sakurasou was the first romcom i watched, only reason why i gave it a 9. If I rewatched it now I think I would give it a 7 since I've seen almost all the tropes romcoms have to offer. But Toradora is a classic, the characters are developed very well before they drown you with the melodrama.

if you liked naruto check out my hero as well. If you loved one im pretty sure you'll love the other.

If you're into romance I highly recommend you check out Toradora and Sakurasou my guy.

Thank You. I try to have a diverse taste in anime by trying new series that catches my attention. For example, I started watching Given and its an underrated show considering that this season is stacked with good shows.

At least I see that everyone is so supportive! Some studios are even offering their help. And apparently they gatered a lot of money.

Gurren Lagann sounds more and more interesting. I like post apocalyptic settings even if it's so depressing. But it makes cool stories that's for sure. Are the movies recaps or are they their own stories? Should I watch them after? :o

Exactly. I can't wait to see what other plans he has up his sleeve but, to be honest, I'm WAY interested to see Cooler and how they power scale him. It's already been confirmed he is indeed canon, so it should be fun!

You too my dude, great having to revisit some moments in Hunter x Hunter :>
Monarch-Reli Jul 19, 9:06 AM
Exactly! And believe it or not, Frieza does have character development, but the development just makes him a slightly more humble villain in the sense of "okay... I know I'm not the STRONGEST in the universe anymore, but I can still rule mostly everything with certain limitations!" He has legit grown as a character and it's amazing to see. One of my biggest examples is in Super Broly, which I wont spoil if you haven't seen it haha.

To be honest, it doesn't seem like Freiza wants absolute power anymore. I would once again tell you why, but don't know if you've seen Broly haha.

I did not remember the Pakunoda not wanting them dead tho wow.
Yes, also they weren't in the mood too since they came to the auction not to cause trouble.
Despite being one of the strongest and all.
Monarch-Reli Jul 18, 3:22 PM
Actually, well, Oda said he's almost 80% done with One Piece so you have about 5-10 years left we think haha..... goddamn my beard will be gray by the time this is over.... >.>

But I see you're a frieza fan! :D To be honest I feel kinda bad for him and wish he'd change one day but it's just not in his character haha
Monarch-Reli Jul 18, 6:57 AM
Hmm, I'd say actually Greed Island had a bit of that too, if only in short burst haha.

REALLY??! Oh man, they say it's a curse when you get attached to a Hunter x Hunter character because you will never see their journey end due to Togashi. xD Personally I'm a BIG Chrollo fan, ain't that a coincidence.

For the love of GOD, when you get the time read One Piece. It never gets easier anytime I say it, but it's the closest anime has to The Lord of the Rings, and never fails to be good at any point whatsoever I can think of, at least to an extremely noticable degree. It's NOT THAT long, and despite popular belief you can actually read the series out of order. Need any advice or got any questions--I'm right here. xP

Damn, I'm not in a good mood because of that story about the fire at kyoto animation studio. What a way to start the day. :/

I never really watched Naruto but I can understand. I have the feeling that the creator managed to make an interesting setting and characters. I like when someone take the time to create a living breathing world like that. This is pretty inspiring. What is the most interesting setting you saw in an anime? I'm always amazed by all the crazy things happening in Attack on titan.

Apart from Higurashi, there's also the Monogatari and Fage franchises that did that for me. The world in those anime is so intriguing.

Obito fanboy I am, hmm, actually, I'd say Madara's story and reason for doing the things he does is more "fleshed out" than Obioto's, actually, I'd say they're about even because their stories are interlinked with each other. I think I like Obito more for what he does to Naruto on a thematic level. Obito is the culmination of everything Naruto has faced up to this point because he literally created the ideology Naruto follows, and abandoned it, deeming it a lie and not worth saving. Think about that. The person who CREATED the ideals Naruto stood for, who changed Kakashi, gave up in his beliefs and deemed that the human condition cannot be fixed. Obito is unique and different from Madara's because Madara was already pessimistic, Obito was optimistic in a way no other Naruto villain was. He's not like Sasuke who had a fucked up past, or gaara or neji, Obito is truly scary because he could be argued to be, not Naruto's opposite, but his final form, someone who walked the same journey he did and paid the price. He has a perspective NO other antagonist in the series personally has with Naruto, he challenged him on an ideological level that nobody else could touch. I cannot stress this enough. Obito literally WAS Naruto. Not a mirror image of him. He was him. That's why he pictures himself as him. He is legitimately, without a doubt, my favorite villain in anime. Sorry for gushing, I love him haha.

I actually think in theory Naruto should be one of the greatest anime series of all time, however, Kishimoto's writing is somewhat incosistent and it occasionally dragged it down. It's funny, there's so many characters that are so identifiable with so many intricate ideals from something else in their life, honestly, naruto is much more similar to greek mythology than most other things in anime, specifically Greek.

Of course! I finally have someone to fanboy about shounen with haha. xP

Now Hunter x Hunter fanboy time! :D Do you think that Hunter x Hunter's first 21 episodes (A.K.A first arc) is boring? I personally don't think it is, but only after you've watched the series in full, it actually establishes key traits for the character's, such as Gon not even being phased by people dying around him which hints at the darker aspects of his psyche, Leorio's backstory, Hisoka foreshadowing darker aspects of the series, etc.
Monarch-Reli Jul 17, 7:02 AM
I see a man of good shounen villain taste. ;D

I'm a BIG fan of Madara but prefer Obito slightly more, most likely due to Obito having more resolution than... Madara... cuz ya know.. Kaguya... *Sigh*

Glad to see some Naruto fans are still not afraid to be, ya know, fans of it, it got a lot of flack in the past few years and some people can be picked on for it but I can say without a doubt it has some of my favorite villains in anime, if not my favorites.
Nubiellee Jul 16, 10:07 AM
Yes, it can be frustrating. At least some theories are interesting. Sometimes it's so complex I don't even know if the answers were actually in the anime or not haha. I had this feeling with Ergo Proxy and Serial Experiments Lain but I still liked those anime and it's giving me an excuse to watch them again someday. I rarely rewatch things so that's saying something!

60 episodes? Yes please. While sometimes the lengh of some anime can scare me a little I could watch Jojo every week while it's airing and wouldn't mind to be honest. Even if it would probably be full of flashbacks and fillers.

Don't worry I saw a lot of people doing that on the forums. I'm a patient person but I want to be able to enjoy as soon as I can all those new anime and I like how I can watch so many different stories each week. But I like to binge some finished anime on the side too. Like you said, being fully immerse is awesome. What was the anime that you were the most invested in? I finished both seasons of Higurashi in only a few days because I was so immersed in this story.

NVM haha, everyone has a different system of their own rating, so no problem. ;) I on the other hand tend rate a lot more differently, like when I enjoy a show thoroughly enough to keep myself hooked into it all the time while watching it, I always give it a 10 even if I do think that there several better shows that it. Like, while I do think that Code Geass, MHA and Gurren Lagann are definitely inferior to FMA:B (which is my is my all time favoutite anime) I still gave them a 10 cuz I enjoyed those shows a lot. After all, I can still use the tag system (which is present beside the scores) to make it clear that I prefer one show over another even though I have them the same score. Like for FMA:B, via my tag I have made it clear enough that it's my all time favourite anime and an unparalleled masterpiece, even though I rated sveral other shows 10 as well. :)
