That last scene! HA I knew she was just being shy!
This show is great, best idol show since iM@S! Picked up forever. The focus on the nerdy fans is great. I couldn't imagine being such an OG fan that you got a flyer directly from her. Kino.

The real-life account of an idol, much more the fans themselves? I'M SOLD. At least this is way better than Back Street Girls: Gokudolls.

The title is as suggestive as it gets, but this is just the beginning of a hard and long fight between idol Maina of idol group ChamJam and hardcore fan Eripiyo. THAT'S SOME INSANE DEDICATION! Praise to the OGs!

Even waiting for limited-edition merch for otakus are as hard-headed as well! That's the life of a fan. Her wish: for Maina to reach Budokan before she dies.

Never had so much fun watching another idol-ish show, and this is the premiere episode! Definitely a good investment! 5/5

This was so hilarious, I love it!
Eripyo is such a hardcore Maina fan.
Maina's just shy but she really does appreciate having a fan like Eripyo!

Lovely.
I'm curious how far their relationship will go and how Eripiyo managed to change so drastically, she surely didn't have a very happy life before.

As an idol fan, I am very much satisfied with the tone of this show.

I like how it pokes fun at the idol culture, but deep down it seems to be very much about the (often hard to explain) connection between idols and (hardcore) fans.

I, for one, hope it doesn't turn into some sort of love story. It is rare to get an idol anime which has a natural vibe to it. And I would like it to stay that way till the end.

(And damn!! The fans being disappointed with the outfits was all too relatable.)

Ive waited in line for meet and greets hours in advanced...and in the heat as well. It sucks but it's freaking worth the wait.

I like Kumasa a lot and I am surprised he is less cringey then i thought he would be. Eripiyo's cringe levels are through the roof though.

I was pretty cynical about this show at first because, look at those idols -- they all looks like the same person with different hair styles. But the sheer novelty of what this show is about kept me interested and the joke about salmon pink is pretty hilarious too. I also liked the background art and the colours palette in general. They remind me of Sailor Moon. The city feels magical. Knowing it is produced by 8bit it is safe to say the art is gonna have a relatively steady quality.

I really hope the show is going to get deeper into the underground idol subculture in Japan and does not become another typical idol/yuri show with generic melodrama where everything is watered down to "friendship", "hope" and "effort". I would really like to see some insider's perspective into this weird otaku subculture that doesn't exist in anywhere else except for Japan.

After the TV commercial of the comics has been imprinted on me hundreds times for a few years, the anime version came finally. Although I didn't know what kind of comic it is, it turned out that the protagonist is extremely enthusiastic and almost annoying. Anyway, having watched this episode, my curiosity was satisfied. But I wonder how they can develop the story with these limited elements.

Edit:
I strongly recommend you to watch the next episode.

I'm not sure how to feel about this. On one hand it is funny, but on the other it is sad and disturbing, especially knowing that this stuff seriously happens.
It is especially hilarious to watch this after one of the other Idol show disasters that fulfill all the worst stereotypes.
I highly doubt there will be any romance, because part of the whole Idol fetishization is the fact that they are pure and untouchable.

As someone that finds the whole Idol business from weird to disturbing, this anime might be decoding the enigma of that whole fascination. I will at least give it some more episodes.

Until now, i always bored to watching idol anime because they only telling about idol themself.

Then, this one come to us. This show tell us how a fan loving their idol. You can see Eripyo wait for long time in a very hot summer just to buy their single CD and get photo ticket, how a fan struggling to keep their idol always smile. So, this one is what i need to watch! I am a fans, not an idol. This show really relevant to my life!

I really love this art! Thanks to 8bit!

So, i give this 9/10 for now!

What a weird show." It took me a little bit to be able to rectify how it portrayed every single idol fan as being some kind of gross social malcontent, at least aside from the protagonist whose great sins are being really awkward and dressing like she's a gopnitsa without doing the Slav squat. The message there is a bit disquieting. Yeah, all those other fans are weird, strange, and gross, but not you. You just need a little confidence and to put on nice clothes, but you don't actually even need that. You shared a glance with the obect of your adoration and she was completely smitten with you.

It's romanticized stalker fanfiction, but we're supposed to take it as parody because… I'm not sure why, to be honest. There are a few overdramatized reaction faces here and there, mostly tucked towards the end, but most it is just the lead being awkward. Japan, you have enough shows about teenagers being awkward and uncomfortable dealing with literally goddamned everything.

Bruh, this relates me on every single level. As an idol otaku, I always want to meet and communicate with my oshi. And yes, idol actually remembers the fan's name.

The part of the two-shot photo event also exactly the same as IRL. Though, I never want to make heart shape because I don't want my oshi to think I actually have fallen in love with them.

At least, in my country, idol otaku is not as "filthy" as them. Members of the group often remind the fans to not suffer just for an idol. Back then, a lot of wota fasting for a week just for more money.

Wooow xD This was something.

