Adapted from a shoujo manga, the main character is a male high school student who is forced to take on the responsibility of looking after his young cousin. The art is more generic versus Usagi Drop's (in your favorites) and the setting is more standard high school, but if you go into it without expecting anything too deep, I think it'll be an enjoyable watch. For something less light-hearted and more something you'll remember for its uniqueness, I'd also recommend Michiko to Hatchin. Here, you'll get more "real" character interactions (between a variety of very individualistic characters), and the somewhat sisterly/motherly relationship that grows between Michiko and Hatchin (with Manglobe's creative animation and sound style).
