Another great episode! Man the Pres sure had a tough life D: Having to support her brother after her father collapsed ... oh man >_< At least there was kind of a happy ending with him finding a job after nearly collapsing of hunger XD There's hope yet! :O Plus Mouse Road got shut down so hopefully she can go back to doing something else ...
Satou really has to work on the game before they show it off. I almost forgot they were doing that XD Seems like winter's coming next episode so the deadline's gonna be coming out. Hope they can strike out like Torotoro and succeed! :O

Despite the odd transition in animation I think this episode had among the most uplifting morals portrayed in the entire series so far. Step up Sato!

Toro toro's breakdown and acceptance that he is scared was pretty touching. And he tried to warn Satou to turn back while he can as well. My only problem is that toro toro just got cured and got a job before even Satou did -__- I guess all they need to do is starve Satou for 3 days haha

Wow the animation this time sucked hard, one of the worst things I've ever seen. That brother also made no sense, so after going out once he's suddenly healed and can even work by delivering food? W-T-F

The animation was really bad at times during this episode, but for certain scenes it seemed fitting.

Heartwarming ending.

(Glad the MMO/scam arc are over they were pretty bad aside from the ending)

Finally this arc is over at last. The last 5 episodes have been really poor in comparison to the first 14 which is quite a shame. Definitely going to read the novel after I finish this.

This episode put a smile on my face. Megumi's boobs though, those were huge, damn, I'll start looking for doujin now. Glad things work out with Yuuichi, he can finally find a job now and can feed himself, and maybe Megumi can start college again.

Holy shit I didn't see such a bad animation / picture quality since those early Gurren Lagann episodes (that and the cliched tropes made me quit watching it too) (°_O)

Feels like they outsourced this episode to some subpar chinese studio. The animation is a slideshow, characters don't have the same design and shading is totally awful.

On this shot Satou looks like Shinji from NGE, ffs

And people complained about Sidonia no Kishi's 3D CGI models lol...
At least 3D CGI models constantly have the same quality and animation (and shading) no matter what...

Ep 14-19 felt like a stretched filler series anyway, I wish we'd just seen more progress with Satou kun AND some more explanation about Misaki chan since we barely know stuff about herself or her motivations...

I predict this series will have one terribad ending, but Sidonia no Kishi manga kinda ironed me out on this so I'm prepared for the worst from now on (Tokyo Ghoul and SAO also helped to get used to horrible disappointements)

The ending was too chirpy. It's hard to buy that someone with condition like that could change so quickly but you have to also consider that how the fuck with years of sitting could he even do physical job like that.

I agree, the whole point of the show so far was to show how bad this hikkikomori life style is and how deep you can sink into it. And then they say "look its so easy, just go out and work for 3 days then youre fine"
Feels like undermining the shows message
But maybe we just were kept out of that other guys development so far. He mentioned when he talked to Satou in the online game that he had read over 200 self-improvement books, so he seems to had the wish for change a long time.

So i think its more that they didnt show his development well rather than that the character -development in itself was bad

I completely understand how the brother feels, luckily I'm not that far gone though.
Fact that Satou picked those words is already a sign of him coming out of his Hiki life.

Wait so the brother just leaves the house because he's hungry and doesnt come back? lol
And that with his severe illness and being hikikomori ...

This episode definitely had a darker feel to it and more faithfully reflected the reality of mental illness more than some of the past episodes. Megumi's life story is slightly improbable, but otherwise I was pleased with how everything played out in this episode. Im hoping to see more of this as Sato continues to grow as a person from encountering other people who are consistently worse off than he is.

The animation was an entirely separate issue, cutting corners and all that, but didn't really have any impact on the events themselves. If you were distracted or otherwise annoyed by the animation, hopefully you didn't let it detract from your enjoyment of the overall story

It's already been said here, but the animation totally blew for this episode. I'm glad Class Rep walked out on her brother. That is what he needed. She had enabled him for far too long and he needed a tough-love-style kick in the ass to make him get is shit together!

Heartbreaking episode. You can't help but your heart goes for class rep :(

The way Sato and others walked out like that was really frustrating I tell you. I know they couldn't do anything but still...

I'd fucking rated it low if the episode resulted in a tragedy with its continued portrayal of the dark theme.

it's interesting an interesting comparison that the brother finally got out of the house and did something because his sister wasn't there to feed him anymore and he was literally faced with starving to death (also, was there no food in the kitchen?? granola bars?? chips??) where in the last few episodes we've seen Misaki bringing food to Sato (she even mentions that he'd starve to death without her in this episode)

The idea here is that people become hikkikomori because others around them allow them to (in this instance Kobayashi, in Satou's it's his mother for giving him an allowance to live off of).

I think the issue is more complicated but I like this interpretation. And I preferred this episode to the previous ones. This arc wasn't without its "headscratchers" and "facepalms," though. The main characters acted stupidly beyond reason. The comedy was sometimes okay, but the drama didn't grab me beyond me going "that's pretty depressing." It also wasn't quite a high point in regarding the visuals. Oh, and the blowjob joke was a total miss for me, it was plain juvenile and out of character for the series.

I'd give the suicide arc a 5/10, the MMO arc a 6/10 and this one a 7/10. These numbers only represent my order of personal preference, I don't actually have a functional, universal rating system.

