Whoa , As an anime only who knows nothing about Solo leveling, This was a fantastic first episode.
Nice introduction to the world and the despair is already hitting. This is hype stuff, Next week's episode gonna be big!

I heard a lot about Solo Leveling before and some people who normally don't recommend stuff recommended me to read it. But I didn't read it cause I didn't really know anything about it. Thankfully, there's an anime now.
I liked the first episode. So far I don't really get why it's popular but that's only because it's the first episode and the plot barely even started. I am hooked though and I'm going to keep watching it.
The cliffhanger felt kinda cheap so I think it should've been an hour-long episode instead. But I'll take it. I liked the animation and the gore.
The setup feels a bit generic but it can still be enjoyable. I can't wait to see where this goes.

| @0451 SL is pretty generic and fans are starting to overhype it which i think will actually leave a bad impression when new watchers actually see it. But its great at what it does. And before someone tries to flame me, i read SL way back in 2020 before it was even popular in the west. |
| TXT AND SAWANO ON THE SAME ANIME??? Oh my god my life is complete. Fave kpop group and my fave overall artist working together is surreal. All brought together by a production from one of my favourite studios. I’ve never read the LN or manwha so I was only here for Sawano and A-1, had no idea TXT was working on the OP so that was such a cool surprise Story is solid enough, AU dimension hopping and farming mana crystals is pretty cool. I like the modern urban/fantasy blend. MC seems like a hardworking fella just trying to make ends meet for his family which I can respect a lot. Felt bad for bro getting talked about behind his back by his own colleagues though. Classic set up here for a zero to hero trope. Being one of the weakest hunters, we know he’s not going to stay that way, will his rise be satisfying though? It’s interesting seeing how commercialised the whole Hunter process is. All this bureaucracy for people joining guilds. It’s pretty cool actually that it’s a big industry in this world Decent selection of waifus so far. Blonde girl was fire, sister is cute and healer girl is so damn cute but I don’t got high hopes for her survival. Death flags all around in this one. MC constantly disregarding her warnings is a classic set up for her dying, him becoming angry and vengeful etc etc. Choosing to push on into the dungeon when it’s clearly a bad idea was only ever going to end one way. That statue is creepy as hell too. Glad that there’s gore in this too, really brutal deaths shown in this first episode showing just how dangerous this world is. Expecting a lot of pain next episode. Really good first episode, Sawano cooked as usual, TxT snapped on the OP and A1 cooked with the visuals. |

| I knew the core concept is devoid of fun and the only thing to look up are the battles, but the execution of this is quite bland too. Even RWBY: Hyousetsu Teikoku had a better starter episodes and some idea here and there. This is peak mediocrity. |

| For all the hype this anime been carrying, 23 minutes for the first episode is just insulting my my expectations at this point, hell even Sasaki and Peeps had 40+ minutes But we here for it though, seems like my guy got a real one that's riding for him even before he buffs up, always good to see. |

| The LN was garbage, the anime does a better job explaining things and is much quicker at it. It's still not a very strong story, nothing really new, lack of consistency, no believably with everyone but the protagonist being an idiot etc. |

| Spoilers everywhere and Crunchyroll's servers crashed again Anyways, here are my thoughts (I'm a huge fan of the source materials (LN/manhwa)-- - I somehow can't get used to the JP voices in this show, even though I watched anime in JP. Jinwoo's voice is not the right kind of deep. Gonna watch the KR and EN versions to see if they're better - They extended/added parts that weren't on the source materials. I don't mind it, but the pacing should've been better - Like the gore, better and more brutal than most shonen shows - The art style aint cutting it, typical SAO/A1 shit. The studio seemed to not evolve their styles for the past decade. But the animation is good - Sawano, being Sawano I guess (the music is great) Shame that the 1st episode is not an hour long special. Would've been more memorable if they show THAT PART or at the end of the arc |

| Why?!!! The episode was boring from beginning to end except for this final scene. Why cut here? Give me something before you leave! This is what I get for being up to date with episodes. I can't just jump to next episode right away. I hope this cliffhanger is worth it. I see they kept the character's Korean names. I heard they were going to make it set in Japan which made the bad guys the Korean and that made the Koreans angry. I guess they changed the plan, or it was just a rumor. |

But from episode 1 I liked it and I'll probably enjoy the rest. But if it really is very generic and doesn’t appeal to me then I might drop it after one season like I did with a few other anime that were also overhyped. |

I tried to not read the Manhwa to enjoy this to the fullest but I might pick it up once I can spare some time.
It's gonna be a fun ride atleast that much I know.
| @Biisoo yup n next episode is gonna be the best episode IF* this is a 12ep series. Best episode trust me. The amount of Thrill will be insane, after that it'll get repetitive for 11-2eps with obv story progression but it'll be repetitive fight scenes. Might get a but boring. And Then,, Best Arc JEJU ISLAND with the Best Character BERU 🐜. 2nd best arc is the Monarchs, end arc of Solo Leveling with all Badass looking characters. Just wait for it, I just told u the peak of Solo Leveling without any spoilers. Stay hyped. |
