I have to be honest with you
You all could see how much I love this anime, but this ending episode was meh
Like, the rocket scene should have been intense, but it wasn't because the music didn't draw that emotion out of me. Whole this Diana & Akko scene, it wasn't intense at all. Just cute. And for the great finale it should have been AMAZING, not CUTE.
I loved the ending when Akko finally learned how to fly, but that felt rushed as well.. I needed 15 more seconds at least, of their happiness and interacting with each other, so I actually feel their happiness.
The rocket scene was so damn bad I can't even begin to explain. AMAZING animation WASTED because of someone's bad directing. I don't know, I just felt very bored trough whole episode. :( And I'm sad that the finale ended that way. It's still my favorite anime of all time, but I'm disappointed with this ending

I don't know who directed this episode, but please, don't let that person direct finale ever again.

You sat through around 20 boring, happy go lucky episodes with no substance whatsoever, and now you're complaining about a happy, cheerful ending? Did you forget what anime you were watching? And you say it's your favorite, LOL. The finale was one of the best, if not the best episode of the anime, and it fit the series perfectly.

Some people hated the entertaining SOL early episodes, some people hated the plot centric second half. I guess you just can't please everyone.

I'm going to remember this series for a very very long time, thank you Trigger.

Amazing? ABSOLUTELY YES!! I was so hyped for this series when I first saw the short films. I personally love the fantasy and magic genre, and I'm so glad this series turned out to be amazing, since a part of me was prepared for this to be a failure. I would love to give this a 10/10, but one thing has prevented me from doing so. Seeing the first 10 or so episodes, I was instantly hooked on this series. The anime made a turn from the fantasy school comedy genre to a more serious sci-fi adventure halfway through. Don't get me wrong, I loved the entire series, but I feel like that change of storytelling came too suddenly, which is why I can't consider this a true 10/10. But oh man! The ending was also just beautiful in every way possible, almost perfect in my opinion. What can I say? I love Atsuko's character. Is she cringy? Yes... Does she have any shame at all? Probably not... But nonetheless, her character was so lovable all the way through, even if she's a bit annoying at times lol. The soundtrack of this entire show really shows the ideal fantasy track. The tracks are epic when need be, and also incredibly radiant. And of course, you can't forget the "a believing heart is our magic" line. Call me childish if you want, but I love lines like those! And you can't ignore the stunning animation done by Trigger studios, who has done many visually stunning works in the past such as Kill la Kill and Kiznaiver. So should you watch it? Yes! If you've read this entire post and you're still not impressed, please still give it a watch anyways!

All's well that ends well. Great ending.

Of course the girls had to deal with that missile. Croix's magic went out of control when she was defeated, after all. I liked how all the girls worked together and the whole world supported them. A magic to change the world, indeed. Even Andrew's dad noticed that his son was right and he also got interested in witchcraft. :D

Diana and Akko defeating the missile together was so awesome! I liked how that legendary sentient broom from episode 3 came to their help. Now that's a great "Chekhov's Gun"!

Not sure if Croix was forgiven for her evil deeds in the end since she was escorted out of Luna Nova, but I think she redeemed herself more or less.

Everyone is friends now. I liked Barbara and Lotte reading together. :D
Yay! Akko can fly! Everyone was so surprised that Constanze talked! Who wants to see Akko flying when you can hear Constanze talking? Now, that's a miracle! xD

Great show all in all. My favorite from Trigger so far.

Beautiful ending. It's too bad that the story was so long to start because it was very good after that.
Overall, It was very funny to follow Ako through all her adventures, but I found the anime less good than the OVA

Lovely finale to a pretty cute show :)

Seeing Akko/Diana duo was touching and Profressor Chariot with her red hair is way sexier than prof.ursula

and The prime minister finally made an appearance! and Constanze Spoke! So many resolution in 1 episode

Good ending, even though as a finale it could have been better and I would also do without that deus ex machina when they were running out of their energy, asking people for help through TV (felt bit cheesy, right). They would probably blame the witches that their magic caused everything in the first place in the end. I also can't help but feel that some plot-points were left open-ended in favour of possible continuation (Andrew's relation to Akko or rebuilding the world magic leylines for example). I would certainly liked one last closing movie like KyoAni does theirs.

Also, Croix did some horrible things and considering everything was her own fault she shouldn't be left around to go whetever she wants and be put to jail (even if volutarily). She toyed with the lives of thousands of people and even more. Some things simply shouldn't have been overlooked.
But man, Ursuala with her red hair is pretty hot in her teacher's attire :)

Anyway, it was really great searies from the start to the end. And also well written and skillfully animated. I enjoyed it so much and I like how they always managed to tell their self-contained story with each episode. The setting was also done greatly.

