is very gud 9/9

liked the idea of acceptance surrounding the show (that's a superficial way to call it, as it had even more ideas to it.)
never got bored although the show was rather calm.
not flawless but definitely good.

I ended up liking this anime a lot more than I expected to.
A bit more fan service than my taste, but the heartwarming moments balanced it out.
I really appreciated the subtle showcase of same-sex relationships.
It was so cute seeing Kobayashi tell Tohru she wants her to meet her parents.
Really sad though when Tohru was thinking about Kobayashi's life span..

Would've loved to see more development of Elma,
some more of the friendship between Fafnir and Takiya,
and of course the addition of Iruru..

But I think they didn't really have time to fit it in,
it would've just felt even more rushed.

Overall I really enjoyed this anime,
really hope we get a season 2, but until then I'll be reading the manga!

Just an absolutely heartwarming and pleasant anime. I don't typically like Slice of Life but this one was really nicely done. It was quiet without being boring, slow without feeling like it was a drag to watch.

And Kanna. Protect the thicc, dragon loli <3

You'll meet your death in no disguise
It may come as a small surprise
There will be no compromise for you"

This episode was epic! especially the OST used when Tooru started fighting her dad! The Emperor of Demise!
That despair thoughts of Tooru was awesome! It felt like she's fallen to the dark side!
Kobayashi's life got harder if Tooru-maid is not around!
That was brave of Kobayashi to intervene the dragons doing total destruction on that island!
That hug by Tooru to Kobayashi was great!
5/5.
8/10.
I hope there's a Season 2!

If not for the preview in the prior ep, I would've been a little taken aback by the abrupt seriousness of the episode, but I thought this finale was done pretty well overall.

Seeing Kobayashi stand up to Tohru's father, even after that "warning shot" he gave her... in the face of near-instant death, it would've been understandable (and within the show's themes, imo) for Kobayashi to back off out of sheer human fear. Glad to see she's made of much braver stuff than that.

Even more glad to see Kobayashi ask Tohru to go with her to see her parents! Would love to witness that interaction take place. Introducing mom and pop to your uh, dragon maid, would be pretty awkward but I'm betting her parents will be really cool about it.

All in all a pretty damn good series. Some iffy parts but the comedy was mostly on-point and I loved almost every character they introduced. A solid 8 for me.

Nice last episode:). Kobayashi was not afraid to take the defense of Tooru. BTW Tooru's father was nicer than expected.

"Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon" was such a great anime, heartwarming and always funny. I loved the interactions between all the characters.
Fafnir is clearly my favorite character, he had very little texts to say , but every actions that he made were hilarious.
And of course, Kanna is the cutest character of all time.

I will miss the opening, it was so catchy.

So, when Tohru came into this world, 4 more dragons followed her within a couple of weeks, and who knows how many are still to come. They assimilated well and abandoned their ideology based on the inferiority of humans, who they declared war on, so they are moderate dragons, and maybe the next 10 or more dragons will be moderate too, but Tohru's father realizes not all of them will be like Tohru, and some of them will come to conquer, they may also radicalize local moderate dragons to increase their numbers. And it's not like the dragon migration is controlled in any way. Humans should probably built some sort of a magical wall to keep the dragons out...

Ok, that's enough /pol/ for today.

I've been hemming and hawing over wether this or Demi-chan wa Kataritai is my AOTS, and while i still have issues with some aspects of Kobayashi-san chi no Maid Mragon, this 13th episode pushed the latter to the top spot.

I'm not even sure i can articulate why, but i was in floods of tears.

I wish the show had more cool amazingly animated "action" sequences like in the first three-four episodes, but it sadly did not have any more of those later on.

It was still a surprisingly entertaining show with likeable characters and an overall very comfy atmosphere comparable to Lucky Star.

8/10.

I was so glad they hugged at the end.

You know the show is good, when it leaves you wanting for more.

Even though I found this episode to be a bit lacking, it still wrapped up the show quite nicely.

One really neat thing was the 'foreshadowing'. The shots before Tohru goes to market were really really amazing.

