Alright so tell more about your handwritting and how does it affect whether or not people can read the hell out of your hanwritten texts? My handwritting is nothing so impressive but it's decent and I like the fact everyone seems to read it well with no issues different from some people whose handwritting is so stylized and cute but lacks readability. |

Usually during tests, or anything where I’m being timed, my handwriting looks like a bunch of scribbles but it’s definitely still readable... I think .__. I also can’t hold the pencil correctly.-. but for my notes, although my writing is still quite messy, I like to format my text and everything in a way to please my eyes (probably looks like poop to others still) but that’s only if I feel motivated to keep it that way. Otherwise, it would look neat in the beginning of the year and disastrous by the end. |

Mine's slowly gotten worse as I've gotten older. Little primary school me was pretty good at neat looking cursive handwriting, but the faster I've gotten and the more time I've spent on the internet, the less neat it looks. Now, when I'm writing, I go for speed over neatness. I think it's probably a byproduct of taking exams. The longer you spend answering one question, the less time you've got to answer the next question. My teachers have told me that no one cares how neat your handwriting looks, just that it's readable and you've gotten whatever it was you were doing right. |

Friends? Never heard of that Anime... Also, my hand-writing has become so bad it was voted in the top three of the worst hand-writings in my high school and since then, it has become even worse. Rowan_F said: Exactly my problems! Ironically, I have switched from cursive to print to make it clearer looking and now my print looks more horrible than my cursive. Also, the change from fountain to ballpoint pen has also added to the negative development.Mine's slowly gotten worse as I've gotten older. Little primary school me was pretty good at neat looking cursive handwriting, but the faster I've gotten and the more time I've spent on the internet, the less neat it looks. Now, when I'm writing, I go for speed over neatness. I completely agree with having to take exams under time pressure being one of the major reasons for the decrease in handwriting quality. Also, if you have to write much by hand for homework/school work in general, you will also get eventually tired of it and want to get it done as fast as possible. And it's as Flevalt wrote in another thread: [url=https://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1790984#msg57936937]"The faster one wins the cake. Quick thinking stays more on the surface-level of a topic and focuses on short-term results, so it's not good for finding lasting, optimal or better solutions to problems or for obtaining truthful answers to questions." |

If I make an active effort it looks good but usually it looks as if a doctor wrote it. But that way I write really fast which works for me since I'm the only one that reads my notes. |

My day to day writing is decent, I'd say, but only because my mother put me through calligraphy classes while I was still a kid. Before that, it was like as if a drunkard on the verge of blacking out found a pen while lying on his own piss and started to link the constellations on paper. |

I very rarely write anything by hand nowadays, and when I do it's almost always in print, not cursive, I'd have to say my handwriting is average at best. here is a sample of my writing (with a mouse pad -.-): http://sketchtoy.com/68999583 |

i feel like as i've gotten older i've started caring less and less about my handwriting. so at this point i only write things for myself to read, which means that my handwriting usually looks like a mix of cursive and printed letters slanted weirdly depending on how focused i am. but if i'm writing a formal letter or filling out an application form i do tend to try a bit harder - but in general it just looks small and i think all of my friends write way better .-. |

Ever since I was a child, all of the people around me critised my handwriting, but it looked beautiful in my eyes. One time I snapped and I started to just don't care about it so I wrote extreemly ugly. I still have ptsd about it and I don't like to show to others my handwriting. Nowadays I don't write anymore, not in school or higher ed. |

I haven't really had any handwritten assignments since like Middle School (I'm currently in College) so maybe it's different now, but if I recall compared to most other men my handwriting was actually quite beautiful, but compared to most women it was still chicken scratch. Men's motor skills taking longer to develop than women's and just in general women have better handwriting, apparently given any handwriting 70% of people can guess the gender correctly. I don't know why but for some reason having a penis somehow impedes your ability to write neatly and having vagina somehow magically steadies your hand. |