8.5/10 Great magical show managed to hit the niche pretty well. With great characters, animation, music direction, also with wonderful stories. Really recommended (half point down for the two ending episodes that weren't bad but could have been better when compared with the rest of the series).

This whole show felt like a waste of time since around episode 8, but I continued watching to see if it ever got up. It only got worse and worse. It's a crime that this has a bigger score than the OVA.

I tend to agree with what most other people are saying: this is a spectacular ending episode for a pretty good anime. The show itself has little substance up until about Episode 20, but still succeeds in being what I feel is a pretty satisfactory cute, happy-go-lucky show. Every once in a while the show gives you the butterflies, and I think that satisfying rhythm is just enough to keep you watching. 8/10

P.S. Diana is best girl, don't @ me.

Episode was pure genius yet again. It really did a good job holding on till the end. The music with it made me a bit emotional. It was even a bit funny when the broom turned into a rocket to. Battle was short. And it fet good that akko could finally fly. I really will miss this anime.

Well, rather predictable ending. It was rather obvious from the start that the monster filled with hatred would go out of control. Croix's redemption was also rather predictable. First half of the show with silly episodes like Sucy's dream was much better in my opinion.

Shit. A giant missile running off negative energy...witches unintentionally did 9/11.

"It doesn't look like it'd be tasty at all!" They just had to make one more joke about the random fat girl who does nothing for the story liking food. Though she did finally become useful as part of stopping the missile.

I wish everyone would stop shooting down Andrew. Kid knows what he's talking about.

The girl in the crowd who first shouted "I'm going to put my faith in the witches!" kinda looks like Mako from Kill la Kill.

"They're just a bunch of witches! And mere children, at that!" Well, when the appointed protectors are seemingly incompetent, the people will definitely put their faith in anything else that looks promising. Even the prime minister's changed his mind about witches.

Heh, Akko and Diana's magic made a cute little smiley face :3

Croix has a new goal...helping Chariot be able to fly again. I ship it.

Season 2 when? This story can still go so much further than "Akko can fly now".

Trigger does it again!! I enjoyed this way more than I expected. LWA did what not many anime have done for me so far and made an asspull acceptable w/ the broom saving Akko from falling. Thing came outta nowhere but somehow I agree that it works lol. Loved the show's overall message and I regret not watching it when it first came out. Went to the Trigger panel at AX 2016 and saw some designs and stuff for this show and I'm so happy with how it ended up. Gonna say that this is my favorite Trigger/Gainax show behind Gurren Lagann! I would love to see more of this but that was a pretty darn good ending.

That was a good ending for the series, I thought. Not as edge-of-the-seat as it could be, but I appreciate it for what it is.

I'm still unsure whether this series is ultimately pro-technology or anti-technology. I'm probably looking too deeply into this, though.

well the final battle was visually entertaining. overall I liked the show, but I do have some problems. Basically what everyone had a problem which was the second half. Her finding out the words in a slice of life fashion while developing characters is fine, but croix being a villain felt utterly pointless and forced. It just felt like the team was like "welp we need a bad guy" and they just picked her. would of liked more of why everyone hates witches. it just seems everyone got bord with them, but it has to be more to that. Also witches can breath in space who knew.

Here is my idea for my Dianakko family

Oldest daughter via artificial donation via Andrew with Diana being pregnant

Younger daughter a year younger than her older sister, she exist the same way of older sister except this time Akko is the one who get pregnant

Youngest son, via adaption much younger than his sisters.

Hmm that resolution seemed really rushed. Honestly though, I think I enjoyed seeing Akko learn to fly more than when they saved the world. lol.

At the very least- it felt like maybe seeing the Yggdrassil tree again could've maybe restored magic to the world? That would've been pretty cool. But I guess I'll settle for Akko flying. Definitely a good-feels moment. Her smile was too infectious.

everyone should watch this through to the end - it pays off in the most amazing way! i haven't been moved to tears of joy on the ending of an anime in what seems like forever - i was planning on giving this one a 8 or 9, but this episode moved it to a full 10 for me. trigger is the true genius studio and the only one that seems capable of producing truly "magical" anime these days - kill la kill being up there with this one (i'm currently re-watching it) - here's to hoping they can continue moving us in a way that seems almost lost in these later days of lesser works - i feel nothing but love to the people who produced this work of wonder - hopefully we get to see further versions of this excellent universe - THANK YOU TRIGGER!!!

I mostly liked it but I've been wanting Croix to go to jail (or something) for several episodes now, so that aspect was disappointing. Like sure she was ~misguided~ and didn't foresee the full negative consequences of her actions but I don't feel that excuses her of everything, just some of the blame. They'd have had an easier time selling me on her redemption if they hadn't shown her past with Chariot, how she decieved Chariot and manipulated her emotions at the concert (and still hasn't told her about that, I think) and still is like 'well you damaged the moon!!!'.

