| Well he just got a surgery so of course it would take a longer time than just 2 weeks. Hopefully he recovers well. Also he should just get some assistants that do the drawing stuff and he can do the story. But he's probably too proud for that. |

I think he enjoys writing the story more than drawing it. I don't know if it's pride, trust or w/e but he really should get help with his manga. Hopefully this wont be a big hiatus, it looked to me like he already had this entire arc planned out to the smallest of details. So I am hopeful that he will comeback once he feels better. I wonder if this is the 'shocking revelation' the Jump editors had mentioned a while back...... |

| Well, I don't mind the hiatus, really. It's annoying, yes, but if you've been following HxH for almost 13 years you simply get used to it. As Nidhoeggr said, they gave an understandable reason this time, so that's enough for me to wait patiently. I am pretty pissed about all the Dragon Quest rumors that came up yet again, though. Pretty disrespectful when they consider back pain as nothing you should take a hiatus for. |

Well, some people are gullible to take those jokes as a fact, which ends up contributing to the bitching of the hiatus. The same thing also happens with Berserk. It's gets very annoying having to read these baseless comments every time there's an hiatus. Especially from entitled readers who read them from scanlations and never buy the manga in the first place. |

I really hope this is a short hiatus, I mean his only excuse is the back pain from surgery. Which of course is a legitimate and serious excuse, but once he gets better I don't see why he would continue the hiatus unless there's another reason behind this. I still think the best thing he could ever do for himself is to get a lot of assistants to help him with the art. |

That must be a lot of money. Why doesn't he just do Co. thing. Hires some good artists and he just writes the story. I mean... He is amazing! The stories he writes are absolutely amazing, but his art isn't that good. I think he should just focus on writing the story and give the art part to some good artist. I think that would boost his sales by tenfold. His story deserves a really good art. That would be the perfect thing for HxH... But, I'm just a leecher from a little known country so we don't even have Naruto manga translated here.. Anyways, I just wish he gets well soon!! |

The mangaka's work schedule is insane and Togashi is almost 50. If he couldn't keep up with it when he was young, he certainly can't do it now. :/ |

Yeah I've read this before. While I agree that Mangaka's are overworked and underpaid, his reasons for quitting YYH and always going on Hiatus with HxH stem from his stubbornness. I understand it's his manga, but I can't really feel bad for him when he complains about the workload but refuses to get help. I totally get where he's coming from with wanting to do things himself, because he feels nobody will be able to express his work better than he can. I get it. I just think he should learn to accept a helping hand. It's funny reading this, he reminded my of my Uncle. The guy is a perfectionist and a good person, but he is stubborn as an ox. Never accepts help from anyone and always wants to do everything himself. What has that brought him, nothing but misery. He works from 5 am to 3 am every day, micromanages everything in his distribution firm. Has an estranged relationship with his wife and kids, and his father treats him like garbage because all he cares about is his companies legacy. I hope Togashi can sort out his issues. I rather he ends the manga soon, then be a slave to his work. I don't want to see a great author like him deteriorate due to stress, or worse die. |

I agree, he should mind his fans more. He may be having stress issues and I totally undestand it and want him to get better, but he can't really complain if he refuses to hire assistants. I don't want him to wrap up the story quickly because we're like in the middle of the story. After all, after YYH he engaged in creating a different manga. If he already had issues why did he start it? |
| I can never understand why he never make Hunter x Hunter a monthly series instead of a weekly series if it was too stressing. That seems to be the best option. While I sympathize with his situation, i can't say i can fully accept his way when there are many other mangakas that does weekly series experiencing the exact same issues but they could still manage just release a chapter without any constant problems. Oh well but what can you do about it~? That's the way it is :S |

For me Togashi is still a stubborn and selfish asshole. His hiatuses didnt go on for weeks but for years. What has he been doing during that time? Stress out? Even for health issues, I am not sure what kind of problem would make him break for 2 years. Actually, if his poor health handicaps him so much, why did he start a new arc knowning he couldnt finish it? Something doesnt make sense here. |
