Heh, Kana got dive-bombed... XD

Cute episode, and that Wall looms as usual. Rather sinister if you ask me.

And what's with the town being "cone shaped"? o_O Makes you wonder what the hell happened on the outside.

Whoah, Kana is a girl? I was thinking they're all girls but she doesn't look it. I guess all Haibanes are female then.

I guess this episode is similar to the last one. I don't have anything else to add since it has the same vibes like before. I did notice that those "crows" has something to do with the story. However, I can't seem to figure it out.

I also noticed that each of them had their own past shown in their dreams. However, it looks like it will be impossible for them to recall it. Possibly, those angels must be a reincarnation of humankind.

Same here. I just keep putting it off, even though the characters are great. Plot is non-existant.

The one thing I remember in this episode was the brief mention of that legend Kana was talking about when she and Rakka were at the top of the town's clcok tower. She said they were the carriers of the items left behind of each Haibane's previous life prior to being born in the cocoon. I thought maybe they were a representation of their lost memories taken away.

It's blatantly obvious that the crows are significant to the plot, one was even in Rakka's dream. As for the episode, it was decent... still developing the characters, but I would like some more mystery... or something.

Maybe a crow brought a watch that Kana found?

Lovely episode. I’m truly intrigued by what the crows symbolize to the town and which role they play in plot.
I think, then procrastinate.
Therefore, I am.

The talks about the walls and how their wings don't work makes me think that someday their wings are going to grow and they'll be able to fly over the walls or something.

the crows are starting to become more and more apparent in the series, and obviously symbolise something, the legend that was mentioned at the top of the tower was very interesting indeed. Not too bothered about the pace and the lack of 'action' i knew coming into this, that it wouldn't be that sort of anime!

Yeah I found out I think in episode 2 when the subtitle said "she" and I was surprised then.

Cute episode, and I agree that the crows probably symbolize something. Again, not much happened except for world building, as we see how Kana explains the way of the town and the walls.

Kana insists that she finds the crows annoying, but in fact she just envies them for being able to fly where ever they please. She's shooing them away because she knows there is something more to their life than being confined in the walls.

I love seeing Rakka get closer to all the character's in the series by visiting their work place. It also helps you see the human and haibane interaction in more depth as well.

I'm having a hard time seeing why this anime is so highly rated. I've watched many a slowburn anime and enjoyed it, but this one is proving to be a challenge. While the slow unveiling of the mistery that is this world is interesting, it's done in such a slice of life way that I get bored easily.

I'm surprised so many people didn't know Kana was a girl. I knew when she first showed up. Her breasts aren't exactly hidden, you could tell by her figure that she was a girl early into the first episode.

Kuu was the more surprising one for me, I was trying to figure out Kuu's gender quite a bit.

I like the general OST of this show. The openings, endings, and soundtrack of the show are amazing. In this episode, we learned that the crows supposedly carry objects from the people's past lives. I theorize that they may also contain their memories and they could be symbolic of the people's urge for freedom because they can go in and out of the walls as they please. The one that Rakka keeps looking at could be the same crow and it could be the one that carries her past life memories/items.

I actually thought that the subtitles were wrong :D
She does look like a guy, her voice is lower and the way she acts.. I guess it all just made me think she's a boy. I was so surprised when I found out. Didn't believe it at first but got some reassurance as I watched more episodes.
And Kuu also seemed like a boy, but apparently isn't since they're all female? Or not?
But what about the little ones, they seemed like boys to me. So I wonder.

And I get the feeling that this anime is just building up right now. We are probably going to have something pretty interesting happening later on. At least it feels like it.

The soundtrack is absolutely gorgeous. That piano melody while Rakka and Kana were talking about the wall was stunning.

I'm surprised at how short these episodes feel considering these episodes have been a whole lot of nothing (aside from minor minute or two long hints at something deeper).

really relaxing episode ~
