| I feel like they're completely unnecessary and they are not even nice to look at, I just don't get it, what's hot about male characters? I don't know if this is something only Western people find attractive but I always bleach my eyes when I see a male character, the same happens with battle shounen or stupid action like the typical scene where the MC fights an enemy and has inner monologue for 10 minutes straight, I can withstand a bunch of them but when this cheap and dirty way of wasting my time is constant I stop watching. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy male characters in harem shows, because they are meant to interact with the girls and not do stupid shit like beating some other dude or getting beaten by him, I just hate the completely obnoxious fighting scenes, training arcs and over-focus on male characters in general, they really ruin eye candy for me. What do you guys think? |
| I like all types of characters! I think it really just depends on how you like to engage with anime. Like you seem to enjoy the harems and stuff, so maybe battle shounen is not the genre for you. |

| Well IMO. There is nothing more annoying than males in anime Lol Running around being loud violent and often abusive towards the cute girls. I have enough of them to last me a lifetime,,,,No ten lifetimes But on some rare occasions, males are ok. Like Haruka's father in Sakura Trick. I never see his stupid face and he only has one line "NO males around Haruka! I forbid it!" Probably not. It's weird because you could argue that a huge portion of female characters have no redeeming qualities also but it's whatever. People have different tastes, you know. :D

Most of their design are the same and they bore me out. The girls got better look, though they're still annoy me for having such high pitched voices and scream everytime and everywhere they can. |
