| Thank God there was that recap episode, or I wouldn't have understood anything! The art and animation didn't change as much as I thought it would despite the time gap and the change of studios. Though the biggest change is probably Genos. They finally explained why Saitama never got credit for his work. Haha. |
| It's not that bad, i expect worse than this i feel like people are overreacting, enjoyable episode Saitama is back, eventough the pacing is quite weird it's still passable, looking forward to eps.2. |
| I actually enjoyed this episode, the good old OPM charm is still there. But yeah the action scenes were.... It really just sucks that an anime this good is gonna get dragged down by badly made fight scenes. OPM doesn't deserve this. |

| Nowhere near as bad as expected. Focus this ep was more on the characters and it did its job just fine. Looking forward to next episode, and it's a shame this show is popular so it'll be easy to hate on it. |

| It's not the disaster I was expecting, but this was an S-Tier show that is now squarely B-Tier. Pretty disappointing. It's definitely not unwatchable in the slightest, it just sucks that this was the direction that was decided for the series. |
| Thank god that wasn't as bad as the PV implied it was. The weird gloss on Genos and that other robot were the only plainly bad things in the episode. That, and the character designs also feel weird but I think I'll get used to them soon. I hope JC can at least keep this quality for the rest of the season without having any significant drops. |

| So wait, this is what everyone has been screaming about for weeks now? Probably the best 1st episode of the Spring season, with OPM's usual character and personality, and perfectly fine animation. Uhh, you can criticize the unusual amount of close-up shots, if you want, but that could just as well be a strange directorial flair. This is the same old One Punch Man. The majority of people still think Naruto vs Pain is a badly animated fight, so honestly, I don't even know if people understand what animation is. |

| s1 leave so much burden for s2, battle scenes & animation quality is the first thing that comes to mind if we're talking about OPM imo, s1 set a high standard for people expectation so the "okay" or "fine" animation seems terrible and much worse |
| Well, it at least feels like JC Staff did their utmost best to hide the perfectly average animation by using a lot of zoom-ins, camera movement, explosions of dust, fire and smoke, fast editing, etc. They might be able to fool some people with it, I guess. |

| We all knew the production quality was never going to match Madhouse's season 1. While it seemed like effort was put into the action this episode, it didn't really draw my attention. The comedic aspects were captured pretty well though. |
| yeah if you compare it with the first season the animation is noticably a big downgrade. but its watchable. i like one punch man overall so i will continue to watch |

| My main issues with the first episodes are the color palettes for the characters and the linework that seems too thin and sometimes not even closed. One can argue its artistic choice... but I dont like it. Story wise, banger |
| Nothing like the 1st season, the directing is just too one dimensional. 5 mins into S1E1 and you can already tell which episode has more personality. |

| In my opinion the big problem isn't the animation itself. I mean, even with bad animation it's possible to make great anime. But... The rhythm of the episode is way too fast and there's a big lack of impact. It seems that they want to adapt the manga to the recent chapters, and episode 1 adapted the whole 8th volume, but it's such a bad idea. The studio needs to relax. The story is still cool, wait and see, I hope the best for the show |

| I'd say it's watchable. It isn't bad, but isn't good either. They sort of fucked up King and Fubuki, but Genos's action scenes look pretty dope. I am still unhappy by the fact that Fubuki doesn't look as hot as she should be. =( |

| I actually enjoyed this first episode. I don’t think it was nearly bad as people thought it would have been. The art may not be as good as it was in season one, but I don’t think it’s bad by any means. It definitely still feels like OPM. We still have crazy monsters, weird characters(King) and all the goofiness I missed. I’m excited for the rest! |
| @BravoBlast333 You mean the same manga S2 has been following almost perfectly so far? Guess weaker visuals and editing are enough to turn some people off... correction, the visuals are atrocious, not "weaker" |