Kanna looked so freaking adorable while she was playing with her natto.

Oh no, Tohru's father has arrived and took her away.

It was nice seeing Kanna left behind, she's like Kobayashi's daughter but everything seems incomplete without Tohru. Kobayashi realizes that.

Kanna can cook her own rice and eats mountains of it.

Ooh did they visit Kobayashi's parents at the ending credits?

I loved this series A LOT MORE than I thought I would. I thought it was going to be MOE trash with fan service but the story was pretty good, I wish there could be a second season.

Tohru's dad is right in my opinion. The Dragons that have come into Kobayashi's dimension have played nice so far, but it's only a matter of time before someone with much less scruples over the rules tries to make a bid for world domination. Sure, the lack of magic in Kobayashi's dimension helps curb the lower level stuff from trying anything, but it pretty much guarantees that whatever tries it is going to be as powerful as our dragons. Considering Tohru can bring about the end of the world all by her lonesome, i'd say the worlds military is not equipped for such a threat.

Of course this is a cute comedy series, so meta knowledge dictates that probably isn't going to happen, but in the context of the story its definitely a possibility.

That was a lovely episode. Kobayashi getting her Tohru back was so sweet. But wow Tohru's father has no chill, he finger beams Kobayashi which for a moment I thought would leave her terrified but instead it made Kobayashi speak out her feelings.

Overall the show was very fun, adorable and one of my favorites for the Winter season. I'll give it a 9/10, hopefully if season 2 comes, they show more Kanna, Saikawa and Elma.

Pretty good finale for a pretty great series. It's a shame to say, but I'd probably have a higher opinion of the show if it cut back on the original scenes. Things like Takiya and Fafnir hanging out and the house moving were welcome additions, but things like the sports festival, christmas, new years and most of this episode just weren't up to par in my mind. The comedy and the pacing was simply weaker in the latter half of the series.

I thought there will be no battle, but damn the fight sure is short but fun to watch (better than Fairy Tail).
And I found a new loli to be put on my favorite list, Kanna-chan!
It's a bit sad if you think about the relationship between dragon and human...human does not live as long as a dragon so...going to be sad when the time come.
Overall, 9/10

Considering there are more characters to be added and the manga is still going. I wouldn't be surprised if they created a season 2. There are a lot more plots and events they could play out.

Not to mention there are a few plots and stories created exclusively for the anime (like the Christmas episode)

I remember watching the first two episodes and being reasonably underwhelmed over how predictable and unoriginal the whole yuri bait, tail, tsukkomi jokes were. Now I've just been crying for 3 episodes straight because the whole thing together just creates this sweet, cuddling, warm and nice SoL; Christmas episode and this are just making me melt away. None of the characters were special, but what was is the fact that you are allowed to see a bit of Kobayashi's lack of personality turning into a will of attempting to show more emotional effort, as well as her whole life shaping her into someone a bit more fun than just a wall.

To sum up the story, Kobayashi-san is still a boring wall, but now with some dank drawings and colors on it. And supporting characters are cute when they're all in the same room.

Ok this turned way too serious in the final episode. I was watching this because it was cute and funny (and looked beautiful as expected from Kyoani) not because of the story(it was nice to find out why Tohru was staying with Kobayashi though). They should have ended it after 12 and used this 13th episodes as start for the next season/special/ova/whatever.

All in all in was still great. Although as I said the serious ending was a bit disappointing. Was hoping for more fun and cuteness for a final episode.

Ep felt like a different show. Still good osts & parent relationship was well done, spurring Kobayashi to visit her parents. Unique sense of time for each species.
Still find it weird there's a lot more boing sfx than even ecchi harems, duno if a manga or directing choice. The start & middle episodes were funnest, where new dragons mixed into the dynamic & butt heads, and Kanna's yuri adventures.

Almost two weeks since this anime finished and still hurts just to think about it, I'm gonna miss this anime so much, I can't forget the expectations and hype for a new episode every wednesday (practically it was the only reason to wake up that day lol). but seriously, I have no words to describe how much I enjoyed this anime, it got me since episode 1.

