The plot didn't move very far forward in this one. It was mainly all the girls Akko had befriended coming to pull her out of her funk. As well as two detail adding flashbacks. One about Shiny Chariot and Croix's past which was pretty sad and effective. And one about Diana liking Chariot when she was younger. That REALLY tugged at the old heart strings. Akko and Diana finally being full fledged friends is so precious. Not a bad way to spend your third to last episode. Utilizing all of the main cast and setting up some exposition for the finale. But it mainly just made me more excited to see how they bring this series on home. The last few episodes have had some real emotional weight behind them. I hope they can keep the ball rolling into the finale.

When you realize Chariot is actually the best character. But seriously, her back story is incredibly sweet. It's incredibly sad to see people became bored with her shows. It's such a cruel world.

Diana continues to improve herself in my view. I used to really dislike her, but now she's become much more likable.

Young Chariot really was naive & hit reality hard. People just want spectacle & got bored.
Croix much smarter, too bad she's been morally messed up & full of jealousy early on, but still not full evil, just insanely fixated on getting the 7 words. So she caused both amnesia & dream fuel spirit, used her friend for experiments & badmouthed Chariot's simple goal.
The Diana & Akko dev is amazing.

I say that it's both Chariot and Croix fault Akko and all those that were in the Show's lost their Power, not just Croix. Chariot agreed to use experimental Magic without thinking the Consequences and what it would do. But Chariot at least tries to redeem herself after her actions.

But Croix is Selfish, Jealous Bitter Witch..And Looks like Ursula is going to finally going to serious mode to stop her....

Damn Diana was so cool in this episode...and proved that when you get her friendship...X) She will back you up. Best character building episode both her and Akko.

So those things that continue to amaze Diana about Akko, does that include what happened in episode 7. We never got to see Diana's reaction to Akko saving those endanger fish, and I assume she knew what happened, it was in the paper.

-aw what? did chariot get jebaited by croix into stealing everyone's magic, that's pretty lame
-what i thought was happening was that chariot stole the audience's magic of their own accord and after spending time with akko grew to regret it. this is so disappointing.
-dam croix is just goin in
-man i thought chariot destroyed the moon and replaced it with an illusion
-damn straight diana
-z e t s u b o u
-at least that diana and akko conversation was pretty nice, for once
-also akko's super broken
-looks like diana was the true mc of this show
-look at that goddamn smug face on the cafe owner
-all according to keikaku

After what went down at the end of the last episode, I thought the following developments would be similarly exciting but instead we got "Croix was the bad guy the whole time". Too bad pretty much everything related to Chariot's backstory ended up being a complete disappointment. At least the conversation between Diana and Akko at the end tried its best to make up for the extremely lackluster first half of the episode.

Hunting for Akko ep. Was pretty nice if only to bring back Lotte and Sucy since they been largely irrelevant after Croix came into the picture. The show is about friendship amongst a lot of other stuff so I'm glad they bringing those relationships back.

I don't think the episode dumbed down Chariot. It would be completely out of character, as for Chariot and Ursula, not to be the naive girl she was. Also, it would hardly be well-developed in only 3 episodes. They had a char development line and they sticked to it, instead of trying to turn it 180º in the last second.

Yeah, while I can totally understand why some people are disappointed, I'm okay with this direction. We've been basically beaten over the head with the idea that Chariot and Akko are very similar, so maybe it really would have been too sudden; a truly gray Chariot probably would have needed more preparation and hints way before these past two episodes. I don't think Chariot's completely blameless this way either, as she still never asked how or why that spell was so powerful, she just blindly took Croix's word for it - her "quixotic naiveté" is her greatest flaw.

In conclusion, while the story is not even close to featuring "gray and grey morality", I think what we're seeing is still not on the black and white end, either. Croix is still just a utilitarian, she could probably be much blacker - and Chariot is, while an extremely light shade of grey, still far from perfect: she was naive, and when things got tough, she ran away to hide.

I couldn't agree more.

So Chariot was unaware of Croix's magic's side effects when she used it. That makes sense, of course Chariot was regretful, but she didn't steal everyone's magic on purpose. She was irresponsible, but at least she wasn't evil.

(Hitting the Moon like that was so over the top. I don't know why Trigger likes to destroy moons so much. lol)

Diana's conversation with Ursula was tense, but the former was right about everything. I liked how Diana was disappointed at Ursula/Chariot for her present actions (not looking for Akko) instead of her past ones (stealing her magic). Diana is pragmatic and doesn't hold a grudge against Chariot.

Poor Lotte was sad because Akko disappeared. Sucy comforting her was cute. Tha's the kind of scene where you notice that Lotte and Sucy really like Akko.

I really liked Diana's conversation with Akko. Diana said exactly what was needed to say at the right time and was completely sincere and honest to Akko. I'm glad Akko was reassured by Diana's words.

Don't believe in yourself, Akko! Believe in Diana believing in you!

Looks like the final battle is coming! Will Akko and the rest help Ursula/Chariot and unlock the seventh word? Let's see what happens next!

Aaah, those feels... and despair again, what a sad start of the episode. But Diana certainly proved to be the best friend, her conversation with Akko which gave her some motivation again was godly.

And the end, with all Croix's machines ready for Noir Fuel Magic... two-ep finale really gotta be interesting. Their next meeting with Akko would not be before after the end, no doubt.

Goddamned Internet trolls bullying Chariot. Seems to be a recurring theme here.

So Chariot accidentally stole a bit of Diana's magic too? Considering how strong Diana seems to be, there's still hope for Akko!

"To be honest, I didn't much care for you when we first met." You don't say, Diana >_> Okay, okay...Diana has become a much better character in the second half. I'm very glad the show's given her a sympathetic role rather than just making her the bitchy rival.

