Congrats on finishing it! I didn't know if you were going to enjoy it or not. Maybe you could share a little bit of your experience about your highlights from the show, like favorite characters, soundtracks, action sequences, or maybe comedic moments—anything really, if you want. One of my favorite moments from the show was the confrontation/reunion; it was intense and touching, and you probably know about my favorite characters. I love all the soundtracks, so it's hard to choose one :)
Also, the Fall 2023 season is about to begin; do you have a plan to watch some new season anime? I'm looking forward to Pluto the most. It looks promising and right up my alley. Not to mention, it's a collaboration between Naoki Urasawa and Osamu Tezuka.
Well, you can guess by my rating :) What I liked the most when I first watched were probably the characters and how the story flowed. They took their time building the characters, including the MC, who was reincarnated from another world. He still dealt with his own problems mentally; he wasn't a clean blank sheet just beacuse of his 'new life'.
The characters felt alive with their own flaws; humans are complex and not perfect after all. You can be a decent person if you try, even if you do bad things for no apparent reason or out of impulsivity (most gray characters I encountered in other mediums were doing morally gray things for some reason, or doing bad things for good reason/greater good, or revenge thingy, or something along those lines). On the other hand, Paul simply did something terrible (we didn't know the full context with Lilia in the past), but he was still trying to at least be a better father (sorry for derailing a little bit, but in my opinion, if it truly exists, the cancel culture in our society burns down the path of redemption), with a glimpse that he also had a rocky relationship with his own father/family. Speaking of relationships, that's another point for the characters: family relationships and dynamics. We knew Rudy was reincarnated, but it made sense that he was Paul and Zenith's son. That brings the point to Eris as well. She was raised by nobles and 'an abusive grandfather', whom she idolizes. So, it made sense how she had carried herself in the show so far. I don't have any issue with some tropes if they are executed well with some depth and reasoning (Bakemonogatari is another good anime example of this kind of thing).
I could talk more about in-depth characters, story, subtle hints, animation, soundtracks, immersive world, cultural differences, morality, or some controversial stuff. But I think that's it for now hehe.
And yeah, there were not many action scenes. Sometimes, even, it felt like a slice of life anime lol (the show doesn't have an action tag anyway, so it is to be expected). If I remember correctly, most of the action scenes were only training scenes but still great nonetheless, especially the swordfight between Ghislaine and Eris.
Oh, nice. It's actually a beautiful story, but I don't know if you're going to enjoy it or not (I hope you do) because there are some controversial things. You just need to watch it with an open mind :)
Aside from being the mage, Roxy is actually my favorite female character. Here, I transfer the gif to you hehe.
You're starting Ayakashi: Japanese Classic Horror. Good luck! What do you think so far? Maybe it's too early to ask haha. We can talk about it later if you want.
Are you also planning to watch Mononoke afterwards? It's one of my favorite anime, as you can see from my picture.
Hello, I found out about Tsumiki no le through your last updated list. It looked interesting and pretty short. So, I just recently watched it. It was a beautiful short story, wasn't it? I also see you give it a 9 :)
