I'm going to do a big catch up like I said up there, is 3.5× speed overboard? I need to watch 90 episodes by the time I finish my binge, do u think it's going to ruin my experience too much?

There will always be people with more anime in your list, there's no point in trying to be le PRO anime watcher :DDDDDDDDDDDd

Unless you are watching some long anime from before 1995, I don't see how fast speed can be even remotely watchable/enjoyable.

What the fuck is the point, do you just watch anime to fill your list, has it gone past the point of enjoyment and into a competition?

Nah dude that doesn't make sense. Why don't you just try watching anime while asleep or on mute and without subtitles.

I strongly suggest that you should just watch the last episode at .05 speed.

Protip: Just read the episode synopsis on wiki and then watch an AMV to add an anime to your list, that way it's even faster and it's still a better overall experience than watching it sped up.
I probably regret this post by now.

yes that is a very rational approach

i also suggest two monitors so you can double up your anime

i mean if you "need" to then it sounds very serious.. by all means you should do it

Why would you watch something like that? If the show is boring for you, just drop it.

Better to put an anime on auto-play, then go to bed. That next morning, add the anime as watched on your list.

Anything above 100%/1.0 speed is too much. Are you in hurry somewhere? Are you getting paid for watched series? Seriously, I will never understand watching anything with higher speed.

PS go troll somewhere else.

Don't forget to feed your dog, make some food for dinner, play some video games and solve the secret of the beginning of the universe as you're watching as well, otherwise you may by accident know what is going on in the show.

There's no point of watching at 2x or higher. You're not going to know the story/plot very well. You might as well read the synopsis.

Im quite serious about this. This is no longer just a half hearted hobby where we only watch a few episodes a day. ITS A LEGIT MUST WATCH SITUATION WHERE I HAVE TO CATCH UP ON LOST TIME! 50 episodes a day or I kill myself.

Get yourself about 5 monitors and run your shows at 5x speed. That should be a good way to waste your time and "complete" your list.

No seriously - maybe you should get yourself a new "hobby" - if you gotta do such a "halfhearted" thing. If you just simply feel like "being the very best" on MAL or something - you seem to misunderstand that anime is a medium of entertainment/enjoyment not some kind of competition?

What exactly are you catching up to?
If you feel you have to "catch up", you've already lost.
3.5x speed is only good for burning DVDs, not watching them.

90 shows in 10 hours? You're not "watching" anything, you're just experiencing a fast-paced blur.
People have posted youtube videos of random stupid shit that last 10 hours, may as well watch one of those and just pretend it was anime. You'll get the same effect.
You're never too old to watch anime.
If I ever stop watching anime, check my pulse I'm likely dead.

I wake up with coffee & anime, I go to sleep with coffee & anime.

I seriously don't understand the trend towards watching anime at 2x or 3x speeds. By doing so, you completely neglect an important aspect of the show: pacing. The shows were originally made to be watched at the speed provided, and if you just ignore this idea, you're missing out on a pivotal part of analysis. So yeah, I think that watching at high speeds (especially at 3.5x speed, jeez I can't even imagine) would ruin the watching experience.

That being said, you've got the right to do that if you really want to. In addition, I have the right to disregard your opinions on the shows you watch in this manner.

Results for what? OwO

Are you going to tell your parents that you watched 90 anime in 10 hours in 13.5 speed? I think they wouldn't care one bit like us -w-

Here is an idea why don't you raise the speed to 27.0 then you can watch 180 in 10 hours or might aswell double it even more so you can complete 360 anime and keep doing it like that then you will be able to complete every anime entry in 1 year and we would be so jelly because you finished more anime than us :3

Well if he is dying then maybe it would make sense, only maybe lol? :3

Just tried watching a Girls und Panzer episode at 3.5x speed. It was the most ridiculous thing ever.

Stop making anime watching a competition and enjoy them. If you've lost interest in your hobby, no point in continuing it.

But you can just kill yourself if want to. If your life is that unimportant to you that is.

Watch it at 4x speed plus watch on two monitors at a time and skip all openings, endings, and recaps. This way you can watch 240 episodes in that 10 hours. I'd suggest watching Naruto this way.

From the start its crazy to watch an anime faster than the original timing, there is a reason why time is there and why anime time speed at that range. Watch in fast speed literally miss many stuffs the anime made for you. The motions, OSTs and many more.

***I'm doubting your watch lists and the ratings you made under the assumption of fast speed watching, you are not watching anime at all. You are like someone who buy the car license without passing any car test.

Its not like you have terminal illness or something, just watch it at a normal speed. Sometimes Member begged, for one anime to not stop, because they have fun with it.

In the end whats anime to you. fun/hobby? homework? for the sake of completing list?

Do whatever you want but it will certainly ruin the experience since the creators are obviously expecting viewers to watch the show at normal speed. You'll miss shorter scenes that can be important, and you'll probably have a hard time enjoying or remembering shows since your main goal is to finish them fast instead of consuming and being invested in the actual content.

This is so freaking funny. You don't want comments about the fact that you watch anime in fast forward, yet you make a thread about it.

Everyone has said so, but I will add to it. If you watch anime only to add more to your list, you might as well add them without even bothering to read any synopsis. Pffft, who cares, right?

If it's a chore for you to watch anime, then just don't. There's no point in going through them without enjoying them. People who watch anime in high speed don't watch anime at all. They just see some images and hear some high pitched sounds, that's all.

Have fun.

(personal opinion - Why would you do that ~ why.)

Watching anime for 10 hours isn't wrong, as long you're having fun.
Binge watching isn't wrong, as long you're having fun.

Using the same logic:
3.5x speed isn't wrong, as long you're having fun.

Have fun. (If you can.)

I feel it's stupid to discuss something like this.

EVERYBODY KNOWS IF YOU ARE GONNA BINGE WATCH AN ANIME IN 10 HOURS IT'S DEFINITELY GOTTA BE ONE PIECE, FAIRY TAIL, BOCU NO PICO, SCHOOL DAYS OR THAT OTHER SHOW THAT LEFT YOU SCARRED FOR LIFE. (Doraemon is higly recommended as well)
