Sunrise's New Robot Anime 'Valvrave The Liberator' Due in April

Sunrise has announced a new robot anime "Kakumeiki Valvrave (Valvrave The Liberator)". It will be aired from April 2013.

Not impressed by the trailer if I have to be perfectly honest. The preview poster made it look very exciting, I was hoping for something for something along the lines of Gundam 00 (which I maintain to be the best mecha series ever) but upon having read the synopsis of this upcoming series, I just cannot bring myself to be excited for it and will thus likely not watch it purely because high school kids and mecha rarely go along well together.

Mecha is a genre I feel I've watched enough to be bored of, but the OP/ED line-up is far too good to pass by. Will definitely give this a try.

Katsura Hoshino did the characters design? That kind of unexpected.

For some reason that mecha kind remind me of Barnaby's suit a little, probably the red & the pointy green thing.

Am i the only one who thought the best thing about SUNRISE was the fact they used drawn stocks for mecha and not CGI? sure CGI is more fluid, but i dont really think it looks better, it just looks out of place

The CG mecha looks alright I guess. I don't hate it as much I hate the generic character design in this show.
