So I've been banned from MAL-Badges, after spending nearly two years of my time and dedication to helping out, being the club's spokesperson, and planning for the revamp, it all goes down the fucking drain. What a joke the club has become. I advise everyone to stop using the feature and stop showing their support for the site and the club. We were promised that we will see changes come to the site, and nothing's been done for the past year. I doubt the site will be touched for the foreseeable future. If you're angry and annoyed about the lack of development, then good, you should be. |

| I don't think the mean score is a reliable indicator of my favourites. It gives me a really strange top five, only adult cast and historical make sense here. 1 Showbiz (3 watched) 2 Award Winning (2 watched) 3 Historical 4 Adult Cast 5 Adventure Weighted score seems strange again, but at least there are three genres - historical, iyashikei and drama - that I count amongst my favouriets. I didn't know about that "adult cast" is considered a genre, but if it really is then I am fine with considering that among my favourites. 1 Historical 2 Adventure 3 Iyashikei 4 Drama 5 Adult Cast Still there is no sign of my real favourites like Slice of life or girls love, and the reason for that I guess is that I can be very harsh when I rate my favourite genres because I have higher expectations of them. That is why my median score of girls love is 5.44 for example. Slice of Life I agree with weighted more than with mean. I'm generally not a fan of small children in anime. There are exceptions, sure, but most of them are unbearable to watch. Award-winning doesn't say anything about the type of content, just that it won an award. Weighted I agree with all apart from school but since school occurs so frequently it wins by being consistently present. Naturally there'll be a few I like. I'm disappointed magical girl moved out of my top 10 but I watched a few bad ones which really dragged down the score for it. |

It's rare to find anime that has an all adult cast or ones that have a Psychological premise. Going by raw mean score doesn't make sense because there are a handful of anime I rated high between different genres. |

Action (1413 shows) Not much has changed in the weighted rankings for me, which shows the limitations of the weighted score when there's just some genres/themes that have so many shows that nothing can really compare when it comes to weighted scores where the amount of shows watched is such a big factor. But the not weighted rankings have been completely changed, and I like it. |

| I'm genuinely curious as to how weighted is calculated. I'm sure it has something to do with the avg score of the genre on MAL, the user's avg rating, and how many of them the user has seen, but it's still a mystery to me.