Now about this final episode, I think its perfect in its own way, altought I would like to see a love kiss fron Torhu and Kobayashi, or at least that Kobayashi end up eating the tail meat, oh well, hopefully in a season 2.

Another Great animation by KyoAni, very heartwarming and calming series. The finale was great, Kobayashi steped up like an older sister defending her little one. I guess Kobayashi is officially a Dragon whisperer ? she even made what so called "Emperor of Demise" yield to her words.

Thinking about how someday Kobayashi will grow old eventually and Tooru will go back to her world since Kobayashi is no longer with her is kinda sad, but can't agree more with Tooru, you gotta treasure what you have at the moment and stop overthinking. Kinda curious about the other world where Tooru came from, but knowing this is a slice of life anime i bet we didn't get to see a glimpse of the other world and the battles between humans and dragons.

10/10 anime from start to finish. Any time emotion was a prominent part of the scene it was always handled in the most caring way; never forced. The humour so often hit the mark as well. I just love everything about it.

It's rare I 10 something without it having some interesting story or major plot point, but anything that manages to get me to feels territory deserves it. Somehow this show manages to intertwine slice of life with a group of characters that almost act like a family. Kinda like Usagi Drop.

That, plus a dub that shows off how well english VAs can perform, well, I can't knock this one down a point even with its minor flaws. I'd eat continuous seasons of this up the same way I eat Yuru Yuri up.

I haven't call an anime overrated in a very long time, I'd use that label on this show. I just don't get what makes this show special, like, what makes it stand out from the other similar anime? Is it the animation? The dark undertone? The fantasy twist? Or is it because KyoAni finally breaks out of their generic (same-face syndrome) artstyle? Are the fans really depraved of a "dark horse" anime every season that they'd look for even a remotely small difference to call it "omfg best animu it's different"?

For a comedy anime, it's dull. I dislike the inconsistent tone that this show present, pretending to be dark and emotional while generally remained rather comedic. The occasional emotional sob-ey scene was cringey rather than, well.. emotional. It's hard to take a series seriously when it's begging you NOT to take it seriously for most of the entire series. A good example would be Non Non Biyori, it doesn't pull a lot of "emotional" scene, but when it does, it gets people going.. reason being both the comedic/slice of life scene and the emotional scene were grounded in reality, as in within their own limit, it doesn't jump from one to another with a snap of a finger.

Kobayashi is a boring character, and she's suffering from anime archetype where a character is not allowed to display wide range of emotion, especially on her face where she was forced to have this dead emotionless face on for the majority of the series, where by the end of the series during the climax, she had to display an emotion she never showed of being capable of.. as someone pointed out, it's much cringe, instead of being feelsy, it feels out of place.

The drama was also handled poorly for the score it got. "Tohru is mai maido!!" as Kobayashi said to Tohru's dad, who raised her for many, many years compared to Kobayashi who, well, took care of her for a few weeks max? OKAY! The flashback that showed how Kobayashi made that pact to Tohru was also somewhat being retconned I feel, it was just a generic flashback where there was no stake, no real emotion where the only purpose was not to show a much more possible situation where Kobayashi could've survived a dragon, but to make it a goal to complete the flashback.

Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon was average.

edit: oh yeah, I don't know about you guys but the fact that Tohru wanted Kobayashi to eat her tail was.. frankly, really creepy. They keep bringing up that joke.. it really creep me out, every single time.

Well, that was a pretty sweet ending. I felt like the conflict with Tohru's dad was a bit rushed, but just a bit. The emotional part of the conflict had sufficient build up, I believe. Tohru stood up for herself against her family, and Kobayashi had her back. I believe this was a very relaxing show with really polished and comfy visuals and solid character writing, at least in the case of the main duo. The bond these two share and the dynamic between them is absolutely lovely, not to mention how important they are in jumpstarting character development for one another. Thanks to Kobayashi and Tohru (and sometimes Kanna), this show is like a hot cup of chocolate milk for the soul.
