Ah, a Kyousuke and Yuriko backstory eh?

Kyousuke, and his wife, Yuriko. While their relationship is a bit different from the typical couple, their meeting was vivid and seemed destined. Back in high school they were nicer to each other than they were in the present. While as well, Yuriko being as mean and aggressive as Hori is today. Meanwhile back in the present Hori tries to put on some of Souta's shirts until Miyamaru arrives and realizes how dumb she looks.

Man it's just nice going into the past of Kyousuke and Yuriko. It's clear as day that their very different then they are now in the present. I guess we know where Hori got her aggressive side from, like mother like daughter. Sengoku's dad is also a polar opposite of Sengoku. Backstory aside, Hori's character is exaggerated, but that's what defines her. Miyamura, despite being a teenager, stands out as the most exemplary parent in the series. He handles situations with a remarkable level of maturity, effectively disciplining both Hori and Sota. Naturally, Hori always prefers to have Miyamura on her side. 'The Hori Thing', LOL. Yousuke-san, you're not supposed to keep quiet when you have something as important as that to share, lmao. It was adorable to see Hori-san embarrassed when Miyamura caught her, great moment!

Interested to see how they top the first seasons finale next week.

Oh man, I'm glad to see adult relationships this season also being explored, specifically Hori's parents. Some of their moments were almost meme worthy.

Hori's father is hilarious in this. Hori herself had a lot of charisma although I find her "cold" moments to be comedy gold.

That had me dying when Hori’s mother Yuriko stopped Kyousuke from hitting a girl stating the reason that a man should never hit a woman, and then bitch slapped that same girl saying she could cause she a girl lmaooo.

Kind of a cute How I Met Your Mother segment in the first few minutes, though can't help but feel the roles have reversed now between Hori and Miyamura compared to how it was back in Kyosuke’s time. Anyways in the present, being an amusement park Hori’s household is, I’m kind of amazed over Miyamura’s capabilities. I mean he managed to stick for this long lol, when every other day these people in her house make a deal out of every small thing, and then.. sort them out in a way only they could lol.

Though good to have a bit of focus on Souta and Hori’s time as siblings, and must say that’s the only normal thing in their family. But from how it looks, seems Souta has more admiration for Miyamura than anyone in his family lol. Feels weird, but this is ending next week.

It was nice to see how Kyouko's parent's met and how there relationship formed, Yuriko is scary when she is angry.
Speaking of angry we got a lot of angry Kyouko this episode which was funny to watch in a way, things where resolved tho.
Miyamura made a big impression a Souta for him to write about him in class.

Need a spin-off about Hori parents ala Fruits Basket Prelude lol

Yuriko stopping Kyosokue from hitting a girl only to slap her herself was brilliant. Yea, harassing the girl that the guy you like likes is sure to make him like you 🀦🏽‍♂️

Second half of the episode was also really fun. Actually might be my fave segment of the side-story season. Hori and Miyamura chilling and acting like a normal teenaged couple is so enjoyable to watch. Just feels so authentic, obviously played up for laughs, but still one of the closest depictions of a real relationship.

Hori's parents backstory let's gooooo!
η™Ύεˆε (Yuriko) literally means "lily child"
Daaaamn Yuriko was a CHAD. "That's when I knew she was the one" lmao I love it.
17:34 剡ε€ͺ (souta). 剡 (sou) means either "genesis, originate, start" or "wound, injury"
Scene after credits! LMAO Miyamura really became a part of their family. He will be the one changing his surname at this point lol (can you do that?)
This was hilarious! And wholesome. Last episode next week! (noooooooooooo)
Now, where is my Yoshikawa x Ishikawa romance?
"Next time
Graduation"
They already showed the graduation at the end of the original series so I wonder what will happen next week.

The insight into how Hori's parents met back in school sure was fun. Yuriko was bold back then thats for sure. The Hori household is always so fun. Evil captain Hori sure was an impressive performance. While Hori's desire to protect her bro is understandable it does have the effect of making him not know the basics of housework that would be needed later on.

As the episode title says the Hori House is very lively. Miyamura gets put through the emotional wringer just by being over there. Miyamura being so close with Hori was Kyousuke and her little brother Sota is very cute. Those three make an adorable trio as they try to navigate the demon Kyoko. She was bashful wanting Miyamura to be always on her side, but he does have to point out when she's doing something she shouldn't be. Kyoko can be a little overbearing especially with Sota, she just wants him to be safe but being a little kid he wants to help like with the dishes. Playing pretend in Kyoko room too was cute, Miyamura trying to keep the peace as best he can. When all three Kyoko, Kyousuke and Sota are trying to get Miyamura to listen to their side you know they all love him. Miyamura has absolutely become a member of the Hori family, its great to see him just being at their house all the time. Interesting short look how the Hori parents meet in school. Kyousuke not being a delinquent exactly but still kind of on the fringes of the school. Yuriko being very sweet to him and Kyousuke wanting to return that by protecting her. Just like Kyoko and Miyamura they balance each other out well and make a great couple because of that.

