New 'Show By Rock!!' TV Anime Announced

After the final episode of Show By Rock!! Mashumairesh!! on Thursday, a new television anime series titled Show By Rock!! Stars!! was announced. The story will feature multiple bands from the previous Show By Rock!! seasons coming together into one story. A key visual (pictured), cast, and staff were also revealed. The series will broadcast on Tokyo MX, Fuji TV, and others.

Show By Rock!! is based on a smartphone game released in 2012 by geechs and Sanrio. The game discontinued service in December 2019. Square Enix released a sequel for the franchise on March 12 this year titled Show By Rock!! Fes A Live, which has exceeded 1 million downloads.

The franchise has been adapted into three 12-episode TV anime seasons, a short anime, and multiple original net animations. Studio Bones adapted the first two seasons in Spring 2015 and Fall 2016. Kinema Citrus took over production for the third and most recent season, which aired from January 9 to March 26.

Funimation licensed the first three seasons and the short series in North America. The first two seasons and the short have received an English dub.
