| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- It was great to see some new characters. In particular, Mizuno-san (水野). She is voiced by Ayano Terasaki (寺﨑 彩乃) who is a newbie voice actress apart from "Strange+" (2014). Also, most of the action took place outdoors. I was happy to see Lieutenant Lutgalnikov's (ルトガルニコフ中尉) T-34 tank again. At 2:06, we saw Sergeant Shachirof's (シャチーロフ軍曹) tank for the first time. There is a clear though distant view of it at 2:23. Then there is a brief frontal close-up at 2:29. I could not identify it. However, in the manga . . . So that's a rocket-propelled round? Lucky that it wasn't face-piercing, let alone armor-piercing. |

| So this time they came with a Tiger tank. And i almost didn't recognise it at first but after a second look i could tell right away. Seems the new guy has it pretty harsh with his treatment, even from the kind neighbour. |

However, one thing that I learned from the MAL discussions while we were all watching "Girls und Panzer" in late 2012 was that it was routine and normal in the German army in the 1940s for the tank commander to kick the driver. This was a way to signal the driver to turn left or right, go, stop or reverse. It's mentioned several times here: http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=112312&page=16 One thing that I love about this series is the detailed historical accuracy. |
