Kaichou wa Maid - Sama! is similar to Special A because of two main couples in each of these anime. In Kaichou wa Maid - Sama! There is Ayuzawa, Misaki and Usui, Takumi. Ayuzawa is very strongminded, and always tries to protect the girls in her school which was recently made co-ed. She tends to frighten the boys at her school with her quick temper, and masculine adrenaline. However, her character changes when she is discovered by a classmate Usui, that she works as a cute little maid in a cafe shop, where it mainly entertains male genders. Usui promises to keep her  read more

Special A and Ouran High School Host Club are both shoujo comedies that center around a somewhat special group of high school students. In Special A this group is an elite class of the best students in school while in Ouran its a "host club". Still, the characters in both groups are eerily similar; in both groups you have a perfect male (lead), a cool reserved character, a cute character and a guy who appears to be a dummy. Also both animes (being shoujo) center around a very clueless (but strong) heroine. Both shows have a lot of silly comedy. The character designs are alike. Overall  read more

Both shows contain a male lead who are geniuses and can memorize things after seeing it once, they both contain a girl that are below them academically and both have a great mix of comedy and romance

Another anime series where two top students constantly bicker and compete to be the best. It's also similar in the way that they're surrounded by a group of friends who are quirky and fun, mostly to offset the tension between the two main characters.

Lovely Complex is more dramatic whereas Special A is more lighthearted. Both animes have more than one couple but Lovely Complex really focuses on one couple compared to Special A. Both fit the romance comedy drama school life categories.

both anime are very similiar. both main character are boyish and very dense and blockheaded about love. both main characters has a hot looking guy loving them but they dont notice it. there both funny and cute . both contains hot looking guys

Both story revolves in a high school, and the heroine, Hanazono Hikari is as powerful as Aisaka Taiga. A great story which do not let the side characters go down, as well as great soundtracks...

it is pretty similar by the special group,, however, Shugo Chara is about elementary schoolers so they just have regular classes.. the garden thing is also similar..in Shugo Chara they call it the royal garden.

vampire knight and special A revolve around elite high school kids with the plot focused on romance and comedy both are reli good anime VKG is better than VK

Both are romantic comedies and i really enjoyed each of the them. The main characters are both hard working girls who never give up. The main character Hikari in Special A, is similar to Tohru in that matter. Not only that, but they are continously wishing to make people other than themselves, happy. A major difference, however, is Hikari can't cook for crap, while Tohru is a fairly talented cook. Please don't let this fact sway youre decision. :)

Both series takes place at a school setting where there is drama, comedy, romance, and also competition. From both of these series, the main male protagonist meets the main female protagonist where the two forms an peculiar relationship - sometimes serious, sometimes competitive against each other, and sometimes romantic. Both series also has other love triangles in a lighthearted way. Both series also has some misunderstandings that causes tension in various episodes.

These animes have very similar characters; one being shy, one being silent, one being hyper, etc. The stories are also similar in a way. It's about life during school, the hardships the characters face and friendship being very important. The school is also divided into 2 different groups, the "average" students and the "advanced" students. Even though La Corda D'Oro is about music and Special A is more about competition and sports, they are both very fun to watch.

The style of art is similar and Tenma is just like Hikari, except she's cuter while Hikari is more boyish XD Special A is cuter than School Rumble due to it being centered around a super cute romance, but I think that if you like one, you'll definitely like the other!

They both have the same atmosphere, high school romance.

The leading girls in both series look alike &Tomoe act very similar towards Nanami as Kei does to Hikari~

Wallflower (Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge) and Special A are both reverse harems. There's humour in both series and the protagonist are both high school girls. Both are well worth watching ;)

Both are school romance anime. Both feature a pair of highly competitive overachievers in a fancy school. The protagonists initially compete with each other and appear to not get along but subsequently become interested in each other. The romance part felt much more intense towards the end of Special A, whereas Kaguya-Sama seemed more focused on comedy and more locked in its episode format.

Both are about a group of special kids who experience love for the first time. Both have main characters have issues that normal people do not have, well they are very similar, so check the other out if you watched one.

The girls are both always happy-go-getto and are clueless that theres a guy friend who's totally in love with them. Kei liking Hikari and Hikari being the clueless ,determined ,cheerful girl she is. Taichi being in love with Chihaya and Chihaya being the the clueless ,determined, passionate ,cheerful girl she is.

