Saw your thread about light novels, and I want to get into them myself.

Any light novels you recommend? I prefer ones that are completed and I don't really care about the genre

American cartoons will never have anywhere near the appeal anime does for me, so no point in watching loll

idr why i was watching CSI... i think i was still in the "i can't let ppl know im into anime" phase during that time, so i probably watched it to have something else to talk about

the 2nd time i ever came, was to a picture from that site ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).... and i still have the picture.... lol... pfft, i still have the first picture ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
but idr what the site was called for that one

wait, who is older, me or you?

yea man, when i was a kid after pokemon and digimon came out, for the most part all i cared about as far as cartoons was anime. w/e channel i found anime on i watched it lol, including anime unleashed from back when TechTV was a thing lol

i haven't watched an american cartoon in probably a decade, and i was never into TV drams altho i did actually watch CSI alot my first year of college lol. the other thing i was heavily into other than anime were animal documentaries but since Steve Irwin died and Jeff Corwin stopped his series those stopped being a regular thing for me

just nothing really grabs me like anime always has lol... i still have ecchi pictures from 13 years ago back when Windows 98 was still a thing for us xD

lol i was arguably the best ness in the state... maybe i still am, especially since almost no one uses him anymore.... i was the best diddy in the state back in brawl and was even ranked 2nd one period

you HAD TO play defensive in brawl unless you were metaknight lol... and even then, you had to against some characters

i doubt anyone on this site is highly social outside their own circle of friends lol

EcchiGodMamster Sep 19, 2016 8:50 PM
oh ok, well i've heard of her, i think i had back in brawl... i can't remember if she still plays sm4sh

ah well damn, i could never leave the smash community, even though i don't "practice" anymore, i still watch streams and videos all the time as well as go to the odd tourney and always support my crewmates and the upcoming players

i know or have met pretty much everyone lol, including most of the international players who have come here

heres a throwback lol

You linked this video( in the "Giant Robots in Anime" thread. Do you have any other suggestions that might be similar to "Visceral combat"? I took note of Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince.

To me from the episodes I could stand it's just a bunch of tropes that have worked really well in the past bunched together in something that tries waaay too hard to be like them. It made me feel really uncomfortable watching it. Like, not in a good way since some shows do it on purpose to create an atmosphere, but in this case in a bad way, I don't really know how to explain it. Especially when Subaru tries to be Araragi-ish and makes like fourth wall breaking jokes (I think i's not fourth wall breaking, just something similar but I don't recall the exact name) to look smart and funny but it doesn't work well, it feels forced, it comes from nowhere. I know he's an otaku, he plays games, so he saying that shouldn't feel forced, but it somehow is, and it's really weird...
The animation is really good and the soundtrack is fine, I'll give it that. But everything else, the substantial part, doesn't work.

I know someone will get mad at me anyways, but this is just what I think. I'm okay if anyone else enjoys it. Not everyone likes or thinks the same things.

Are you sure it's not just your mindset going in? It's like you want to hate him so you end up hating him kind of thing. I know that's happened to a lot of my friends.

For instance, I told one of my friends that the protagonist of Maoyuu Maou Yuusha was pretty dumb and OP as fuck. He had just came from One Punch man, thinking that anime was OK but didn't like Saitama. When watching Maoyuu he had this mindset that he was going to absolutely hate Yuusha, and he did, even though that protagonist is fantastic.

What I'm saying is, Re:Zero's not some copycat case with no identity. The Light Novels existed before the anime for erased existed, and Subaru not saying nerdy things every once in a while is the best way to show that he was an otaku in the previous world.

Yeah, I always go with an open mind to any show. I don't want to think anything is bad just because it's popular or anything like that. I really wanted to like this show, that's why I didn't drop it in the first episode. I kept giving it chances till the four one maybe? But it gave me this weird and uncomfortable feeling all the ti
