| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- This show really seems to like swimsuits lul Once again, it's a pretty relaxing episode although this one teaches more about swimming. However, the final few minutes of the show also showed how dangerous the deep ocean can be. I think in general, the show still mixes in a good amount of drama and world building. Proud of Makoto for taking the courage to make that save. |

| So an episode about Makoto and her phobia which she managed to overcome. Also the truth about Rika came out tho only Makoto knows it and she was a bit shamed about the CPR she gave. Speaking about Rika she knows how to handle the sexist which was nice the see and she or better said he is a real player with that behaviour of his. |
| Makoto's weakness? Pretty much anything that is water-based. So her fate as a space fisher hangs in the balance. Though her family aspirations are in the way because of the gender segregation (this anime REALLY wants us to see things this way, and it will be recurring). Guess it's trying to stash the status quo by teaching and allowing women to do things the men can do as well. And we have Rika to thank for debunking the sexism. Namiho and Haru still remains as the serious-taker and face-value joker, and their character traits show throughout. Pretty much the episode where Makoto gets her full-on character development. Glad that she has overcame her fear, and earned her rights to be a space fisher. And...Rika's secret to Makoto...I guess we know what happened there. Next episode is full-on Maiko? Anticipating good things from a decent series so far. |

| Best episode of this show so far. It still feels very absurd but atleast there was some solid character development and focus in this episode for Makoto. |
| Yeah, every episode has had parts I liked but this was the first to offer a lot more good than bad. Looking forward to next week's mauve "Scottish" feature (Maiko) and eventual green (Makiko). Well... Crunchyroll subbing Maiko's accent as Scottish makes about as much sense as Billy Boyd's Glaswegian as Pippin in Lord of the Rings (where the characters weren't actually speaking English according to Tolkien), that is to say, I like it. It makes a welcome change from the usual Applejack American southern accent to which translators tend to default when faced with "unusual" regional dialects. I would be impressed with myself if I could remember which was Makiko / Makoto / Maiko without looking at the character list. Well, I guess Makoto has the more "masculine" sounding name, not that western instinct means anything in a land where Tomoya is a boy's name and Tomoyo is a girl's name. |

| I admire Haru's perseverance - working hard to de-bitchify Namino and make this a watchable show. Also, Makoto is awesome and cute; so far, I put her in second place for best girl, after Ruby. |

| Well I've never seen an anime do an evacuation drill before... Shooting someone with NERF guns isn't going to make them better... "Space fishing is for men. You ladies go can some food or something." That's racist. *DING!* "A girl can't be a swordsmith." That's also racist...but I will be honest and say that I don't recall seeing any female blacksmiths around... Aww this is cute. Makoto learning how to swim. Woohoo! Namino and Haru stretching each other out! RIKA-SAN!? I AM NOT EVEN GOING TO ASK. OK PEOPLE! NOTHING TO SEE HERE! MOVE ALONG! Well Makoto with Deity Ex Machina gets over her fear of water and continues her training. Looks like Maiko will be the featured character next episode. |

| Twist of the episode! Rika-san is a friggin' OTOKO! lolz! nice Makoto conquered her fear/phobia of water/getting drowned and she also summoned her guardian! 4/5. |
