Third Season of 'Senki Zesshou Symphogear' Airs Summer 2015

Following today's Nico Live stream of Senki Zesshou Symphogear G, the official site for the sequel was updated with new information. The third season will be titled Senki Zesshou Symphogear GX: Believe in Justice and Hold a Determination to Fist. and is scheduled to air this Summer. Cast and staff members from the previous season will be returning.

The series' first season, Senki Zesshou Symphogear: Meteoroid Falling, Burning, and Disappear, then…, originally aired during Winter 2012. A sequel then followed in Summer 2013 titled Senki Zesshou Symphogear G: In the Distance, That Day, When the Star Became Music…. Both seasons completed at 13 episodes.

Symphogear is basically what anime is to what Earth Defense Force is in video games, it's an ultra campy, fun series with moments that are or border on so bad it's good and knows what it is. As for the lewdness, it's not vary fanservicey but it has 2 nice lolis in Shirabe and Kirika.

Symphogear isn't even very lewd though. There's like... maybe 2 scenes in S1 (naked Fine, Biki and Miku bathing), 1 in G? Maybe the henshin??? Haven't seen Cross Ange, but I never found Symphogear to have "too much ero" at all.

Too much ero and insanely bad writing, so it doesn't qualify as a normal, non-hentai anime. But it's not explicit enough to qualify as hentai either. Symphogear has more ecchi than cross ange,and cross ange's development and plot is way better as well, comeback when you're a human and not a sheep.

Because it is an ultra-campy tale about cute girl who turn into magical mecha musume idols who defeat dumb looking monsters via the power of cheesy J-Pop while having lesbian innuendos in the meantime. It's so bad it's good again.

Season 1 had me disappointed over wasted potential, but I ended up watching it anyway to see how bad of a trainwreck it would be. For season 2 I went with zero expectations and got some wonderfully fun, dumb entertainment. Now I'm actually hyped for season 3 and its determination to fist. Fist me all you want, glorious Symphogear.
