A manga you were a fan of prior to it getting an anime that you were hype to see it finally get adapted.

My first was very recent, Plus Sized Elf. I fell in love with it after reading the first volume and waited like 3 or 4 years for it to finally come.

My waifu is the most wonderful waifu. Mai Valentine.

We're freaking out that we're running out of time, but to do what? Should i stop and think of that? Is there something i could do to slow it down? Live in a day for once, instead of watch it sprinting by

I was in the Go Toubun no Hanayome fandom for a year and a half or a year before the manga got an adaptation. This is if we talk specifically about favorite works. If we’re just talking about the titles that I read, then this happened more than once, although not as often as the opposite example.

I think it was either Call of the Night or Blue Lock.

Do we take it in the context of when the announcement for the adaptation came out, or when the anime started airing?

I think it was Astra Lost in Space in 2019. The anime was announced very shortly after I read it.

Not sure if I read before adaptation or around the time it was being adapted because it was a while back and i didn't have access to watch them or knew about their adaptation existence but the big heavy favorite is Death Note. The others would be Yugioh before duel monsters and Battle Vixens aka Ikkitousen. Read them in the bookstore in those days

There are very few manga that I've read before they got anime adaptations, I think it's just Chainsaw Man and Jigokuraku. Between those, I'd say Chainsaw Man is my favorite.

Bakuman - I love the manga and was happy it got an anime but I skip the anime intentionally because I already know the story and I didn't like watching anime that story I already know and very picky about watching adaptations of series I've already read.

Hiyokoi - the first manga I read to anime that I actually watched, but it was only an OVA.

Chainsaw Man. Often criticized, but I've seen quite a few underwhelming anime adaptations of some of my favorite manga and this isn't the case. I consider it a sidegrade.

I don't like to read manga so I've never experienced this. I never really felt the drive to continue the anime with the manga. Not to say I didn't love the show. It's always just been I'll wait for the next season or I guess that show is done. If it was a really old show with no sign of ever finishing I'd just read the wiki.

I do get very hyped when franchises I love get adaptations (not specifically into an anime but other forms of media too). Mostly from video games, movies, cartoons/shows, stories, and anime.

It's very recent but it's Megami no Cafe Terrace. I thought it would be your generic harem with no plot, but it's actually very good.

The earliest one I could remember for sure is Magi. I specifically remember disliking some changes made from the manga near the end of the first season.

I usually have read the manga before it gets an anime, but very recently it's been the other way around since I haven't been picking up many new manga series to read.

The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady (Winter 2023)
I picked up the lightnovel in 2022 when it came out in English and immediately loved it. The manga is nice too, but I'm just not as big of a manga person. 4 months later they announced the anime. Great adaptation.
(There have been a few other adaptations before 2023, but wouldn't count them as my favorite manga/lightnovels)

So far it's a bit more often that I start reading the source material after I watched an anime than in reverse, but I only really started reading lightnovels/manga in 2021. Maybe it will be different in a few years.

I was a JoJo fan since 2003, started reading it after watching the OVAs.

So if we don't count the OVAs, I was a fan 10 years before the 2012 anime.

Solo Leveling and Platinum end are the only manga I read before the anime adaptation came out.

Solo Leveling I still haven't watched, I want to but I don't care too much about it

I don't even know why Platinum End has anime adaptation it's a shit manga with outrageously good drawings

I've only gotten into the manga side of things just this year, so whatever manga-with-no-anime I've started reading, I haven't heard any announcements.

I just got started on this one, and I just found out a future anime is confirmed:

Here's what I'd love to see in anime form:

Blue Lock.
Heyy it was Blue Lock for me too! I remember being one of the very few people on this site to read it but now look at how popular it has become lol. When I caught up with Blue Lock, only about 150 chapters were out, as you can see in my list. Yeeaaa I am yet to catch up with it lol and it has been pretty much 2 years.

@Cammell oh yeah it was solo leveling for me too! And I was planning to read Platinum End before the anime came out but it was somehow delayed and delayed and at last I read the manga way after the anime came out. And yeah I totally agree with your opinion about Platinum End.
