The Twitter account of Comic Blade magazine announced that Kozue Amano's manga series Amanchu! will be adapted into a TV anime in Summer 2016. The series has been serialized since the January 2009 issue of the magazine, and there are nine volumes of the manga in print.

The official website of Amano's Aria manga series also published commentary by the anime's production staff in conjunction with the announcement of the adaptation. Director Kenichi Kasai admits that scuba diving, the theme of the manga, is an unknown subject to him, but he looks forward to studying it more closely. Kasai also indicated that Japan's Izu Peninsula will be used as the model location for the festival.

Synopsis
Hikari Kohinata is a cheerful 15-year-old girl who lives near the ocean, and she spends much of her time diving as a result. On her first day of high school, she meets a teacher who also likes scuba diving. There's also the 16-year-old classmate, Futaba, who gets dragged along in Hikari's maelstrom as soon as they meet at school. Most of the manga so far details the relationship between the two girls, which quickly seems to move into romantic two-girl friendship-territory.

Ehh, shoujo ai..

If Amanchu! is to be labeled shoujo-ai, you might as well call K-ON! and Cardcaptor Sakura yuri.

Is this YURI?

If so....YES PLS!
No, it's not. At least, not up to chapter 38. It's more like "two girls that are close enough friends to warrant the existence of yuri doujinshi".

All your doing is feeding peoples expectation. You have to understand that most people don't know this series. But they have an expectation in concern to J.C.Staff - that this will be ecchi. And you rambling on and on about some kind of purity that in your mind Aria has and Amanchu not - enforces the image that this will be an ecchi series, which Amanchu is not.

Heck even I who has seen and read both Aria and Amanchu don't have a clue about your obscure understanding why Aria apparently is more pure than Amanchu.
first of all, forgive me. i just kinda mad at people looking down on J.C. Staff and prised aria author and said rip for author. maybe my opinion become biassed because of that.

as i said, AMANCHU IS NOT ECCHI but what people expect is EXACT CARBON COPY OF ARIA. i just don't want people rant "OMG, WHAT happened with those unneeded fanservice. FUCK YOU JC STAFF." and again as i said.

. i just hope people ready with everything will happened since amanchu have those theme and people are people.

The Aria + Tamayura director, and the H&C + Nodame Cantabile director. I have faith that this adaptation retains the spirit of the manga ~

Two great directors are collaborating to make this masterpiece? Who's on board on this hype train with me?!

A series about diving, huh? I'm definitely interested, so I'll be sure to check it out when it airs.

i don't said that it will be full fanservice or something, or it will be ecchi or man pleased things, but people expect something as pure as aria just because have same author with almost absolute zero fanservice. they dispise J.C. Staff, and said RIP HYPE even they not even read the series. it's not misinformation, i just reveal that amanchu will not as pure as aria which is people hype for, not amanchu series itself. i dislike people like that the most.

what i mean it will not as same as aria is the visual content, theme and characterization. it will not like aria at all. it will be have more visible body gesture, sea and inside it, school life, extra, ETC. the plot, character development, and atmosphere building itself doesn't really different with aria as i said before.
