The 12th volume of Fumiaki Maruto and Kurehito Misaki's light novel Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata revealed in its afterword that the series will end with the 13th volume. Maruto also stated the possibility of future works, similar to spin-off series that are independent to the main story.

Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata began publishing under Kadokawa's Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint in July 2012. A manga adaptation drawn by Neet ran for three volumes in Young Ace between February 2013 and May 2014. A second manga adaptation drawn by Takeshi Moriki was serialized in Dragon Age between January 2013 and August 2016, and collected into eight compiled volumes. The series inspired an anime adaptation by A-1 Pictures that was broadcast on Fuji TV's noitaminA programming block in Winter 2015, with a special episode airing before the anime's premiere. A second season is scheduled to premiere on April 14 on the same block.

Aniplex of America licensed the first season for North American distribution, and released the series in two Blu-ray volumes in March and May in 2016. Yen Press licensed the manga adaptation by Moriki in January 2016 and will publish the fifth volume on March 18.

Am I being haunted by some spirit that ends all the types of anime/manga and light novels that I enjoy? If this goes on, I'm not sure if I'll make it through this year >.>

Wow, it doesn't happen so often to see someone having such a terrible taste.

Honestly! Can anybody explain to me on why some anime are just unfinished then we are left with the light novel leftovers? Because this is getting infuriating for me (since I'm a lazy reader). Thanks

I feel you. And I don't even have acces to the light novels, and if I had, it's going to take at least 3 to 4 years for the English official light novel releases to come out. Mann....

Almost certainly no season three for the main story with the last novel coming out soon, too bad. A spinoff might get anime though.

It's better this way, it did its job and did it well, the first well executed genre reconstruction for the harem subgenre. And it was needed, after years of deconstruction and auto-pilot protestants*.

It had good impact already. Short means effective.

*by protestants I mean shows that carry on through the mire of tropes as normal without acknowledging reconstructive or deconstructive movements; I'm looking at you, Nisekoi

If the second season of the anime adaptation is released mainly for the fans, then good. But if it is released mainly for promotional purposes, then what a waste of funds thrown at producing the second season. The second season adaptation could be more useful if the LN would run at least one more volume. But it also promotes the manga adaptation, the coming spin-offs, and the older LNs, so it's not much of a waste.

Kinda curious to see how much the second season will adapt the LN. I don't expect them to reach that far though.

The first season adapted the first four novels. This will probably be the same.

Heck, It's like it's already the End of the World.
A lot of manga and light novels I know was ending.
Now I wonder how much of the LN would be animated on Season 2.

And of course Utaha-senpai ship will sail... Inside my heart... :(

Damn... I will try to read it... When I watching the anime adaptation...

Well, there's a spin-off manga where she's the main heroine and the other girls are absent... ;)
And the funny thing is that manga is so awesome ..great art+great characters