By the Way the animation is really good! The dance didn't have any CGI in it right?!!!
In these days you very rarely see idol lives without CGI, even the animes that has more budget uses them.

I thought this would be pretty meh based on the premise but it's fun enough so far. I was very surprised the performance part was not CGI so it seems they got good budget to pull it off.

Tbh, hoping it starts to go a little differently from here. Like Eripiyo showing more genuine appreciation rather than the blind obsession. Haven't read the manga so I don't know what I'm getting into, but so far it's looking like a fascinating new take on the idol genre and I'm ready for it. The jokes and jabs at idol otaku were great too, but considering I felt personally attacked and audibly said "ouch" I'm wondering if I should reevaluate my life choices, lol.

I know it's supposed to be funny and all... but I couldn't help but cringe throughout the entire episode. Poor girls, having to face these creeps. And moreover - being touched by them, made me want to wash my hands in acid.

On the bright side - all idol girls seem very cute and lovable. Wonder why Maina is the least popular of the group, she's at least cuter then the girl in green (can't remember her name).

While I love Idolmaster and other idol series what I hate is that those shows are not for actual idol fans. I don't think they are even capable of converting anime fans into idol fans. At the very least outside of Japan where everyone seems to hate 3D girls.

Now I don't know about this series' original source or it's author but I do know idols. There will be yuri. Since idols are forbidden to love they "love" all within the groups. In the SKE48 family Matsui Jurina has stolen so many first kisses from her kouhai. It's like this in many, if not all, idol groups.

So far I've only been into fictional idol groups and alt-idols
not very into the pop aesthetic and made up personalities in 3D idols as opposed to a 2D world

Gotta love the undertones of elitism from 3d idols fans. From my point of view 2D idols are all I need, I have better things to waste my time at.

Wow, this surprised me so much. Nice directing, flashes of possible development, unorthodox chara designs for an idol show, unusual underground setting, not a bad comedy and overall great amount of potential depending on where the anime decides to go.

For the first time in like 3 seasons, I can say I'm thrilled to follow an anime throughout its run.

Higurashi Gou is the worst anime in existence.

Joking aside, a good episode. Laughed at some parts, a little over dramatic, but it was good. Wished there were more female fans and not just male fans 'cause ya know, female fans for female idols exist. Not saying this needs to be a yuuri, just idk more female fans would be nice lol.

Baudrillard weeps.

It was really really fun, above expectations. Actually somewhat realistic and grounded, decent comedy and an interesting dynamic between Maina and Eripiyo(so unique that I'm halfway sure it would be the only example of the like in anime). If big 2D-idol franchises are like SAO this is closer to Netojuu and that in a medium which I am more familiar and in love with.

Maina sure was disappointed that Eripiyo didnt take the full picture huh? well she was "running away" from her for ages, so the fact she is still loyal is more than good enough haha

but damn waiting in the sun for all those hours sure sucks , ofc it would be the hottest day of the year LOL

I don’t know why people expect an idol anime when the synopsis clearly says that it’s an anime mainly about idol fans. The fans are the main focus of the anime, not the idols.
I’ve been looking forward to it and I loved the first episode. Everything is so spot on, and Eripiyo is a great character.

I really love it!

It's a bit over the top but it actually works like that.
And seeing a female fan going crazy about a female idol even makes it more fun.
Whenever it's an yuri story or not.

Maybe maybe it's just a normal idol story I don't know.
But in daily life you see kinda GUY STANS female IDOL.

But you never actually see GIRL STANDS FEMALE IDOL.
Whenever you love a girl or not...
It's a special thing.

I also would be glad if my no.1 idol would be the same SEX.
somehow it's nice to have also fans of the same sex ^^

Oh my goodness, yes. This...ugh I keep thinking if I grew up in Japan, I'd go buy up tickets to handshake events to save these poor girls because I have this big sister instinct that makes me willing to take drastic measures to protect anyone smaller and/or cuter than me. I can and will dropkick a creepy idol wota, and carry travel sized hand sanitizer bottles to give to all the idols and their staff.

At least Eripiyo had the decency to think about her BO after waiting in line and in the hot sun all day. I feel pretty bad because now that I think of it, idols probably deal with that daily. I'm in an idol cosplay dance group, and after our long rehearsals I can barely stand being around my girls until after everyone showers. Creepy middle-aged dudes are out of the question.

Also, Eripiyo was so hilarious af xD

Overall.....
1st ep was unexpectedly good.
The performance of the idols were great also no fucking CGI and the songs was good.

So in their group, my fav so far are Sorane and Maki

interesting take having the perspective of an obsessed fan for a idol show and they seem to be local idols so it's neat to see them be so personal with their fans, speaking of fans it shows how crazy Stans can be you messed up when the big sweaty otaku is telling you that you're too intense.

show was pretty damn funny though i do agree portraying every fan as some kind of crazy obsessed fan could be seen as a problem hopefully they add someone that is just ya know normal and not stalker-ish