In some ways it might have worked better to leave both Chariot and Croix as ambiguous figures, but then it would have been difficult to have a happy ending.

I also want Chariot to find out that she also took some of Diana's magic.

Ahh I loved it so much. Endings are the worst. I feel like crying now haha. The series was fantastic. I've always loved witches and I love series like these that deal with school and magic. I actually wrote a story when I was little about a school of witches haha.
Definitely going to miss it. The only thing I thought was a bit weird is the misile thing. It sure if I'm the only one who thinks this but it felt very random and all of a sudden to me. I don't think it fit the series at all. Not sure why but it seemed very out of place to me.
And the whole flying forwards the misile was a little silly.

I think it would have been better if it was something else. Something more "magical"? I guess. And they could have still save the day the same way.
But again I loved it and now I'm super sad it's over.
9/10 for me

Just to get the bad out of the way first, this finale was truly underwhelming. I was starting to lose steam and was ready for it to be over at this point. Ever since the second half, LWA was starting to veer off the course of what made the earlier episodes so enchanting. It was around episode 16 that it started to become hit or miss up through the end. It felt as though the emphasis on Croix and the 7 Words led to a missed opportunity to bring out the potential of the world building that had been established prior. A world where witches and magic were becoming obsolete in the face of technology felt like a very promising dynamic that just didn't follow through like it should have. The whole "rogue missile" plot at the end felt disjointed and inconsequential (not much really came up of the whole "soccer politics" bit), ending with a rather abrupt revelation that the entire world would suddenly realize the value of magic and embrace it once again. In LWA's defense, however, I do still like the end result and how it brought out that theme of believing in magic (a point I'd like to expand on later). The TTGL reference was also stellar and the focus on Diana later on helped more episodes hit their mark through it all.

With that said, Akko and Diana's magic duo was absolutely fantastical. In a way, Akko's dream was realized as the entire world was entranced and beguiled by her sincere love for magic. She was able to inspire people all across the globe to believe in magic and thus passed her dream onto millions of people as well. That ultimate Shiny Arc was incredible and this gif pretty much says it all:

Overall, I think LWA was a missed opportunity that still proved to be a gem. Maybe not a diamond, but shiny nevertheless. 8/10

And on a side note, Akko finally being able to fly was probably one of the better moments in this final episode. It's a nice touch on the whole idea that Akko shines brightest when she's approaching it with a free spirit and pure love for magic.

Trigger saves anime again.

Couldn't have picked a better series to be my 300th. 9.5/10, and not a perfect 10 because I felt like the ending conflict, and the development of Ursula/Chariot and Croix could've been done better - as it was, it felt a little disjointed and rushed. Oh, and we didn't get to hear Lotte sing in the main series! I'm still rounding it up to a 10 for my MAL score though, because despite these nitpicks, I friggin' loved this show from start to finish. It had all the heart of a Trigger/Gainax show but with a sugary sweet wrapping and surprising depth.

Just like KLK, I don't feel like this needs a season 2. I'll be ecstatic if there ever is one, but the story feels complete in every way.

I watched the dub (since it was more suitable for the setting), and it did the job admirably. Netflix definitely didn't let the ball drop on that one.

Sigh. Time to dwell in the sweet afterglow/void now.

A lot of people cry about cliché but I personally think that's what makes this anime so good too watch.

Akko gets everyone rallied up at the end just puts the icing on the cake.

It was a nice entertaning, funny, light school fantasy adventure show. I liked the mixture, it was easy to watch, a nice show after a rough day. No hard understandable story, but interesting enough and with some drama in the end. The stereotype characters were also not difficult to follow. I liked genki Akko! As I said, a good show after a rough day. ^^ Obviously it was targeting girls, but others also could enjoy it. The animations were good and lifely, too. First I thought futuristic Croix is somehow out of order, but in the end it was a nice touch to the Harry Potter like fantasy setting. FInally some words about the audio part: No bad voice akting. Akko was fantastic. ^^ And the first OP and the second ED songs are awesome, one of the best songs last year and a great addition to my personal music hall of fame. =D Altogether nothing wrong with this show within its genre. Well done and a solid 0,87 from me!

In all seriousness I really did enjoy the conclusion to this great series. I'm going to miss watching it for a while.

The only shame is that they didn't really properly reconcile Croix to anyone really, I didn't like that at all. They kind of just go with it and in one of the final shots she's seen departing from Luna Nova as if she did nothing wrong

From the past 1 to 24 episodes, I have nothing to say but praises for this show. A lot of people were turned off by the SOL nature of this show but I was never bored by it. I loved it and I became even more interested when the plot was taking off. Akko and Diana were definitely the best characters in the show. It was definitely a 10/10 from that point however, I'm not too fond with this ending myself.

