Heard great things about the VN for years now.

Also, based Shikura Chiyomaru

inb4 obligatory "it's a VN adaptation so it's gonna suck", so tired of seeing these over the years. Are you prophets?

I hate how lame and vague the synopsis is written.

Scientist-man father who does science or something goes missing and a letter or something says there's alternate worlds. Uh, here, have a half naked girl on the front cover so you'll maybe be interested.

Should it maybe say "a NEW anime adaptation"? Because there was this before.

It seems more like a Steins;Gate approach of time lines.

For those who never heard about the original VN:
Yu-NO is the grandfather of story heavy VN. It has a very complicated multi timeline story where you could and must jump from one timeline to another many times to progress the story, and progressing without a walkthrough is gonna be a frustrating experience. To say this was an ambitious project is an understatement; It practically was the first VN that try to bet everything in its story, with a complexity that is almost unrivalled by any modern VN. Without Yu-NO maybe you will never see VN like Steins;Gate or Muv Luv now as every VN before this never progress very far from being a short porn game.

That said, if you play the game now (which is almost 20 y.o now) it might have aged a bit. The art is old (which I actually love), gameplay is very clunky, and some story tropes like the classic strong-slacker-perverted protagonist might be very outdated by now. However, it could still stand as one of the best VN of all time just because of the scale, complexity and raw quality of the VN even by current standard.

However this is the adaptation of All-Age remake which is not yet released yet, so don't hold your breath yet. It is possible that they might screw this up royally, buf I hope they won't.

Yeah this is pretty huge for sure. YU-NO is pretty much to VNs what Evangelion was to anime for its time. Has to be considered the most famous visual novel of the 1990s. The game itself hasn't aged very well honestly, but the upcoming remake of it next year should be pretty hype and seeing a modern anime of it could be really good as well

Oh please, It's a trainwreck only good if you have a giant incest fetish, and I don't even mean the brother-sister thing that's popular nowadays. The second part may be one of the worst thing I ever read even if you take that out.

It will be fun trying to see Yu-no shills trying to recommend it to the average anime viewer kek tho'. The story only flies because of the abyssal standards of the VN community.

Visual Novel Cast
Takuya Arima: Nobuyuki Hiyama (Genshiken)

Hiyama voiced him in the original. Since it's based on remake, Yuu Hayashi should be listed as Takuya here.

I heard a bit about this Visual Novel from few friends of mine so I'm curious. I'll see the staff and such and then we'll see.

I actually got tired of these as well when it comes to Light Novels and Visual Novels. I ask those if they are fortune tellers or anything. But that's how the community is.

Lol at 4 titles having less than 100 votes and being ranked higher than ones with 4000-1000.

Well they don't have any minimum vote count and don't use the bayesian rating system so yeah you should probably just ignore Chaos;Child x3 and Eve Burst Error

Also seeing BSD1 up there but not BSD2 is pretty strange..

Baldr Sky Drive 2 is in, just not actually top 15 which I screenshotted. The ranking list is very long and I can't screenshot the entire list.

In fact, Drive 2 is right below Muramasa at #16

Ok I started VN yesterday and all that I can say - IT'S AWESOME. Original art is far better than 'refreshed' one ( I prefer 2000+ character design in 99% cases). Soundtrack is brilliant, story superb (its 3am and I'm still reading it, which is pretty spectacular for me, I like going sleep rather early, before midnight in most cases). Translation is decent too. If they decide to make more than 20 episodes, hire a proper director, and the studio will be able to do a proper art (which is rather possible for Feel, I love their art and animation), then it will be probably anime of the decade. I hope that they won't cut off all the sexual things, it's a pretty important for this plot (no, it's not a joke or irony).
