Man! I wish all long running manga and light novel series could get complete anime coverage like Initial D! (I'm looking at you, Ah! My Goddess!, Full Metal Panic!, and Spice and Wolf...)
+1
And goddamn, 5 seasons, 5 OVA's, 1 anime movie, and 1 live-action movie... I never knew Initial D was nearly this popular.
You're kidding, right? It has one of the largest cult followings for any animanga series ever. Let's not even start with the craziness that is Arcade Stage.

As for this news, good for the fans. However, after I TRIED to like it after 5 or 6 episodes, but it just wasn't for me. The races are nice, but the characters made it difficult for me to like it.
I highly recommend you to give it another chance someday. At first I dropped it after a few episodes, for the same reason as yours, but then a few years later I went back into it, and it's now one of my favorite.

And I knew it. I saw that TV adaptation coming since it ended. I was right! :D
I wish it will be as good as 4th Stage though. I didn't like the new character designs and animation as much in 5th stage. But I doubt they'll change it back.

That would be awesome.
