current status/thoughts: ∘ STAN DREAMCATCHER - seriously, you won’t regret it ∘ currently playing: suika game probably ∘ i’ve tripped and fallen and am obsessed with dimension 20 ∘ the only reason i'm here is because i'm in a perpetual state of waiting for a new haikyuu!! season and pretending that i'm gonna keep up with seasonal anime ∘ i had a nightmare that gintama was over so i had to come back here to double check turns out that nightmare is now a reality ∘ i probably need to go through my anime/manga lists and reorganise/update but めんどくさい bird/petal (✿) ∘ thirty ∘ non-binary (they/them) australian ∘ infp ∘ chaotic neutral icon/cover ©: lanimalu | forum sig ©: lanimalu | journey sprite ©: cinder last.fm ∘ twitter ∘ tumblr no one's around to help. my given name is amanda, but i'd rather you use my username/variations of other internet handle's i've used (bird/petalblizzard/petrichor/pandalily/etc). my toxic trait is going through seasonal previews, watching 3 episodes of everthing… and then forgetting to finish anything but repeating this process every season i'm a pretty agreeable person, as long as you're not talking down to me (in the non-punny way because i'm actually very short) i'm easy to talk to, i am definitely a listener though and will only offer my genuine thoughts if asked to. i have a fucking horrible habit of getting drunk and binge-watching the anime i once had in my dropped list (i've since removed everything to try and stop this habit ??? it's not working, y'all) or decided against watching some time ago. if anyone has any shitty anime recommendations that'd be good for this habit of mine, let me know so i can suffer some more. anything tagged "drunk me is a traitor" pertains to this mess. i do my best to spread out these incidents, alcoholism is a problem and i'm not about that life. sober. i apparently tend to flock to genre types like: psychological, thriller, slice of life, comedy, supernatural, seinen, etc. but honestly, if the characters are interesting, likable, or diverse, that's usually enough for me. i stick around for fluid art/animation/style and i'm drawn to anime with attention grabbing OP/ED themes and a good OST. i'm always up for a good story, that doesn't originally get your attention/fit your preferences, but draws you in and blows you out of the water anyway. i kind of force myself through terrible anime for the sake of completion, and just the optimist in me wants to like everything and hopes things will get better. i usually reply to comments (albeit a little delayed) and usually accept friend requests. but for real, if you wanna talk to me about anything, just swing me a comment i'm more likely to accept a friend request or send you one if we've talked before. ask me about what i'm watching lately, whether it be seasonals or something i'm binging, or ask me about things i have watched or video games i'm playing or anything of the like. otherwise you can catch me on twitter, come watch me overshare and alienate my mutuals. r a t i n g 10 - i rate pretty haphazardly and less critically than emotionally 7+ means i appreciated aspects of it, 5 - 6 means i find it average but still passable, 4 and lower will sometimes lead to a drop (depending on how much i feel like torturing myself) ♡ - this is basically my stamp of approval/favourite tag, anime/manga that i have rated between 7-10 usually get this tag it just means that the tagged anime is a favourite of mine, is something i would/will rewatch, and was satisfying whether it was perfect or not. ∘ masterpiece (perfect in it's own right, not as compared to other anime). genuinely satisfying in all of it's aspects, and goes above and beyond expectations. everything comes together in the best kind of way. for me - an intriguing plot, interesting/diverse/likable characters, and good animation/art style is enough for me to like an anime. the extra stuff like voice acting and music is what usually bumps a likable anime up to a lovable anime for me. masterpiece/10 isn't perfection, it's something that excels/stands out in it's own way and transcends it's own limitations by giving the viewer something more than just a pleasurable viewing experience. a work that lingers in the back of your thoughts when you think of the top tier of anime, or what anime should be able to achieve. ∘ - 9 great, and especially a stand out. all it's given elements come together in a way that is fluid and absolutely rewarding. i would watch this all in one sitting if i could, and even rewatch it multiple times. the shortcomings are minimal, and go mostly unnoticed due to how enchanting it is, and how enraptured i am by everything the experience has to offer. it almost always prompts an emotional response from me, and will always have a special place in my heart and mind. ∘ 8 - very good, and well put together. an absolute delight, and very easy to watch. usually prone to being binge watched or even rewatched. many of the elements are distinctive and likable, if not lovable, and any qualities that are not up to scratch are saved/enhanced by all the qualities that do excel. i would definitely be excited and interested in anything related to the series, like a sequel or a manga adaption. ∘ - 7 quite good. the plot is fairly solid and the characters are likable, if not quite strong. the animation/art is quite decent, and the art style is enjoyable. any negatives are definitely outweighed by the positives, though predictability and cliches are usually what separate the good from the very good. definitely recommendable if anyone is curious. ∘ 6 - fine, definitely not bad but not quite good either. vaguely likable, and is usually the lowest general rating an anime could have been given by a reviewer that wouldn't deter me from watching it. the ground works for improvement are definitely visible, and are worth sticking around for despite it's shortcomings. ∘ - 5 average. decent. tolerable. when i think of this, the word "meh" or "eh" comes to mind. i have nothing really negative to say about this, but nothing positive either. this is also the standard for me, whether it is passable or not. it is unlikely that i will drop an average anime, though it does happen depending on how willing i am to sit through more episodes of the exact same thing. ∘ 4 - bad, in the sense that this just missed it's mark as a whole. almost passable, but not quite. definitely less enjoyable than it is vaguely tolerable. weak characters, plot, and/or animation. the art/art style is obviously inconsistent. basically, i see vague hope in all of it's elements but i'm wary as to whether or not i should put my faith in something that has already disappointed me. ∘ - 3 pretty fucking bad as a whole, the negatives heavily outweigh any of the positives, and i find this very uncomfortable to sit through. very forced elements that don't add anything to the plot/character development. so cringe-worthy i can't even watch more than one episode at a time. ∘ 2 - for the most part, horribly executed and quite distasteful. everything is irredeemably inconsistent and disappointing. i can see what this anime was going for, but it definitely missed it's mark and is absolutely not worth continuing. ∘ - 1 appalling in every given aspect, something with absolutely no redeeming qualities about it whatsoever. a complete waste of time, and should be dropped. |

but tbf ever since i started uni i barely go on this site, let alone watch anime like holy shit it feels weird knowing that i cant binge like i used to. like ur bio saying ur gonna pretend to keep up with seasonals omg. another reason i cant watch anime is because of all the seasonals ill tell myself ill watch and then i start them..... and never finish them.
Same!! tbh I've only somewhat found TXT through similar KPOP singers for example like Keshi and *BTS*<--(of course) was how I ended up finding them. I haven't heard their newer songs yet so far, I've only heard TXT-Crown, Cat & Dog, Angel or Devil, 9 & Three Quarters, and my first song I heard from them was Run Away. Pretty good songs imo!
sorry also for the late reply
also dw gintama has literally become one of my favourite animes of all time and im 100% confident that when i'm done with the whole thing at least one of them will be in my favourites. but this is honestly one of -if not- the best animes i have ever watched ngl.
and nichijou??? top tier comedy!
(also i just bought the second volume of my solo exhcange diary ik it's on your ptr but read it it hits just hard)
