Another mission for Dorothy...

It's interesting to note that her father appears in this episode during the mission. The episode itself shows Dorothy taking risks again to get the job done. She's such a brave girl imo.

Her past is not pleasant (tbh, I'm starting to think most of the background stories are far from bright).

Like the last episode... this is the story between one of the spy and her father. The ending was so sad, Dorothy didn't know that her father was killed and she is celebrating the sucess of her mission.

This is case 18 so I'm assuming that this is 2-cour.

At first my first impressive of Dorothy's father was that of a dick but he did had a good side. That ending was so sad. Dorothy enjoying the success of her mission while listing to her father's favourite song and not knowing he is dead. :( Their superior were quite harsh giving Dorothy this assignment knowing her father was involved in it.

Beatrice and Dorothy are getting along really well, since they pretty much went through similar suffering.

Excellent episode, I was really hoping we'd get a Dorothy centric episode sometime soon, I'm glad we got it.

They did a really good job at portraying the Dorothy's father's character, he was an envious, tempered, pathetic man broken by his accident but deep down he still had the heart of a father. Shame he was just a little too much on the greedy side eventually being murdered by the Duke's assistant.

I also really loved how they portrayed Dorothy's love-hate relationship with her father and towards the end it did seem like she was able to show compassion towards him as well.

The final scene of this episode was really bittersweet with Dorothy talk about her dad and the eventual merry singing in the pub contrasting with murder of the father. That part where a slightly drunk Dorothy tells herself that Dad's late is incredibly poignant. :((

They really know how to end episodes well. That song being sung by Beatrice with the voice changer was super well thought out and everyone in the pub joining in.

Also Dorothy might never get to know that her dad has died (unless maybe when confronted with the Duke or his woman).

He did everything for money, even doing this for the bad side just to help out his daughter (this thought really came up when he met her again and that greed for money to help her out ended up being his demise). Pretty sad end for this pathetic man.

This was nothing short of a tragedy

Not only did Dorothy's mother abandon her, but her senile dad completely lost himself and everything that he had in life and took it all out on her via abuse as a child

And just when you think that maybe she could at least patch things up with him and leave him on a good note despite the fact that he's still senile but caring enough to remember that he's her father first, that damn spy from the second episode ruined it

I had a feeling when he went to the church that he was going to die, but seeing him look so optimistic about getting things right with his life and his daughter, only to get betrayed and brutally killed in the end really hurt....Especially considering that Dorothy too was ready to get things right with her father

This was a great episode and it was nice to learn more about Dorothy and who she is inside but I just feel really bad for her right now :(

This was a really good episode. Got to know more about Dorothy. She's getting along well with Beatrice. Her father was a good sport, but after he got into an accident, he got abusive and drank a lot. She and her mother left him because of that. What a coincidence that for her mission, she would meet her father. He owed people money and it appeared he sold her out, but in reality, he really cared for her. Her fight was great. It's sad he got killed. The last scene was bittersweet.

So the episode focusing on Dorothy and Beatrice's teamwork more than Dorothy's problem or past with her father. After all, Dorothy is already beyond furious knowing her own father sell her out. But after some explanation, it's just a misunderstanding. But then when she really wait for her father at the promised place...

What an episode, we discover that Dorothy's real name is Daisy and we got to know more about his past.

That final scene with everyone singing was hard to digest, RIP dad.

I liked this episode though the dad was a complete dirt bag. He did earn some brownie points in the end but not enough for me to care for his death.

What I do care about is Dorothy's reaction to her father's death.. I already felt bad for her but I feel even worse now. Poor girl.

On the bright side, Dorothy may now have a revenge story line to her character. For some reason I'm drawn to this type of characterization despite seeing it a million times. So I'm looking forward on what Dorothy will do hereafter.

Case 18. I guess it's going to be a 2-cour or more. was interesting finding out Dorothy's real name is Daisy and that Dorothy is the name of her mother. her back story was cliched but still emotional. the last scene felt really sad as her father really seemed like he is willing to change and begin a new chapter in his life with his daughter but he ended up dying all while she was starting to forgive him and doesn't even know where he is or what happened to him. i wonder if they'll actually show her reaction to what happened (if she ever knows) and if it's going to be soon if they actually end up doing it

Case 18 this time. Quite personal and bittersweet episode. Dorothy's back story got more fleshed out and her real name was revealed. Overall a bit slow maybe and not as cohesive as the previous episodes.

