sawamura, and he is able to realize and acknowledge that he only got this good/far because he was in Seidou, and lived those moments.

I also love how the world doesn't revolve around Sawamura just because he is the protagonist. He will have his time to shine, and I'm sure he will make it count. He isn't the team's ace, at least not yet, but he is its heart and I just love it. It was also great to see Kawakami the Koushien mound, he deserves it.

I was also really happy to see Raichi, his father, and Sanada, who was really proud of them, again. xD Out of the other teams only Mima's and Masamune's teams got my attention, these two are really 'kakkoi' after all. Well the first big match is finally upon us, and I have no idea of how many episodes will it take for it to be over as it slowly drives me mad through the weeks, but I can't wait!

This episode was ok. It was mostly setup. the worst thing about it are actually the fans complaining that Eijun gets no screen time. Its the nationals, Furuya is the ace, naturally Furuya gets more time to shine. Its his moment now. I read the manga, be patient anime onlys. Eijun will get so much time to shine in this season, just not now. Probably around episode 15 mark. Just a wild guess. I do know its around chapters 36- 45 is when he first gets to shine big

Hopefully the spotlight will be on Eijun again soon :( Yes, Furuya is the ace, but I don't have to like it! He always chokes so hopefully it's only a matter of time before Eijun shows that there's more to pitching than just throwing the ball really fast. Can't wait to see more of Eijun! And hopefully seeing Furuya make that heartbreaking envious expression Eijun made today.

You replied to me last week saying the same thing as now. You probably didn't have an account in the fatidic days of season 2 when I complained about Furuya no Ace every week. It seems I can't even comment anymore about how I want to see Sawamura pitching (in an episode where he was completely negleted and coach played 3rd guy): it's "the worst".

Same here, they have never mentioned anything about them playing in the nationals :/

Edit: I found this answer online
“To enter the summer Koushien, you MUST WIN the summer tournament
Spring Koushien is different because the teams are SELECTED and INVITED to participate based on their performance in the fall tournament (that's why it's also called The Invitational Tournament). Wining the fall tournament guarantees an invitation, finishing at second place doesn't, though it is still possible for you to be selected as runner-ups”

Unlike during the Summer Koshien, the players for the Spring Koshien is not limited to the team that won the Fall Tournament. Spring Koshien is also dubbed as the "Invitational Tournament", the winners of the Fall Tournament is guaranteed a ticket, although the judges/critics/whatever you call them can extend the ticket to another team who performs exceptionally well that it meets the favor of them.

Nah bro its fine if you want to see Eijun pitch. He's my favorite character. of course I want him to pitch too. Just don't mindlessly complain like some other people who doesn't look at this from a realistic standpoint. This series is the most realistic shounen sports series I have seen. Everything about it feels incredibly real and things that would happen in real life scenarios.

There are more realistic sports series. Still, I want Dia no Ace to follow their professional careers, considering the sheer amount of characters they have from different schools + the development they already went through.

Shounen wise this is the most realistic along with Slam dunk and Ippo. The development were all necessary and helps Eijun's future performance. I do understand if people are not a fan of the pacing though since its a legitimate issue. Im sure if people binge watched the series it would be more fun and easier to watch

The show is rushing too fast. I'm not a fan of the rapid montage but as long as we slow down now I guess it'll be ok. I am very excited to see the next game. It feels too early to be facing last years champs already.

Also as always Furuya is dominating the spotlight and I'm still salty about it.

Furuya admires polar bears *the joke about Shirokuma and Miyuki sharing seiyuu should be here*.

It's ok to rush some games, better than see repeated plays and scenarios with the opponents who aren't all that outstanding. I guess the long game will start from the next episode. Interesting to see how they'll go against Masamune.

I would like to see Eijun pitch but I'm fine if it's not the case. I enjoy watching his growth too, and even in this episode seeing how he reflected on his bad game and cheered for Furuya, it just makes you root for him more and when the time comes it'll be all the more satisfying to see him pitching as the ace.

Okay only thing I’ll say after reading these comments is I know Furuya gets his time but the people saying “be patient he’ll have his turn” or “everything doesn’t have to revolve around mc” is starting to get annoying lol. We’ve been patient for over 126 episodes. Like geez how much more patience do you want us to have. Why does it take that many episodes plus some to show the mc’s worth? It’s not like Furuya is unstoppable or god mode so I don’t understand what’s taking so long. Like it’s not even like we’re asking him to be some op beast but if you’re going to make mc suck then dang it at least knock furuya down too. Like the way the author made us perceive Sawamura the first 3 episodes is wayyyyyy different then now. Now for the “ everything doesn’t have to revolve around mc” part. Um it doesn’t even revolve around him for a quarter of the season lmao. I can only recall 3 episodes making me actually smile for him last season. He literally doesn’t feel op or mc like at all. So for us to want a little progress does not make us “mc only lovers” or “wanting him to be op” he’s been so weak compared to furuya during yips and at the beginning and in the mindsets of the coach and audience and teammates that asking for a little upgrade wouldn’t hurt.

This is already the 4th time I'm watching this 3rd season (3 times rewatching) and I still don't understand. Isn't Yakushi lost to Seido in Fall Tournament back in season 2? At the final round. And since Seido win so they are the one going to koushien, right? Then what is Yakushi doing there in koushien??

I'm not unsatisfied of Yakushi's appearance but I honestly don't understand. They lost but how can they be in koushien? Someone please explain to me what is happening

Furuya getting stronger... getting all the spotlight... and being more reliable and expressive of himself... the mountain is getting bigger for Eijun. But the greater Furuya is, the better! Eijun will definitely surpass that mountain! For now more patience is needed for viewers who really want to see Eijun shine.

I was also surprised. This is my 2nd time watching Act II and my first watch was back when it was airing in 2019 so I completely forgot. But anyway, you might've known this by now already, but Yakushi was invited by the association because of their commendable act against Seido. They're from an unknown school so I guess the association was greatly impressed by them. In the OVA, there was a scene when their coach cried after hearing some news. It must've been then. This is what makes Spring Koshien different from Summer because one team can get invited in the former. Just a heads up, even if Seido lost, there was no guarantee that they would be invited to Nationals like Yakushi did.

Hold up, I’m confused. How are they here? So based on the comments they got invited, I didn’t know that was a thing.

That’s a lot of names that I’m not going to remember.

When is Eijun ever going to get good at batting? I hope they can teach him.

Wait, why are they not allowing Eijun and Nori to start the games? Did they forget that players can get exhausted.

And as always, Eijun is just disregarded.