What's the point?! the majority of people nowadays don't appreciate hand-writing anyway, it's rather much "cooler" for them to see, who's typing faster on the keyboard, or more precisely on mobile phones while their faces glued to the screen. |

The "s" in the latter position reminds me of the "ß" (eszett). Almost didn't recognize the "f" because of it being mostly in the lower position. Note: I normally only write in print letters (except for small "g"), but this makes for good practice! :D |

The difficulty level is higher for deciphering yours but i'll give this part a shot anyway! >< Bei jedem klugen wort von lokrates rief Xanthirre uyninoh qiatsoh! Stanleys expeditioning quer durol atrika wirrd von jedermanm gemnolent. As you can probably tell, i don't know any German XD I can read the part that's in English okay though. Even if it's a bit difficult to read, if something is written in your own language it makes things a lot easier! I had no idea cursive numbers were even a thing. I've never seen joined up numbers in my life. Your capital "T" looks extremely similar to a capital "J". I was confused for a little while there! The answer to the question is the poem is from the Higurashi VN arc Watanagashi! Honestly cursive is useful for writing quickly, but it has a lot of downsides to it. With print writing chances are everyone can understand it, but with cursive you have a 50/50 chance. Quite a few people in my class couldn't read my hand writing. Then again, i couldn't read a lot of theirs either! |

fancyjasper said: Yay you got it right! :D I believe the top paragraph is German isn't it?! The difficulty level is higher for deciphering yours but i'll give this part a shot anyway! >< Thanks :D Yep, but that's giving me more accurate feedback about where exactly my hand-writing is lacking. The first line looks surprisingly well. Noticed that my "p"'s don't come off as clearly as I thought they would be, save for the English example: Bei jedem klugen Wort von Sokrates rief Xanthippe zynisch: Quatsch! Stanleys Expeditionszug quer durch Afrika wird von jedermann bewundert. It's been kinda amusing how you've recognized "Expeditionszug" (expedition train) as "Expeditioning", but couldn't recognize "Sokrates" and "Afrika" xD As you can probably tell, i don't know any German XD I can read the part that's in English okay though. Even if it's a bit difficult to read, if something is written in your own language it makes things a lot easier! I had no idea cursive numbers were even a thing. I've never seen joined up numbers in my life. That can change xP. Yes, it's not only easier to interpret hand-writing when it's in your own language or at least a language you can read, but it also makes it easier to write. I haven't been used to writing by hand in English since I've typed way more in it. Which is why actually writing in German comes more natural to me. You might have noticed, but I even had to correct myself from accidentally capitalizing the nouns in English in mid-sentence. I'm not sure about the numbers joining, either, but they look at least more curly: http://freenumberstencils.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/number-stencils-3474.png Not sure about the "7", because the middle stroke is missing: https://www.pelikan.com/pulse/__v228/vfs-public/img/lehrer-info/monatsaktion/2002-11/schoenschriftUebung2.gif Your capital "T" looks extremely similar to a capital "J". I was confused for a little while there! You think so? They look totally different to me. The capital "J" has the curve and the lower position. I personally thought that my "u"s (no pun intended) and my "V"s (both upper and lower case) can easily get confused. Also, my "r"s (small "R") seem to vanish before small "s" or they end up looking like a small "n". And my "C" and my "S" (both capitalized) look kinda similar from my own point of view. The answer to the question is the poem is from the Higurashi VN arc Watanagashi! Thanks for telling me the arc in which it came from!Honestly cursive is useful for writing quickly, but it has a lot of downsides to it. With print writing chances are everyone can understand it, but with cursive you have a 50/50 chance. Quite a few people in my class couldn't read my hand writing. Then again, i couldn't read a lot of theirs either! That's pretty much why I've switched from cursive to print, but apparently, my cursive looks now much better than my print. lol, then you better not become a teacher or anyone else who needs to read hand-written stuff! :p |