"I'll stop you here and now." Alright! Kick her ass, Chariot!

In the previous episode, it seemed that the faults were all ascribable to Chariot, instead the narration reveals the true background on the past of Croix and Chariot, putting in full light what really happened. Really intense the narration when Diana and Akko dialogue with each other, this moment, together with that inherent to Akko's research, managed to excite me more than anyone. The ending puts many expectations on the battle that is about to break out between good and evil, yay!

This one truly warmed my heart. Diana's love for Akko has truly grown and extended selflessly into Akko's friend group as well. I'm so glad she was able to open up to Akko about everything. Without that, I'm not sure Akko would have been able to recover.

What do you think might happen when Akko gets the seventh word? Free magic available for everyone?

Welp, this show lost me at the end. I've started laughing at parts that are meant to be serious and emotional. I couldn't help but laugh at the start when Lotte looks all sad after seeing the snow falling outside the window. And when Diana found Akko sitting on the bench with all the lumps of snow on her head hahaha. I don't know why snow is so funny in this show lol.

Despite the problems Akko could cause, all of her friends, including Andrew and Diana, knew that it was those problems that Akko turned into a good thing, seeing each of Akko's friends worry about it was beautiful, even Diana had faith in her.
Since episode 13, Lotte and Sucy have less prominence, but in this episode the short scenes in which they appear are wonderful, seeing Lotte cry and ask Akko not to leave is touching and satisfying to know that even though Akko is often alone, there will always be people looking for her with love.
Seeing Diana giving faith to Akko was beautiful, she told him the reason for her dream, and Chariot regrets what he did, I hope to see them together again;)

Superb little episode. I love Akko a lot as well as Sucy and Lotte but Diana's been equally as great too with these last few episodes, glad all of them got together at the end and spent some time together too after looking for depressed Akko for a while in terrible weather conditions. Also got some Chariot backstory and it was a simple but rough one. When you have a dream and you are someone like Chariot. you go headstrong for it where sometimes, you forget sometimes what you have to sacrifice to get there. Here, she fell for Croix's advice of using the audience's dreams to fuel her energy to perform outlandish tricks and took away a good chunk of other people's dreams of being witches (or who wanted to be affiliated with magic from that crowd at least). Seeing Diana work hard towards getting to where she is from a really young age does show that Akko does have some potential for the future to get better on her own. Sure she isn't as smart as Diana and doesn't have the resources/expectations that pressured Diana to outperform from a young age but Akko still has some life in her to go forward and still aim to be the best witch she can be.

I don't have Netflix so I can't say. It could be due to encoding and compression, but nowadays sounds strange to make such an amateur-ish mistake.

However, what you report sounds familiar. Does your TV have local dimming and dynamic contrast by any chance? Changes in bright mid-shot is a common side effect (very annoying, indeed). Having said that, you probably would have noticed already in other shows, but maybe still worth to check your tv settings and make sure such filters and functionalities are off.

This was definitely a great episode. Now, we know that Chariot stealing magic wasn't truly her fault, as she didn't know that Croix tricked her.

Even so, Diana managed to gain all her magic back with practice, which means that Akko can too! Diana definitely shone in this episode. She even gave Akko her Chariot card. Now, Akko is back to her old self again!

Meanwhile, Chariot is facing off against Croix. What will happen?

Yeah, like one of the commenters pointed out I was also overthinking how the show would present Ursula as a hypocrite. Turns out she was simply just manipulated by Croix.

Sucy and Lotte felt like they've been sidelined these past few episodes, so it's nice to see that they're getting more screentime, along with the other girls. But it could be just me since I tend to watch anime slowly. I mean, they've been with Akko since the very beginning. Although it does make sense that it's Diana that confronts Ursula. Sucy doesn't seem to be the sentimental type, and Lotte isn't as assertive. Along with Diana being smart enough to figure out that Ursula is Shiny Chariot, and she's a "rival" to Akko.

"I swear, if Akko doesn't come back, she'd better hope I don't find her." What's Amanda going to do? Go to Japan?

Yeah, I can see now why people ship Akko and Diana. I did enjoy fan art of them, and the whole "rival" dynamic is great! But before that, I liked the friendship dynamic Akko had with Lotte and Sucy better. Hey, who says you can't enjoy all three ships?

I wonder if there's a significance with Croix wearing glasses when she was younger, but now she doesn't, while it's the other way around with Ursula? Could be just me overthinking things, lol.

Croix is awful and manipulative, I can't believe she tricked Chariot into doing something so against her character with no regrets. Poor Chariot, her intention to bring others happiness was used against her.

Diana is a great voice of reason and the way she was able to relate herself to Akko is a beautiful touch of writing. The two came from similar circumstances and are complete opposites in their growth. Diana should be Akko's true inspiration. Diana had to mature and chase the reality of her situation with hard work and determination. While Chariot let the naivety of her dreams cloud her judgment and she fled from the consequences. The way Little Witch Academia turned Diana into such a well written role model is one of many reasons I love the anime! She came through on this episode.

The way everyone searched for Akko and was worried about her melted my heart! The bond in the anime is sweet, I can't get over it.

So we finally learn about Chariot and her past: She was like Akko during her early years, always wanting to use magic for making people happy, and all the way up to the sixth Word, had no issues. But despite her staying true to her dream, she just couldn't get that last word and everyone was getting tired of her tricks, so she had to come up with something new, and then enters Croix with the Dream Fuel Spirit magic idea.

So while she had good intentions, she just didn't know how much not being chosen by the Shiny Rod affected Croix.

But of course, Diana was the star of this episode, and well deserved of that mention, too. She already deduced Ursula to be Chariot, then chatised her when she didn't go after Akko, then took matters into her own hands.
