The cooldown after this tense arc with Hibito and it is well deserved : )

Lol at Karen being a sadist with everyone's reactions especially Buddy. Interesting to see how Hibito has the wrinkles around his eyes as a scar of this event unless that's always been there

That was 20 min? Why does every episode seem to last for only 5 mins?!

I'm glad Damian is okay! But his hands looked really horrible ><

And the last scene was touching! :')

LOL. Sadist/Masochist joke? That's... quite Japanese to me. XD

Anyways, when Mutta heard that Hibito was okay, I just had to grin.

Next episode!

Only 3!? Jeez, I've been doing that for even longer. Gah, all this excessive dirt in my eyes... -__-

This is probably just me, but I think Hibito was trying to hold back tears, and those "scars" are more like blood vessels. Mutta reacted the same way when he got the news that he was officially an astronaut and also during this episode, when he finds out Hibito's safe. It'd make sense when he knows Mutta was one of the people who saved his life, I think. I could be wrong. :p

Those aren't scars. This is the way they show when someone is very touched and is about to cry. And both Hibito and Nanba have those when Hibito was thanking Nanba.

This was a nice episode in the aftermath of everything that had happened. Still, this was the first episode that had a completely different feel and tension to it, but it definitely needed a 'slow' episode like this in order to cool down..

Buddy is becoming competition to Jaxa's Director in being funniest character.

But this episode was more tense than previous ones... awesome job here.
And seeing that everything ends well is good (I wouldn't hate this series for killing Hibito but it would look very weird to me).

Maybe, I won't be surprised if it goes on to 100+. And I won't mind.

I feel like I've said this before somewhere, but it all the more makes me happier this show is actually really popular in Japan (somebody told me in China as well, but I'm not sure). The manga is still ongoing and sells well, the live-action film was well received, with Buzz Aldrin cameo-ing in the film as well as Coldplay singing the ending theme for that song, real-life astronauts recording dubs for the anime (one of them from Spaaaaacccee), and getting a new timeslot. In a time when every year it just seems that I'm gradually losing faith in this industry, Space Brothers just comes along on a whim. It's awesome.

And now that this particular arc is over, I'm now tempted to watch the live-action and see how they end that. I was hoping the show would take a break, I'd watch the movie, then it would resume again, but I'm satisfied either way.

Since I've had this at a 10 for quite some time, I can't raise the score--but I wish I could. I lost it when Mutta said: "Thank you very much." It's amazing how much emotion can be packed into a well-done anime.

It's great that this show is popular in Japan and China and hopefully it will inspire young people to aspire to be astronauts in the same way that Brian and Eddy were by the Apollo missions.

more like it's not going to end abruptly and it's no surprise since each week its rating it's among the top15 series.

right now we are about at half the printed chapters so there is still quite a lot of material to cover, not to mention that lately the pacing is slower so they could easily reach 100+ episodes if they want which is great because now it's all about Namba's training!

Whew ... glad everyone's safe! :3 Damian is actually one of my favourite astronauts too, so I'm glad that they both are recovering well. Mutta holding in all his emotions ... not crying in front of everyone when they told him Hibito was safe :') When they were talking at the end there too ... awwww :3 Especially when Hibito was talking about the three astronauts that saved him ... wow :O
Eddie and Brian as kids were really cute lol :P Love how they wrote their names on the figures after Buzz and Neil wore off :3
Looks like we're going back to focus on Mutta next week ... more training and promises? This should be interesting!

That's because it probably was the initial idea, also I may be wrong but the manga is not released yet in America, right ? So people only know the manga thanks to scanlation and don't know how much material there is to cover.

The combination of lack of informations made the idea of the show ending with 50 episodes quite likely, afterall a show this long is already rare nowdays, a 50+ even more so it was a safe consideration.

^I loved that too.

You know, I don't normally pick up on this sort of thing, but the voice acting in this anime is really good. Mutta's "thank you very much" in particular was delivered well.

It was a rather heartwarming episode.

Aww the conversation between Hibito and Mutta. "3 astronauts saved me"
Mutta's expression and his voice after been told that Hibito is okay, and after Hibito thanked him, came out very nice and fitting.

I like how they didn't go into detail of how they used Brian-03 to find Hibito after he moved from his expected location where he left Damian. The guy walked a good distance from that spot and the ravine, had the drone gone straight to where Damian was I doubt they would've spotted him. Other than that pretty entertaining episode and I'll stop bitching now lol. Have really been enjoying the series so far but that whole situation just bugs me xD

A good conclusion to a otherwise bad arc, for me atleast. In terms of art and direction, it was fantastic but imo episode 39-43 lacked quite a bit in story. I found the whole falling down thing quite ludicrous and not to mention Hibito somehow surviving after having 0 oxygen for what was atleast 10 seconds straight. It's alright though, glad it's over now. Nice conversation at the end there. Hope the anime continues with better writing like before.

this episode sums up nicely this hibito arc.

the conversation of hibito and mutta touched deeply my heart.

a lot of people saying hibito should have died to make things more interesting, i think that will ruin the whole build up of hibito surviving.