The plots of these two animes have no relation whatsoever, but if you liked the humor and school-characters from Code Geass, you'll like Special A. Both have fancy school settings with humorous characters and a bit of romance. Also, Kei, the male lead of SA, is voiced by Jun Fukuyama who voiced Lelouch.

The female protagonists are very similar. They never give up and work hard to achieve their goals. They are strong, funny and yet vulnerable all at the same time. Both of these animes have a good amount of comedy, drama, relationships, learning experiences and even action. If you love one, you will love the other. So overall witty and lovable characters, great storises, nice artwork..

If you like shows about clubs and school activities but you also like seeing a bit of romance and character development, Special A and Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate are in a similar league. They're both cute, funny and light-hearted without being superficial. The characters and storyline are a bit different for the two, but the overall feel of the anime are very similar.

Both are from a similar genre - slice of life/comedy. The cast in does eventually involve most of its class keeps its initial close group of friends, but both are hilarious and worth a watch .

Very similiar but here (Special A) the girl is the one losing over the boy, she always lose all challenges to him but she never give up too.

Both female leads are strong and confident and use that to their advantage to get through difficult situations. Not only that, they both have people with special talents (Special A is just normal talents while in Akatsuki no Yona "talents" refers to more of a fantastical element) who support the female lead and will be by their side no matter what. Although Akatsuki no Yona is more serious than Special A, both contain comedic elements and a little romance. I recommend watching both if you want to see a strong female lead kick some ass!
report Recommended by emjayse
High school romance. If you are looking for romance anime with less misunderstanding between the leads, both are good.
report Recommended by sajia_afrin_
the female character has a friend that she sees as a brother (in HR) or as a rival (in SA) however the friend has very strong feeling for the girl, and doesnt like being the brother/rival both males are the heads of the company are always busy, but when it comes to the girl, they throw work aside and pay all attention to her, or atleast try to the girls are pretty dense and they always butt into everyone's business and most of the people in the shows are of high class

Hikari and Ichigo has this "you want a battle? game on!" spirit and they are very persistent in achieving something which made them similar. I could even see Takishima in Kashino. Both are amazing !!!!
report Recommended by pixiedusttt
Both have handsome male protagonist with a dense girl lead. Not to mention both male leads like to tease the female lead.
report Recommended by Xorcon
Both are sweet, romance anime where the female protagonist has a Type A personality. The protagonist in Golden time is a little more abrasive than Special A, but experiences A LOT of character development that really ads to the show.
report Recommended by watznvoltz
Both are about a girl trying her best, surrounded by people who (mostly) try to encourage her. The main characters both have a sense of determination in them
report Recommended by starsonia913
There are very similar aspects. Lucky Star is mainly about girls who attend school together, and Special A is usually located at school and about people who attend school together.
report Recommended by wonderlander_7
both high school romances special A's got good comedy, yet genuine romance, peach girl is more serious n dramatic u might even say special A is better...filled with positivity...n sweet blush-inducing scenes b/w the protagonists :)

Highclass individuals with exceptional talents in certain areas, both Special A and Princess Lover! throw some romance, school life, and comedy all together.
report Recommended by Chidashi
Both series have a group of students superior to the rest. Both also have enjoyable characters that can make you laugh out loud or tear up.
report Recommended by Negide
similar group of students (they also have a greenhouse, where they meet), also complicated love story, but with magic
report Recommended by visenna
Although with different plots, since they're made by the same studio: AIC, they have similar animation and gags, and totally just as funny and enjoyable to watch. If you like one, you'll most definitely like the other...If not, then you're missing out.
report Recommended by Estoy_Gordo
Both animes focus on relationships which don't going anywhere for along time, because the couple are unaware they are in love.
report Recommended by holly696
They are both mainly staged around people in love. In both, there are people who get in the way of that.
report Recommended by wonderlander_7
Kannagi is full of humor and so is SA. They both really make me laugh, and there are great personalities in both animes that you begin to like from the beginning. Both animes contains a group of friends but with most attention to one or two persons.
report Recommended by mittUPPEilivet
it is also about school life but there turnover is the male is much more better than female i am not yet done finishing baka to test to shoukanjuu but their similar and also it has sam genes

They both have that carefree attitude about them.

There are a few bishounens, and the artwork is great! The earl looks like half Kei and half Tamaki, so it'll remind you of special A everytime!

the romantic aspect and male leads for both of these are very similar. watching one reminds me of the other.

The stories are both set around individuals with abnormal talent. They both have lots of comedic relief... Well. I don't know why I'm reccomending this. I just am. Trust me.