Hori's parents Kyosuke Hori and Yuriko Koyanagi take the spotlight this episode! And while Yuriko is exactly how Hori would become, Kyosuke's relationship with Sengoku's father Takeru certainly was something else, but his relationship with Yuriko really was the one that kicked off the start of the family dynamics, into a masochist-kind of girl that Hori is now.

Nothing is ever that uneventful in the Hori house, and even more so with Miyamura joining in the fun and Sota just filling in whatever is noteworthy. And once again, Sota leaves his things all around the place which Hori bitches all around, leaving Miyamura in the neutral state of deescalating the situation, and Kyosuke always finds a way to nick at her. While Sota earns Hori's respect that he cleans up his place, both Miyamura and Kyosuke getting the cold feet treatment is just too funny to ignore.

Sota wanting to play astronaut, but Hori not giving him the light of day, and Hori sure has some words of hurt that not even Miyamura can fight back. But when they fight back, they earn the wrath of the masochist to a bad state. That said, kids his age is learning more and usually in school, but Miyamura not being able to write kanji is kinda of a funny aspect, and cleaning the dishes by himself, Hori gets angry too easily and scolds him out of anger, leaving Sota to weep about it. The young boy's really trying to step, and Miyamura manages to traslate it to Hori, though she whimpers, and the effect is passed onto Sota.

Oh well, couple fights like these are contrary, and for the better...if only not in a masochist state, All is well within the Hori family.

Oh, they finally adapted the story of Hori-san’s parents! I remember it leaving an impression behind when I read the manga, and this didn’t fail me do that either. It’s short but definitely gets the point across. Koyanagi-san’s scary face, “thorn”, seems really familiar for some reason, lmao. And they’ve the same ability to make wounds hurt worse with time, that’s scary…

Kyousuke-san just keeps messing things up with Hori-san, lol. She’s got no chill, for real. Miyamura the pacifist is too good.

Man, kanji’s tough. Miyamura, thank you. Of course, not everyone would be able to just write complicated characters from the get go, right?

Just another day in the Hori household. I wonder what next Ep will have in store for us, but I feel like they’re planning something special because of that final Ep visual too.

The backstory for Kyousuke and Yuriko was very nice, wish we got more of that. You can see where Hori gets her personality from, though she's way more extreme. Really fun episode focused on the Hori family that was very enjoyable. One of the best episodes of the season in my opinion.

The start with a Hori-Yoriko prequel was pretty great, summed up a few aspects of their personalities which also obviously were a nice parallel to how things were in the present time in the show. Love some sibling fights and other gimmicks, angry Sota is just way too cute, and I just noticed, the ED is pretty funky :>

Gasp, the backstory of Kyosuke and Yuriko! She looks like an older version of Hori while Kyosuke is Kyosuke. I really want to see more of the dynamic between Takeru and Kyosuke back in their high school days now. The part where Yuriko tells Kyosuke to stop and not raise his hand against a women only for her to slap the tongue out of her is incredible, that slap was a mean one too. I love the comparison of her to a lily flower, I think it matches well.

I'm so glad to see Sota have some screen time and more into how the Hori family is on a normal day, and we can definitely see that Hori is more like her father but cranked up while Sota is more of a mix between Yuriko and Kyousuke. Miyamura is like a mini section of the family with him being the peacekeeper, just like with Sota in the outer space game or Kyosuke in the previous scene.

The portion after Sota washing the dishes proves my point, with Miyamura trying to calm both Sota and Hori. Sota crying because he thinks Hori is upset with him while Hori is crying because she thinks Miyamura is mad at her while they both cling onto him is funny for some reason. More moments please between Miyamura and the Hori family. Like what Miyamura said, "The Hori house really is fun."

Great episode but now we're on the last week before the last episode.. Tα΄–T
Have a calming Saturday !

A whole episode focused on the Hori household, if you thought it would get boring you were very wrong, this is definitely one of my favorite episodes of the series. The flashback scene of Hori’s parents when they were in high school was very good, it definitely makes sense why Kyosuke fell for Yuriko with a slap that hard lol, I felt that one through the screen, had a lot of oomph to it, Yuriko is definitely a keeper and kept she was lol.

And there were so many funny moments between Hori and her brother Sota, I especially loved when they were “in space” and Hori savagely murdered Sota lol, that really felt like a realistic brother and sister moment. And Miyamura taking Sota’s side as much as he did eventually got to Hori, which in turn made Sota cry too lol, Miyamura has a lot to handle. Hori being royally pissed was also quite hilarious, Sota got back on her good side but Kyosuke and Miyamura weren’t so easily accepted again lol.

And we already have one episode left of this unexpected sequel, it went by so fast.

The Back Story of Hori's parents was good, but the scenes of Hori and Miyamura dont like me, i feel like Hori is mad for no reason in every episode, she was 90% red flags in this season, I don't think she's bad, but most of her cuts were angry or toxic moments, except for a few.

Making comedy out of domestic violence again, I see... Hori really has some anger issues, Miyamura is a saint for putting up with her.

The beginning of the episode was interesting, I'd rather watch more about the parents than those awkward attempts at humour.
