In terms of a purely sad scene that broke my heart, Sora yori mo Tooi Basho. The emails. That episode ruined me.

Saddest episode is Episode 10 of Violet Evergarden. But the Single Saddest Scene that I've ever watched?

I'm honestly not too sure...

Most of the scenes in "Happy Birthday: Inochi Kagayaku Toki" were very sad, but one scene was even sadder than the rest. It is single-handedly the saddest Anime ever created.

I feel like the Anohana scene doesn't give sad tears but maybe more wholesome tears.

Me too dude, great moment.

There are some pretty emotionally powerful scenes I've seen but truly sad ones I could mention would be the Devilman Crybaby's ending, Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu's episode 11 in the second season, and Monster's episode 71.

Only scene that has made me ugly cry. Violet Evergarden's episode 10 came pretty close, but nowhere near the level of sorrow I felt during AS's penultimate episode.

Damn it, who left this bowl of onions here?

Clannad. The time where everyone attended the wedding even though they hardly remember who the wedding is for. I cried lots there.

Also, Plastic Memories where the kid finally ate the cake. Those are some of the times I really cried.

The saddest scene I've ever watched is the ending of Plastic Memories. I wouldn't say I was crying, I never do during any anime/movie or anything, but I was tearing up during that scene.

But of course, there were several other really sad ones, that made me tear up, but not as much as the above. For example:
- Clannad: After Story episode 16 & 18
- The end of Angel Beats, when they were saying goodbye and slowly disappeared one by one

Ansatsu Kyoushitsu (Assassination Classroom) s2 ep 24

Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai( i want to eat your pancreas)

Saber Marionette J to X episode 25. pretty much was the conclusion of the first show i've ever watched.

Final episodes of K-On 2nd season.

Violet Evergarden last episode! When she sent a letter to Gilbert, I cried watching that scene, very touching and the viewers could see how much she has changed. In my opinion, the words she conveyed just simply right and beautiful.

True. The ending of Angel beats really made me tear up. And I also don't cry watching anime, I just feel really sad and on some occasions such as the one above I do tear up a bit.

there are soooo many scenes that make me cry, but a lot of times it's more just me crying because of how emotional the scene is in general, not necessarily because i'm sad (sometimes i tend to happy cry a lot more than sad cry i think lol) but two i can think of that had me sobbing just from pure /sadness/ are:

jojo - kakyoin's final moments when he is thinking about his family and how they'll never see him again :(

hxh - in the chimera ant arc when killua starts crying bc gon told him like 'you have it easy since it means nothing to you' and he feels so broken cause he doesn't know how to help gon :( that shit hurted i just wanted to give my poor baby the biggest hug omg

I personally have quite a few:
Steins;Gate

Clannad After Story
Well, most of the second half of Clannad After story had me tearing up, but episode 18 was the most memorable of the feels.
Kobato.
Most of the ending episodes were heartbreaking, to say the least.

There are more, but those are the first ones that come to mind.
Summertime days, passing gently
Sunlight, leading to an encounter;
Dreams that don't want to end
Continue onwards toward the next day
While she waits in the air.
