This year's 19th issue of Young Jump magazine announced on Thursday that Satoru Noda's Golden Kamuy manga is ending in three chapters. The 22nd and 23rd combined issues will publish the final chapter, chapter 314, on April 28.

Noda began serializing the historical adventure manga in Young Jump magazine in August 2014. Shueisha will release the 29th volume on April 19. VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in October 2016 and released the 25th volume on February 15. The 26th volume is scheduled to ship on May 17. The manga has a cumulative 19 million copies in circulation.

Geno Studio adapted the manga into three seasons in Spring 2018, Fall 2018, and Fall 2020. The studio also released a few original video animation episodes adapting chapters not appearing in the main anime series. A fourth season by Brain's Base is in production and is scheduled to premiere in October 2022. Crunchyroll and Funimation streamed all three seasons with subtitles and an English dub, respectively.

Golden Kamuy ranked first in the 9th Manga Taisho rankings, received the Grand Prize in the 22nd Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize, and placed seventh in the male readers' division in the 2018 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! rankings.

Synopsis
Saichi Sugimoto is feared as the "Immortal Sugimoto" for his savagery on the battlefield during the Russo-Japanese war, but he is by no means a war hero. Sugimoto has been left to fend for himself after his release from the army for nearly killing a superior officer. Braving the rough terrain of Hokkaido, Sugimoto is now searching for gold in order to keep a promise to his lost brother-in-arms. His efforts have been fruitless for a long time until a mysterious traveler tells him of an urban legend that would rid him of all his troubles.

According to the legend, a criminal stole the gold of the Ainu, the indigenous people of Hokkaido, and hid it away in a location that can only be found when a map—made not from pieces of parchment, but the tattooed skins of escaped convicts—is brought together.

Upon meeting with a young Ainu girl, Asirpa, Sugimoto sets off in search of the tattooed prisoners, but many dangers await as soldiers and mercenaries seek the gold as well. Aided by Asirpa's knowledge of the lands, the two of them depart to find the stolen Ainu gold in a journey of revenge, murder, and greed. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Just so everyone knows, Noda has said that the last three published volumes will be longer than they initially were. So basically, the last arc will be slightly different and also longer in the volumes.

It's been a fun and entertaining ride. Let's see how it ends.

It's GREAT to have a GREAT series ending on a high GREAT note.

Hope the anime will cover the remaining manga chapters without skipping too much.

Just 3 more chapters feels short to end this story.

Seems interesting. I have heard good things about it so, might try it at some point, since it's about to end. Because I don't really like reading manga when still publishing.

What a damn waste, instead of another volume to end it and actually deal with various things in detail, it just ends rushed.

I hope this means the 4th season will adapt the remaining chapters until the end.

Axed or proper ending?

It is definitely a proper ending. Infact golden kamuy already had a pseudo ending before the final arc kick started.

Also 1 year back final arc was already announced

This is making me depressed. I love Golden Kamuy and it makes me so sad when I think how I won't be able to look forward for new chapters every week.
I hope it ends with an amazing finale, I have high hopes for Noda.

How far did the anime adapt so far (up to season 3)?

Season 3 ended around chapter 190. If the season 4 is 24 episode long, then entire manga can be completely adapted by next season
I'm hoping for this then, I'd love to see this whole thing fully adapted one shot

Hmm 3 chapters seems a bit too low to wrap this up completely . I think either noda can use a longer last chapter , or he could do his usual added scenes in the volumes .

Either way , It still has not sunk into me that golden kamuy is ending . Can't think of a life without it , and honestly don't remember about anything before gk came into my life ......

Damn, this has been series already so here's to hoping it ends with a bang!

It'll be nice if there'll be a Season 5 or Season 6 to adapt the entire manga.
