Including sushi?

I like ichigo daifuku. They are little difficult to make but taste is good even when I fail making them look good.

Cup Ramen is the most deluxe Japanese cuisine for sure, so I'll go with that.

Anime food can be discussed here where everyone lurks all time. Japanese food goes somewhere else.
Same thing they still are.

Anime food sets unhealthy standarts/expectations for rl food therefore it should be banned or at the very least - censored.

The closest thing that I've eaten in Japanese cuisine is cup noodles.
I always want to eat Takayoki.Nobody here even catches octopus let alone eat them.

Not that it matters, but it's actually deep fried shrimp. You might be disappointed since it has a mild flavor (as shrimp tends to), most of the flavor is in the coat you fry them in, if you like fried or battered foods and you like shrimp, you'll enjoy it. The soufflé omelette is basically just a light fluffy omelette, the main difference is just in the texture, though I'm not the most discerning person when it comes to these things. As for the beef sukiyaki, I've only tasted a very western version of it, so I can't really comment, but what I had was nice.

I don't know what my favourite 2D food is because I haven't tried drawn food before.
Tbf there's anime for a lot of food, so I'll just say a type of pasta. It exists.

You see that hamburger you ate yesterday? Yes, it's anime food now.

You've... Never had fried shrimp before?

But yeah I've pretty much tried every hard to find Japanese food in anime except for Shibuya Honey Toast and Naporitan. I'm really desperate to try honey toast since it looks so fucking good but there's no place that has it anywhere near me.

My favorites are probably tonkatsu curry, takoyaki, Japanese-style crepes, and Mont Blanc.

This is basically just a "Favorite Japanese Food" thread, labelled as anime, so it can be in the anime discussion threads. But, whatever.

The two I've always wanted to try was Okonomiyaki and Takoyaki.

There's really a lot of Japanese food i'd like to try out thanks to anime, though some foods would have to be tweaked to be made suitable since i'm a lacto-ovo vegetarian(including honey.)

Ramen(One of the ones i'd most want to try out, i ate noodle soup before, but it's probably nowhere near the real thing!)

Okonomiyaki

Takoyaki(Yes, there actually exist vegetarian versions of it!)

Omu Rice(sans the chicken meat of course!)

Sushi(Heard there's actually lots of vegetarian sushi, especially want to try tamagoyaki!)

Soba noodles

Kitsune Udon

Gyoza

Tempura

Bento box

Goma Dofu

Onigiri

Mochi(I'm dying to try some authentic traditional Japanese sweets and desserts!)

Sakuramochi

Daifuku

Dango

Ohagi

Taiyaki

Konpeitō

Pocky

Ramune

Dorayaki

Manjuu

Yokan

Karinto

Melonpan

Melon Soda

Black Sesame Ice Cream/desserts

Matcha Ice Cream/Parfait/Other Matcha Desserts

Other Japanese styled parfaits

Matcha Latte

Desserts/sweets/snacks/food made with Yam(Sweet potato)

Kakigōri

Red Bean Soup/Other Desserts/Sweets/Snacks with red bean paste

Japanese Crepes

Other Japanese sweets/desserts in general.

Vegetarian sushi is legit amazing, even my husband macks the stuff and he's all about the seafood normally.

Also, you know most of this stuff can be found at your neighborhood grocery chain, or WalMart, yes? Especially the sweets, or stuff made with red bean paste or chestnuts. And Japanese curry is SUPER easy to make (it's too sweet for me though).

I've always wanted to try a Japanese-style parfait, one of the really elaborate fruit ones. Making them at home just isn't the same. Mainly because I suck at making food look good, so it's always a sloppy mess, lol.

So are you basically just telling us our favorite Japanese food.

Other than sushi and teriyaki chicken, here's a list of the Japanese food I like:
+ Ramen
+ Pocky
+ Japanese Curry
+ Jelly Filled Donuts Onigiri/Rice Balls
+ Mochi (a bit too powdery, but still tasty)
+ Takoyaki (they sell this at my local sushi shop and I've been hooked up with them ever since)
+ Melon Bread (I tried baking these myself and they're pretty decent - but I think store bought ones would be better)
+ Tamago Kake Gohan (I only started making something like this and it's not that bad)
+ Pork Buns (I grew up eating pork buns and been eating them way before I knew anime)

And I've always wanted to try taiyaki and curry ramen...

Another one is whatever Soma cooked for Erina in one of the first episodes of SnS. The rice dish. Looked like heaven tbh

As for Japanese food specifically, I could mention that I like eel on rice, but I don't think I've ever seen that in anime. Also, Japanese food ain't cheesy enough anyway, and sushi is overrated.

So I'll go with some better answers:

* fried lizard (IIRC this was eaten in Heavy Object and Chain Chronicle)

* soybean sprouts, as pan-fried/sautéed and prepared with sauces by Yayoi Takatsuki

* whatever they ate on Sky Girls episode 17 when they were stranded on the island. nuts, mushroooms, fruits, fish, various wild greens, and one item was literally just raw sugarcane lol

I try not to think about the food that I see in anime, because the vast majority of it cannot be purchased or made where I live. Seeing food in anime makes me consider suicide. :(

Food in anime is looking very tasty, it looks better then in real life. In general I am a big amateur of cooking, when I was student, I have worked as kitchen porter for some time where I have learned a lot of things about how food is cooking. I am very pretentious to food and to the way how it is cooked so I prefer to do all things than to buy a ready food. For example I do not buy minced meat, I buy simple meat and minced it using my grinder. https://diligentchef.com/best-manual-meat-grinder/ can check there you will find good top of best grinders.
