I'm the sort of person who will never flame, roast, reject or laugh at anyone's opinion on what anime they enjoy. Its a subjective medium and should be viewed subjectively.

I rate anime for their characters, and narrative. Everything is just complementary. Art style, and CGI have very little impact compared to a character's personality, beliefs, traits and development.

Yeah, I don't know if you read that one review on there (front page—third one, I think), but I looked at it a little bit and almost the whole review is going over plot holes. Some of them I'm not sure are really plot holes. Like the rocks and some of the material, for example. We're only shown a small portion of the world, and I imagine there are clusters of materials somewhere, so that's probably fine. But other examples are stronger.

But I have to agree with you on the water aspect. It's kind of flimsy because other than them just saying they need water, it's all show and no tell at all. And the showing is kind of vague. Obviously, how the world got to that point is a mystery, but the characters don't comment much on the snow sea, explain much about its properties compared to the regular sea, or anything else. It looks kind of snowish/bubbly on the surface, but kind of just seems like regular sea water when they submerge. I don't know... a little rushed. I get the "snow foil" stuff, but it's not explored well.

I don't remember, but that scene in episode 3 (I think), where Liliha and Kaina lock hands while submerged in the snow sea... the idea is she floats because of the snow foil, but he would sink if they weren't holding hands because I don't think he had any? My memory is a little foggy. I'm not sure if Kaina ever even got any. Kaina and the prince I assume didn't have any while they were walking along the roots, or they would have floated. I don't really know.

I know a lot of knowledge was lost, but I imagine they know about distillation as it's a useful survival skill to pass on (and their level of advancement is pretty decent, so I don't believe they would overlook distillation). So my guess is the snow sea has some strange property that prevents distillation. But that's pure speculation.

Well, there's still the movie.

I decided to catch up to where you are in the series before responding. I don't expect it to be pretty or a visual feast per se, but seeing as it is a visual medium, the visuals are still important. I could overlook the presentation if I liked anything else about it, but I'm not liking the characters or story thus far, and I think now that I'm at episode 8, it's far too late for me to warm up to it—rather it's the chilly opposite and my rating is starting to sink. My expectations for where the series would go were a little higher back when you sent your message (when I was only about 3 episodes in), yet I feel the series doesn't really do much other than present a novel fantasy world. A few scenes stood out for me: such as when we first get to see what is beneath the surface of the snow sea when the two mains plunge into its depths, as well as when the main and the prince trudge through the sea on the roots. The world definitely has a lot of potential.

Are you planning on checking out the manga? I was actually wanting to do that instead because of the CGI back when the series started, but I think it wasn't available when I looked.

yellow eyes of Kirito and the others is just an incarnation which is a side effect due to how the Graphics Engine vs the actual code base interacts with each other on different layers or is just basically exploiting how mind uploading works frame-of-reference is data being constantly uploaded into the system, that data is part of game world) in sci-f is not explained because they do not know what is at all in the anime but in reality it exists and the reason why he uses it best is that it is used only seriously life-threatening and anxious - the irony is that asuna and others use it as much as they can

Hi there! Thanks for the FR accept dude, nice to connect with ya!
Hope you are safe and doing fine during these testing Covid times
Looking forward to some great interactions on various anime in the days 2 come :)

P.s- Great Rakudai, Phantom world and SAO underworld reviews, you really stayed true to your own opinion on the above anime as a whole without jumping on the hate bandwagon, which is quite rare to see in people nowadays.

I've read a lot of reviews on Mushoku Tensei and out of all of them, yours stands out the most. I really appreciate how you chose neither side of the arguments on whether its storytelling is good or how it's an appropriation for disgusting acts outweigh the pros of the story, it's just an objective review of the story as a whole. I'm of the majority (Well at least I hope it's the majority) who was disturbed by Rudeus' pedophilic actions, but I disagree that the story appropriates his acts, misleading the audience to sympathize with him. I think that his inappropriate actions are there so that the audience remembers that he is by no means a good person. So that's why I was so happy that his actions didn't allow you to relate or sympathize with him, and that I wasn't the only one.

recently I wrote a SAO WotO part 2 review that expressed my dislike of the series. The average review rating was an 8 or higher. My aim was to provide a different view point.

For each category in the review ( character, story, animation etc.) I provided my reason of why I disliked it. From this review came a few hateful, toxic and arrogant comments. For others who are facing similar situations the best thing you can do is ignore the comments and delete them. Reporting is also valid. But if you want to confront these problem people, then call them out for what they are. Tell them that their comments are hurtful. Tell them their comments are toxic. Tell them that you don't care about their opinion. Remind them of their arrogance BUT never say anything mean or hurtful to them. Don't spread the hate.

Everyone has different opinions. That's ok, even if their views don't align with yours. Dont get heated up because some says your fav anime sucks. Be the better person.

Great Musaigen no Phantom World review!

I was going to troll you but after reading your comment earned my respect. I to think there's really no best anime (overall). People state this is the best as a fact. There are definitely bad anime out there. I mean the only way to enjoy them is if you don't care about bad writing, story, characters etc.

Some of the best anime can be misunderstood and vise versa. However when you look at it there can be no best anime. There is so much anime out there and in such variety that it becomes a subjective opinion. How can i compare FMAB to itazura na kiss. You cant compare these 2 anime as they are 2 different in nature. It all depends if you like action ,harem moe, comedy, romance etc. Similarly a "bad" anime doesnt exist either COUGH* COUGH* school day COUGH* COUGH* anyways where was i going with this....oh ya I HAVE NO IDEA!
