Hum... That guy really is specifically after State Alchemists. And seems to have a good reason for it. So that's what happened in that Ishbal war that's been mentioned quite a few times. It sure was a sad incident. Did they really have no choice but a massacre? Anyway, the episode was great, though Ed was acting all depressed and all (but that's kinda normal after what he witnessed last episode). And those villagers really are foolish: to be once again deceived by a Priest (which this time isn't even the same one since he was killed) after Ed leaked that conversation. And what's up with those strange beings? I'm guessing they're 7 since they have the name of the mortal sins... And why are they trying to stir up a commotion? Well, no point in asking since I guess I'll find out soon enough.

Other scenes I really enjoyed were the dream (quite creepy) and the scene with Roy, who tells everyone to stand back and advances looking all badass, just to be reminded he can't do anything in a rainy day xD

"Gluttony with the same voice as Lloyd (Code Geass), LOL."

No, Lloyd was voiced by Tim O'Brian while Gluttony was voiced by Chris Cason

Don't get me wrong i love the artwork but does anyone else hate the way gluttony is shown with the big round nose and dot eyes, it seems so different from the rest of the characters and ruins the art in my opinion if he is in the scene. Other than that great episode!

The dream sequence was awesome.

I'm liking the Hawkeye girl, she's pretty cool. I also thought the part where Al's arm feel off to be rather comedic.

Poor Roy... he just has terrible timing/luck. Lol

Oh and I can finally recognize Rie Kugimiya's voice (Alphonse). It took me forever, but when Alphonse was lecturing Ed, it was just sooo noticeable (vintage Rie Kugimiya)! Haha :D

awesome episode!!

the Liore scene is much more darker and brutal than the first season.

Envy's voice seems to be change too :\

don't mind that new voice though :P

Takayama, Minami. known as Conan!!

it seems Homunculus goals are much different than the first season(drive anyone into creating the philosopher's stone to make them human)

the battle between Ed and Al against Scar is awesome!!!

Ed is much more scared here than ever.

Riza with that side sweep with Roy is so classic :)

and Scar is hell bent on destroying everyone this time around

love the battle between Armstrong and Scar.

it seems Scar destructive power has a blue lightning effect compared to the first season where a red lightning one was used.

amazing episode!!!

man im loving it so far, and it is leaps and bounds better than the first season(in terms on how the battles are told)

im freaking addicted to Fullmetal Alchemist O___O

Very good! Scar was a hell lot more grave, ex. 0 talk compared to the Original. I like the Brotherhood interpretation of this scene more than the Original. Edward was less whiny and the fight was better.

I'm sensing the war against the Ishvalans is central to this story. The Scar guy sure is insanely powerful

First episode where I'm not comparing series. It was good! Every episode always keeps your attention.

I really liked Al's post-fight freakout at Ed and Ed's sacrifice, where behind the yelling you could tell they really love each other

some of the things I really like in this anime so far:

-Ed's pretty long hair (god I just love long hair, and it's probably the first time I've seen that on a shounen protagonist)
-the opening
-the really weird muscle guy with a blonde mustache
-Lust and Envy
-the fact that Ed isn't invincible and has to be saved

hopefully the list expands

Again, there is a summary of the mega event than what we have seen in the FMA, but the story still works well and links the various events in a credible manner. Thing that leaps to the eye, is the humor that remains fairly consistent compared to the FMA.

We get a bit of a backstory with the Ishtians or what they're called..That scar guy is particularly annoying..

This was one of my favorites parts of the 2003 version and it sure kicks ass here as well! Scar is such a badass character and the Elrics gave me feels on this one. I love it also how Riza saved Roy, she just protects him always, even if it means to disobey him and making a fool of him haha. This episode is just so good and the moment where I start to see how great this show will be.

Awesome fighting scene, classy scenes with Armstrong. Too bad Ed and Al were harmed, but at least they survived and the only things that got harmed were their metal parts.

So the state's dirty past has resurfaced. It seems they slaughtered Ishvalan people en masse to eliminate the uprising. Even though it does look like a last resort situation I think it's a very cruel and inhumane act to do such a thing. I wonder what was Führer's reasoning when giving that order. It's unusual for a show to make their main characters, the people you're supposed to root for, carry out such atrocities. I do really like the fact that the show is challenging the idealized notion of a hero. Things have started taking an interesting turn.

3.5/5 Solid episode.

Armstrong is as delightful as ever!
Lots of similarities to 2003 in episodes 2-5.
I personally like the faster pacing. FMA manga/original anime had a good time gap of release, so it was probably assumed you looked into one or the other.

Envy made their intro by posing as Father Cornello and triggering a religious commotion at Rush Town. Envy's ability is really dangerous, considering how he can shapeshift into just about anyone.

It looks like Scar had lived through what was pretty much a state-sponsored genocide and that sucks. He wrecked the Elric brothers and almost finished Edward if it weren't for the help of the State Alchemists. Roy's pretty much out of action in the rain but Armstrong and Rize's fighting skills goes really well together.

Pretty intense episode. I love how this series can shift from the emotional moments to the humourous ones so effortlessly. Since I've re-watched this I already how Scar turns out, but so far he has a one-track mind. But he thinks everything he does through and is obviously a formidable foe.

&++ never change, Hughes, you're the best! lmao. Also props to Lust's seiyuu (Kikuko Inoue). Her sultry voice performance really does bring out the character
