Ore dake Level Up na Ken

Humanity was caught at a precipice a decade ago when the first gates—portals linked with other dimensions that harbor monsters immune to conventional weaponry—emerged around the world. Alongside the appearance of the gates, various humans were transformed into hunters and bestowed superhuman abilities. Responsible for entering the gates and clearing the dungeons within, many hunters chose to form guilds to secure their livelihoods.

Sung Jin-Woo is an E-rank hunter dubbed as the weakest hunter of all mankind. While exploring a supposedly safe dungeon, he and his party encounter an unusual tunnel leading to a deeper area. Enticed by the prospect of treasure, the group presses forward, only to be confronted with horrors beyond their imagination. Miraculously, Jin-Woo survives the incident and soon finds that he now has access to an interface visible only to him. This mysterious system promises him the power he has long dreamed of—but everything comes at a price.

Fun and dumb, everyone can enjoy an anime like this is just dumb fun without thinking, its just like a trash food, it's enjoyable but you know its bad for your body, in this case this show is bad for your brain, this show its just enjoyable and the creators know that, its not neccesary to have interesting characters or plot lines its just fun and that's ok, the show its just all over the place and sometimes its kinds convoluted but dont matter because its fun and its going to have a lot more seasons because its popular for the incredible animation and soundtrack, ... so lets enjoy this and stop nitpicking guys ok.

Mixed Feelings

If i were to describe this anime with 1 phrase it would be perfectly mediocre. Now, do not let my seemingly harsh words dissuade you from giving this anime a shot.

Soloing Leveling is an anime that knows its own strengths and weaknesses. It know what it is and the main audience it hopes to capture. If you enjoy power fantasies or having some weak character get stronger, then this is the show for you. Its a show with action after action, fight after fight. If you are after a show with good animation and action with none of the weight of ... stories or character motives or underlying themes then this is your show

Aside from everything mentioned above this show has nothing else to offer. Side characters really matter. They dont develop and they dont have any interesting characteristics or personalities. HxH, World trigger , FMAB, fate /zero, gurren lagann are all examples of good - brilliant side characters.


No thought process between battles so its purely a visual spectacle, and with no enemy or characters motivations there is no weight to battles. Stands from jojos was interesting on how to fight against ranged opponents, one piece always has character weight in their fights. World trigger is probably the best balanced of any fight mechanic, with a lot of though into strategy and preplanning. In retrospect solo leveling has none of that

The MC is going to win, and if i know that, whats going to keep me invested?
- is it characters motivations ?
- is it strategy ( during fights) ?
- is it character philosophy ?
- is it character development ?
- Is fight chorography?
- is it visually great animation?

Personally this anime only satisfies 1 of the many things that keep me interested. Not for me unfortunately but it could be for you .

One can say shows like death note, attack on titan, etc. have revolutionized anime.
They can also say shows like Solo Leveling is killing anime

Solo leveling is one of MANY products of mass produced "power scaling" manhwas from Korea.
Some say it started the craze, started it all. You can open up any random manhwa in this genre and realize only subtle differences from solo leveling. "It's just like solo leveling", said manhwa reader #99593258983.

Solo leveling's popularity is due to its genericness. You can think of it as the Sword Art Online of manhwa. Nothing really stands out, but it is fun to look at, and ... easy to follow. It is such a simple plot, a simple story, with the simplest of characters. Anyone can get into it , and quickly.

Weak guy become strong fast! And only him! See him get strong, see him beat up the bad guys. Such desires unfolding on television has always had heavy appeal to most humans. We want to see the underdog win, the bad guys lose. Even people that claim to only enjoy sophisticated, deep media - They still can enjoy this simple show fulfilling this simple desire. My only quip is that the anime under delivers compared to the manhwa by cutting much detail. "The book is better", you've heard many times. But I think it's particularly true for this series.