SAD!
This is one of those times I must recognize an episode being good while it's fuggin sad at the same time.

Finally a Dorothy-Centered episode, shipping with Beatrice...
but, that ending, Dorothy (Daisy?) celebrating the success of her mission, waiting for her father to show up, not knowing the Duke's Assistant killed him.

She will belive her father finally got rich again and is living the good life somewhere..
SAD!!!!!

I felt like the father wouldn't live starting midway in the episode, turns out I was right...

To be fair, he really should have blabbed less about how he got what they wanted...Though even then, Normandy&co might not have let him live...

I didn't have a pun in mind but I was considering cracking a joke about how the dude has a daughter named Daisy and how the episode ended up with him pushing daisies...

Dorothy's real name is Daisy, and the 'Dorothy' name is that of her mothers who abandoned her and her father when she was a kid. Not only that, but her dad also beat her black and blue due to his uncontrollable emotions after his life-changing injury he got as an engineer as well. Her childhood was certainly sad and rough. D=

Although they did reunite in this episode, it wasn't on happy terms at all. Despite his failures, he still wanted to try and repair his relationship with her, but his greed sadly got the better of him and he was brutally killed.

The pub scene at the end was pretty hard to swallow. Beatrice changing her voice to start singing the song that Daisy likes got the whole pub singing along, which was pretty awesome, but then they showed the scenes of the father's last trip to the morque as a corpse and it felt painful watching that scene while listening to the song at the same time.

I just hope that she'll find wherever he gets buried so that she can say one last proper goodbye to him. D=

Since this was case 18, does that mean that this show is a 2-cour now? If so, then I'm happy with that. =)

A brutal episode this was, but it's probably my favourite one so far. Looking forward to the next case, whether its before or after this one. =D

This is adorable. Dorothy using her mother's name as an alias and always singing her father's song, I really hope she never has to find out that her dad died and how, but if she does, I hope that the Duke's lady gets nuked HARD for what she did. Don't bully poor Daisy.

I wonder why Beato though, I mean, Chise would have also been a good person to understand the daddy drama too, I mean the only thing left to uncover is the past relationship between Ange and Princess

Dorothy [Daisy]'s dad was a shitty old man, abused her when she was a child, constantly made a fool of himself in front of everyone with his drunkard acts, not to mention bullied Beato (wow, that definitely crossed the line). He was a fool who trusted the wrong people and I saw his fate coming from a mile away. But he tried to make amends in his own clumsy way. He might have had some tiny chance for redemption, if he was alive, but sadly, we'll never know. Poor Daisy ;_;

This anime was pretty solid so far, but after this episode, it's a serious contender for AOTS.

Huh. So Daisy (or "Dorothy") took her mother's name as her alias. Interesting.
Also noticed this is Case 18, so it could be that they're skipping over irrelevant cases and only showing the important ones. Or this could be 2-cour.

I mean, I doubt every single case they take is relevant to this.

Ugh, damn, had a feeling they were going to kill him off. He may have been an asshole, and as soon as he shows signs of wanting to start over with his daughter, he gets killed off. :(
That pub scene with Beatrice and all the other guys in the pub singing away was great though.

Oh damn I feel so sorry for Dorothy & her father.

He was a scumbag at first but then did everyone for her because he loved her form the bottom of his heart, and I thought things were about to be really good for them.

I did like that scene where Dorothy beat up those 3 dudes.

The Duke of Normandy seems to be the one pulling all the string in a lot of the episode.

I hope he eventually gets what he deserves.

can someone spoil for me please, does she will know that her father is dead?

for him being instantly put in carriage means they assume no one will claim him right ? or they didn't even want her to know because its all in Normandy's keikaku ? (TL : keikaku means plan )

erm it's an anime original, so no one but people actually working on the full scenario would know lol.

But I do believe she will know. Case #18 looks like a proper build-up to a climatic ending. imo they're putting this case here so that we can get to know Dorothy well, as they're telling the story in an SOL-esque episodic formula (to make sure we get to know the character well enough. Once it gets rough I don't think we would have time to do that.)

just as when Dorothy met with her drunk father...what a loss
I wonder if Dorothy would find out the truth....and what would she do if she found out that root reason about the death of her father...will she revolt against her own spy organization!?
