Oh my, even this anime got into the Christmas spirit. Santa hat on the skeletal dude!

Unusual for sure but fun to see. For a series' finale, it had a pretty colorful feel.

Guess Christmas is also hard for bookstores as well. Between the rush to pack books and the need to wrap stuff as well it sure looks like hell. The late shift team sure is really something. The insight into how they work and what takes place after the store closes was insightful. Nice the series ended with the store closing for christmas lol. Wonder will there be a sequel because this is one anime that i don't mind seeing continue.

Appropriate to use the closing shift as their setting for the final episode. As a bibliophile and retail worker (and fan of creative comedy), this series was the apex of the season for me.

Good show and we seriously need more of this kind. I'm just a bit disappointed that no episodes did reach the gloriousness of the first ones.

As a former book seller during my undergrad days, this anime was probably more funny and on point for me with each episode. I'd love to see another season!

i agree, the first couple of episodes were hilarious, but the rest weren't bad as well. maybe we just got used to the tone and comedy after the first ones

This was a fun show to watch! It ends with a Christmas and New Years!

All the characters were fun and probably the best part of the show... right now I’m giving it a 5/10 but that could change

Tomorrow, too, I'll do my best!

  • Loved the fitting, sweet, and optimistic ending! Night shift closing the store is a perfect parallel to the series ending.

  • We are the two customers who walked in after the store closed. They walked in hoping for enjoyment, yet they forgot it's closing time, then walked away in tears. Perhaps it mirrors viewers' own sadness that this series has come to an end as well. At least, it's true for me. 💔

  • Overall, I'm glad I took the chance to watch this series despite being dissuaded by the art at first. It was enlightening and entertaining. I just really want to go to a bookstore and get books now.

Last episode, and diving into the Xmas season. Not to mention that the season brings headaches too.

To think that even the night shift has capable people, I'm impressed. Even when counting money at the end of a business day has to be 100% accurate.

Good night, Honda-san, counting on you for another new day at the bookstore again!

What a wholesome short anime. Wished this one had a 2nd season!

Man, that was an insane ending, and the spirit of Chrismas couldn't be more on point.
It would be so empty without watching this show weekly, it certainly offered a lot more than I anticipated at first.
I wish a DUB version is released soon just so that I can have another take on it, that it even better by announcing a sequel. It doesn't, of course, have to be bookstore centered, have it be any other business medium just please have the same cast in it. Especially the legendary Honda-san, but for now, I'll settle with the Engrish overdose they gave us.

Im going to miss this show. I'd would watch this right before walking to my bus and it brightened my day so much. I loved this episode I especially laughed when the hollywood couple walked in and Honda-san was scrambling trying to get them out of the store 😂

as a whole that was a great ride and a lot of truth and revelations of a life being a staff employee of a retail book store!
This episode shows xmas themed events, differences between early shift and late shift, and of course EOD problems with cash POS registers with over/short issues! (that's a real head ache because if you're short you gonna have to shoulder it! if over then your damn lucky...lolz!
5/5.
7/10.

I actually like wearing Santa hats/Christmas headbands for work XD When I worked at a milk tea shop, I had to wear those during the whole December, while bartending or at the cash register. The customers really liked it!

And man, the closing shift and money counting. Oh god, I always dreaded counting the money and coming up short...even if it was just by a few cents. Never got used to it.

Overall, it was a really fun series. Like others said, we learned quite a lot about how Japanese bookstores work (probably similar to the U.S.), and it was easy to connect with if you've ever worked in retail/stores. Honda-san is a great main character, I'm going to miss Saitou Souma and his English, lol. He's the reason I even tried the first episode.

Although some eps. weren't as captivating as others, I must say that this was a rather interesting series. I enjoyed it very much, being honest.

And regarding the episode, it was a good one. The last part with the money counting scene was very funny although I wouldn't wish such thing to happen to anyone, that's hell for sure xD

All in all, it was a nice series with some very good episodes and the cast, especially Honda were great. 7/10

I learned too much about Japanese bookstores but the comedy was boring.

4/10 for the anime.

Discrepancy is a pain in the ass, but I'm glad they overcame it at the end. The first half about the holidays in the bookshop was hilarious especially when it came to new years.

This was a good show with lots of information about the running of the bookstore, but mostly it was like a a manga/comic store rather than a real book store. I've learned a lot and I must say it made me never want to work in a bookstore ever.

8/10.

Christmas, New Years, and closing time at the shop to end the series. Fitting that the last segment was a closing, both for the store and series. This was a pretty fun, easy and interesting little watch. Enjoyed the insight it provided into working at a bookstore. One thing's for certain: those damn western foreigners sure can be wacky! XD 7/10

I have so little on my list of wants for Christmas but seeing that you can buy a complete set of a manga series in a bundle, I absolutely need to find a translated version of that here!

This was an insightful anime about all things bookstore-related and it was funny and relatable in a lot of parts. Good series~

And finally,Jojo reference

Overall a good show. it gave me more insight into how bookstores work in Japan.i also had a good laugh watching this. The first episode is still the best for me because the Engrish.

The OSTs are great. There's one ost that sounds like claire de lune at first few seconds. I wanna know that. And of course the ED song too. Sounds like a song that Gen hoshino would make

Going to miss this little series. So novel (pun intended if you want lol), lighthearted and has plenty of funny moments, even if some episodes weren't as funny as others. Honda-san was nice to spend time with. I enjoyed hearing his perspectives and watching his interactions with his stylized coworkers and customers especially those from around the world.

I want more honestly but I think Honda-san did a great job covering the workings and various challenges about what it's like to be a bookstore employee with these 12 episodes.

Well done Honda-san :)
