| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- My opinion on Kim completely changed. When I first saw him I disliked him for having such a cold boxing style, ruthless and harsh. But his backstory turned out to be dramatic and traumatic. Joe knows this is gonna be a painfully hard match for him. Let aside Joe's disadvantage of his physic, but his moral isn't at its best too. |
| I was glad Joe finally ate something... even if he didn't even finish that meal. I was expecting Kim to be something like that, but didn't expect the story to go into so much detail with him. Great to have this episode just before the fight. |

| Poor Kim, he killed his own father who was trying to get that food to him and his mother. It was weird that he went and told Joe all that, and why are they talking that easy, he is from Korea and Joe from Japan, they don't speak the same language. |

| Felt really good to see how happy Joe was when Danpei told him that he can finally eat something, it was a long time since this side of him was shown. And I expected Kim to have a tragic past, but that was cruel. His character became much more interesting and he's also one hell of a beast, even Joe lost his confidence. |

| Holy crap, that was one dark and cruel background. I knew he had a dark background related to the war, but didn't expect it to be this bad. And this was probably the first time Joe is not confident he will win a match. I can't really tell how the match will turn out, I can't even tell if it will be a close match or if Joe will get his ass kicked this time. |

| Kim is a special opponent. he's not like any other boxer we've seen in the series until this point. i liked him since the beginning, but now i think he may become one of my favorite characters in the series. This is the first time Joe has ever feared an opponent and doubted himself. it's the first time he realized that boxing is nothing more than a "game". no matter how violent and wild it is, it's nothing compared to real, raw battles. this is the first time we've ever seen a boxer who's more than just a "boxer". |

| This episode is brilliant, one of the best episodes I have ever seen in any anime. I couldn't help but think that Kim was trying to manipulate Joe into not eating that food though, in Joe's state every bite counts, so I hope this isn't detrimental to his fight. |

| Damn it was nice seeing Joe's eyes glow up after Tanpei offered him to eat some food ... But damn what a tragic history Kim has, no wonder Danpei couldn't see anything behind Kim's eyes, the man is barely alive. |