As expected from Trigger though, they really have a boner for over-the-top scenes to keep their signature style. It may have worked with Kill la Kill but I don't think it did this time with LWA. I knew they wanted to highlight Akko and Diana's relationship but I think they already did enough. Her pep talk with Akko in the last episode was one of the best parts in the show. This ending made her look like a "pseudo-Chosen One" with Akko. Studio Trigger really has this obsession with space battles which by the way I'm also not complaining about. I liked the whole missile chase scene but something does bother me with this one. How do they even explain the whole missile issue? Like someone just leaked and broadcasted the missile flying through space (which by the way we never knew the culprit to and before anyone says it, no it wasn't Croix who did it at first) and suddenly the people watching it are now cheering the girls on. I feel like there should have been more panic and questions raised. The whole soccer politics in general wasn't really resolved. It was just a way for people to lend their emotional energy to Akko and gang to fuel their magic. The mob were rioting emitting negative emotions and then suddenly they see magic and then everything's good and all.

The world in LWA is truly interesting and great. I can't say the same for the worldbuilding though. They introduced a lot of interesting concepts but never really fully explore into it. I can't fault the show for it though. Its episodic nature hinders its world greatly from developing but I still love even the tiny bits of information we get from their world.

They did Lotte and Sucy dirty in the second half of this show. They started out as Akko's best friends in the campus who would support her in whatever she does but they were demoted below Diana's role. They had less and less screentime throughout the show and became less relevant to Akko as well. I genuinely love Diana and all but I think they could have handled Lotte and Sucy's characters better.

Also the whole thing about the moon was so random. I expected a lot more consequences for Chariot's actions. Croix made it sound like it was such a horrible thing to do in the past episodes but in the end, it was just something minor and all Chariot did was scar the moon's face lol. It didn't connect to the story at all.

Finally my last complaint, Croix got away too easily. I know that they wanted to make this ending wholesome but Croix deserved way more judgment than she had. She manipulated everything that happened and her magical creature even sent a fucking missile to another country.

Anyway, despite all the negative things I said, I still think this show is worthy of at least a 7/10 from me. This ending didn't really sit well with me but I can't give it a lower score than that because I loved everything from the show except for this ending.

I kind of doubt it because of the way everything was wrapped so well in the end. Also, since the scriptwriter Michiru Shimada has passed away, I wonder if whoever takes over would be able to live up to the hype. Not that I'd be against it, I couldn't wish stronger for a sequel IF they make it as good as the original.

With that said, check out the manga. It's surprisingly good and contains a lot of chapters/stuff that is not part of the anime.

Wow.
That is how you do a final episode! The climax was epic, yet it still retained the ADN of the series, being extremely cute, pure, silly and magical.
I cried on ep24 when Akko and Chariot reunited, it was a very powerfull scene, but this episode ended it even better. Words arent enough, granted there are anime I have rated higher or enjoyed more than LWCA but most of them dont feel as innocent and just purely loveable as what Trigger pulled up here.
Trigger inherit all Gainax greatness after Anno left, all the remaining talent that had made Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagan! LWA TV my second favorite series coming from them.
From early on the cast had potential, and they did a great job at exploring it (Akko and Diana being my favorites).
Part of the charm is from the awesome animation here, not as over the top as previous works but really refreshing change of pace from the likes of Kill la Kill.
OST had some nice songs, but my favorite is probably OP2 (both EDs were really well crafted!).
Only thing I feel they could delivered a bit more is the plot, but there is room to grown and expand here, and it would be amazing if a sequel come and pick up where this one left from (though I have no ideas on how they could go with).

Yuri FTW!

Again, not the best anime outhere, but we need more like this, I like my share of generic, fanservice moments, but I feel that the industry NEEDS more of this naivete, creativity and courage of exploring new ideas.

Overall I found the witch academy a good anime to accompany during the holidays, the plot of the same and peculiar and not very forced, which makes it a great anime. In the direction part of it was a balanced thing thanks to a staff that knew how to deal with the right vision. In reality I did not follow Akko's scandalous trajectory because it was another TRIGGER anime, and it kind of caught my attention. Good and this ...

Evaluation.

Animation 7.5
Development 6.0
Characters 6.0
Conclusion 6.5

Fun and wholesome, loved it! Hope we get some kind of sequel in the future now that Akko can fly.
eu acho que se divigase uma news sobre um novo anime seria bem que um O.A.V de Akko e suas companheiras no outro lado de fora, no caso seria na cidade. ;)
