Just as the title says.

Though i know it's a Japanese industry, for me personally i'd love to see more anime set in 1930's-1950s America.

I really enjoy the industrial era of Europe and the medieval times. Think the recent Princess Principal and Spice and Wolf.

It's old and in some ways obviously dated but overall it was a surprisingly decent watch imo.
I probably regret this post by now.

Isekai/fantasy is fairly common though

For me I would say the African bush or something like that. Could be interesting.

What's the difference?

Steampunk is always good, a second season of Princess Principal would be nice.

I'd also like to see a recount of the Second Sino-Japanese War from a Japanese perspective because I'm edgy like that.

Latin America and the Caribbean. or just tropical locales in general, for more than just beach episodes.

The U.S. state of Florida, in particular, has a reputation for weirdness that would seem like a perfect candidate for interesting anime plots and interesting anime setting imagination, yet is pretty much unheard of in anime so far. (The closest is one Jojo arc that's so far manga-only.)

For the broader region there's El Cazador de la Bruja and Michiko & Hatchin, but that's about it.

For tropical regions in general, there's a few more, but still not that many. Japan itself does have some islands in the tropics/subtropics, and many tropical islands are scattered throughout the western Pacific, but they are rare for actual settings (I can think of Umi Monogatari in the Ryukyu islands and Rocket Girls in the Solomon Islands), with the exception of temporary visits by characters who are based elsewhere.

(To be fair, it's not just Japan that thinks of the tropics like this; the rest of the U.S. sees Florida and the Caribbean as vacation destinations whose main attractions are beach resorts, bongos, and bikini babes.)
Avatar character is Gabriel from Gabriel DropOut.

I think I'd like more shows set around the colonization of the west in Japan and maybe some super early Japanese stuff (before emperors existed)

also setting-wise, it would be cool to see something set in Africa or in South America. Maybe something in the sea that doesn't involve mermaids.
steampunk in Princess Principal was cool, I agree I'd like more of that

maybe also something like in Final Fantasy VII?

or a setting purely in the forest, no going outside of it, a forest kinda like the one in Made in Abyss

Animes based in the Ancient History, something like an anime situated in the Ancient Greece, the Ancient Roma, the Ancient Egypt or even Mesopotamia. I haven't seen many realted animes based in that historic era of the humankind, and I think they would be really interesting.
I would also like to see an anime based or ambiented in the historic Spain, since it hasn't been explored either.

Well I'm a history nerd so there's plenty of settings I'd like to see (provided of course that you know....it isn't all awful). Ancient Rome and Byzantium are of particular interest and as far as I'm aware their isn't exactly much on either (I know there's a short show about a time travelling Roman bathhouse designer) especially Byzantium.

Hidamari Sketch does that nicely. Each episode takes place in a random day of the year, and not necessarily in chronological order either. I would also like to see more anime do something similar to this.

More steampunk anime \o/

according to anidb there are only 74 :(
I'm watching anime since 2012. I also play games, sometimes.

Don't bother me if you want to 'become friends' or things like that.
It's tiresome. I know you just want to collect some meaningless numbers.

Steampunk, post-apocalyptic, futuristic and space. 1900s America also sounds appealing.

I'd also love to see more anime focused on a city. Something like Durarara, Kekkai Sensen, Hamatora, etc. maybe? I don't know.

have you seen all of the episode so far? It got much more interesting after the first two episodes if you ask me, which I'd agree were pretty mundane and unexciting. But since then it became one of my favorites this season from the ones I'm watching.

And if you want another setting with tiny people, you could try this ^^
