TV Anime 'Grand Blue' Announces Cast Members

The official website for the previously announced upcoming Grand Blue TV anime has announced cast members. The anime is slated for this summer.

Iori Kitahara: Yuuma Uchida (Tokyo Ghoul:re)
Kouhei Imamura: Ryouhei Kimura (Nil Admirari no Tenbin)
Shinji Tokita: Hiroki Yasumoto (Megalo Box)
Ryuujirou Kotobuki: Katsuyuki Konishi (Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi)
Chisa Kotegawa: Chika Anzai (Kokkoku)
Nanaka Kotegawa: Maaya Uchida (the High School DxD series)
Azusa Hamaoka: Toa Yukinari (the Berserk series)
Aina Yoshiwara: Kana Asumi (the Yama no Susume series)

Considering the characters they are casting as, some people will have a lot fun. Especially if a certain chapter is animated.

But seriously no Kamiya and Sugita is depressing. They are perfect for Iori and Kouhei..........let's see what happens.

Seeing the latest pv of AoT, Kamiya is reserving his vocal chords on Levi, pretty sure he's busy doing that because of the increased screentime of that character is going to have in the next season.

Glad to see the Uchida siblings casted together in an anime. Reminded me of a video where Yuuma was jokingly saying that he loves her sister romantically XD (Maaya was there sitting next to him at the talk show lol). He is the younger brother but he always teases her Nee-san :P

But no Kamiya as Iori should be a crime. And a Takamatsu-directed anime without Sugita is quite rare.

Also, this is the first time the Uchida siblings are voice acting in the same anime, right? No wait, there's Hantsu x Trash, lol XD

There’s also Fire Emblem Warriors. It’s a game, though.

Anzai Chika (Chisa) came to prominence because of her role as Chaika (Hitsugi no Chika), Merry (Hai to Sensou no Grimgar) and more notably Reina (Hibike! Euphonium). I am assuming she will be using her Merry/Reina voices of calm and collected character for Chisa. I can see Reina bursting out her frustrations as Chisa.

Asumi Kana (Aina) is already very well known for her roles as Popura (Working!!), Nyaruko (Haiyore! Nyaruko-san), Chihiro (Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai), Marika (Nisekoi), Komari (Non Non Biyori), Kaoru (Tamayura) among many other renowned roles. She will most likely be using either her Kaoru or Komari voices for this role as a straight-man character like Aina.

Uchida Maya (Nanaka) is a veteran already. Her range of voice is pretty wide. If we consider she voiced Rikka (Chuunibyou), Rea (Sankarea), Hiyori (Noragami), Koito (Phantom World) or Futaba (Ao Haru Ride) she can easily bring out her best in performing the role of Nanaka who has multiple personalities.

Yukinari Tao (Azusa) is not that well known. I have not seen her any role so can't really say what she would be like but Azusa's role wouldn't be very challenging. I still think this role may break her into prominence just like Reina did for Anzai Chika.

The cast does look good but I'm kinda disappointed that Kamiya isn't voicing Iori.

Havent seen much chika anzai work, but her works on mary(grimgar) was pretty nice, she probably could do chisa pretty well

Suspiciously good selection of seiyu for the show, which does not pretend to anything and is going to be a summer comedy about girls, booze and silly antics.

Well, I am on the losers' team for this one but I am glad that Asumi Kana is voicing Aina. Her character didn't take long to grow in me and I strangely found myself rooting for her even though I know who would be the end game and would become majority of the fans' more adored character. Not that I do not like Chisa, I adore her a lot but somehow I find Aina more adorable so I am hoping to hear Asumi Kana doing her character a lot of justice. :)

Btw, I still wonder when (or if at all) MAL plans to change Aina's character to a Main Character from a supporting one. According to the tankoubon versions' character introduction page, as well as the Afternoon magazine's character details, she has been listed as one of the four main characters of the manga and even though I requested for the change with links and details, MAL never updated them.