Oh boy these people can never stop complaining about fillers. Are they watching fillers for first time or what. These fillers are pretty awesome otherwise they always leave bad taste. If the series had been short, people would have said this story had so much potential, characters were so good all that crap.even american sitcoms have fillers but people don't complain as those fillers were very good so people just sit back and enjoy rather than complaining but here people just can't stop whining.

"What are those bastards doing to him?" They're literally just talking.

What the hell was that massive pile of orange and green that Megumi called her brother's dinner? Doesn't look like hikikomori instant food...at least she's trying to keep him healthy, right?

"I understand how it all works."
"Then why are you doing this?"
"Because I'm afraid."

Those lines are personally relatable, though not under the same circumstances.

Working on extras before the game's scenario is done? Is this Yandere Simulator?

Misaki and Sato saying "Holy shit!" at the same time when they found out about Mouseroad was pretty funny. And then that awkward position they ended up in...

How did Megumi's brother miss her getting arrested? Did he seriously think his sister was just neglecting him of food for three days?

"I dunno, it seems fine to me."
"That's because you're a fucking idiot!" Whoooooa, that came out of nowhere. I think that's the only F-bomb Yamazaki's dropped in the whole series so far.

Whoa, Megumi's nipples! We haven't even seen any nipples during the gal game scenes/when Sato was looking at porn, than those puppies come out of nowhere.

"if they get hungry, human beings will work"

i'd like to thank whoever come up with this line (maybe original quote from manga)

but this episode, this very quote, kicking some sense on my head, admit it it's not instant change like torotoro...

but at least in 2 years after watching this...

I think the problem with the ending seeming to be unrealistic is the time skip. It gives the impression Megumi's brother didn't struggle to work normally... I assume he had to have some serious social hiccups but was determined enough to ride them out.

Still no progress, still weird bullshit solutions instead of well-crafted conclusions that are memorable. I don't mind the drop in animation quality, but still, it's just icing on this very disappointing cake. I legitimately thought this series would get a 8/10 or even a 9/10 from me in the beginning, but at some point close to the mid point it just started to suck and never recovered - so far. If the quality stays like this I'll lower my rating to a 6/10, because at least parts of it were worth it. And if it picks up again I'll give it a 7/10, MAYBE a 8/10 depending on how things work out. But I am not optimistic. Will the gal game ever go anywhere? Will Misaki ever receive characterization? Will Sato's character development actually continue or will he forever stay a bumbling idiot? We'll see.

Animation was absolute garbage, worst I've seen in a long time!

...BUT, other than that, I enjoyed this episode a lot! Loved the message at the end, mainly because I believe that's how mental issues often work out - some people just need a push. Sure, it doesn't mean it'll always work out for everyone, but being afraid of hunger or death, and doing everything to prevent it is a rather believable solution imo.

That and this whole scene hit me right into the feels ._.

Maybe the ending with him humming happily was a bit too over the top, but I can forgive that much. Didn't feel nearly as forced, as the ending of suicide club arc.

This episode is by far the best since the end of the Kashiwa arc! I'm not saying that the episodes after that were bad, I was just confused on where the series was heading since there wasn't much moving for Satou or Misaki. I can't really say much has moved here either, but at least there was something in this episode (spoiler: Megumi's brother, who is a worse hikikomori than Satou, basically tells him not to go down his path). But the scene with Misaki and the ending were great!

The scene with Misaki was great, both heartwarming and hilarious. Misaki acts kind of like his girlfriend now, and I feel so happy for both of them, especially Misaki. It's so adorable, cute, and... heartwarming! Love her cooking and attitude there. The next part was hilarious, though that's as far as it went.

And the ending was heartwarming too. I'm happy that things are looking better for Megumi and her brother. Her brother now has a job and seems to be feeling more fulfilled, the pyramid scheme has collapsed (thank goodness Megumi isn't in prison or anything), and Megumi is even thinking of going to college. A great ending!

Side note: I didn't realise anything about the animation at all...

I guess part of the reason why the brother continued to be hikikomori was because of his sister. Now that nobody was feeding him he realised he has to do something for himself.

Despite the poor animation quality, this didn't deter the moral message conveyed in this episode.

we get some character development, but sadly primarily for characters that were introduced just for this arc.
didn't that girl already tell satou that she would hire him for the part time job or did i get that wrong? if so, i'm pretty sure he's at the point now where he could do that and still work on the game. hell megumi's bro crawled out of his hidey hole and got a job after only a day or two.

Holy shit, what the actual fuck is up with the art and animation quality in this ep? This show is not known for its visual quality, and I've seen mishaps here and there, but this ep is especially horrible.

The fear of the unknown, the fear of change, the fear of not becoming a hikikomori, and of course, the cries of desperation all alone in the darkness, these are some of the experience Sato knows and felt, Sato knew what's going through with him, but Sato is not some kind of hero to think that he could save someone's life when he bare;y can do anything to his own. All of this is summed up with the scene where Sato just walks straight ahead to leave Megumi's house.

The only difference between Sato and Megumi's brother is that Megumi's bro knew what had to be done, but unlike Sato, he brought himself and his sister down to this miserable life.

It's like the light at the end of the tunnel! Mouseroad is raided, Megumi lost her job, now free from their shackles, but with her absence, her brother scoured for food, which leads up to him having a job. What a truly wonderful ending, it moved my heart to see such a positive and beautiful ending for this ep.

I don't want any goddamn cheap fan service bullshit of Megumi in a bath!
