| First cour volumes 9-11 since first episode is a hour long, 2nd cour 12-14, Third Cour 15-16 and Fourth cour 17-18. Then they can do a season doing the side story of Volume 19-20 |

| holy shit, a 4-cour series.. haven't seen a lot of these in a while, and it's SAO, a series that has a style of animation that I love. Excited for this!! Only thing I hope for is that Kirito will have a bit more personality than a goody goody good guy, same for the other characters. That and the story will not be a cheap lazily written feels grab edgy cringe drama that doesn't get developed. |

| Looking forward to it, didn't really like the 2nd season that much, I've heard a lot of gokd thing about this arc, a lot of persons say that this is the best arc in the series, well time to find out. |
| Well, this is a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. Gonna be interesting to see how the budget holds out over the four cours, but a whole year of SAO is fine by me. |

Staff got OPM S2 coming in Spring right after Index III and they gonna need all the time they can get to make the best of both. But I'm pretty sure they're planning more than just S3 down the line if the interviews are anything to go by, at least until the end of OT. |

That description was sorta "blunt" but to be more precise without spoiler. The setting and overall stakes take on a more "level-headed" and serious tone, away from games and previous hijinks. To me it really felt more like a high fantasy adventure starting down at the bottom and rising up in the world ( which also explains the length ), like a grand tale rather than a secluded arc like the previous ones. Kirito certainly becomes a lot more of a person in my opinion, mostly because the situation and circumstances pretty much demand it ( I wish I could say more but to explain how he is different would involve some spoiler ). If you're fan of Kirisuna ship, that one is getting a really nice and surprisingly mature touch to it. Side characters are given enough time and chances to properly get characterised and developed. The world is also a whole lot more interesting as it's more like a simulation than an actual game, a game of life almost. So yeah to me Alicization explored various new elements that weren't exactly there before in the franchise while retaining the fun & good qualities from previous entries. |

| I think a 5-cour-show or even a 6-cour would have been better if they try to adapt this arc...it contains 10 volumes unlike the previous 2 season which is 8 only and considering also the number of pages of the later volumes of this arc which is longer than the volumes of the first 8....
