I was always good at math but got absolutely destroyed by probability theory. I really hoped my math professor wouldn’t make me take the test on it but unfortunately she did. Somehow I passed it although I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. That’s the power of me being stressed.
The other thing I always sucked at was writing essays. I despised literature classes because every time we started a new book - I knew I’d have to write an essay on it. Hate it, should be illegal in every country.
What else... Probably philosophy. I find it extremely boring (except for Russian religious philosophy and maybe existentialism). Although I did pass my exam with the highest score possible. Some would say because I was banging my philosophy professor but that’s a total lie and I’d totally sue them for defamation.

Mathematics have always been the bane of my existence. History and Geography is where it's at. The latter two I excelled at due to my ability to process and memorize ridiculous amounts of information. Interesting information obviously.

I can relate when it comes to P.E. My teacher always told me that I'm athletic but just far too lazy. Art was probably one of my favorite subjects.

Subjects I was bad at hmm, I suppose mathematics at times? Don't get me wrong there were mathematical topics I actually really liked but stuff like geometry was my weak spot e.g.

P.E was only cool when you skipped class as a group, and play wrestling with tables and chairs in an empty classroom. The funniest thing was that one time, a kid was so enraged he took a bunch of class chairs and threw it into the property next door, and swore at the owner for 10 minutes. We almost got expelled. Almost.

Art was horrible. I dislike anything I'm not good at from the beginning. So yeah, I just refused to do assignments altogether. Don't ask how I passed.

Dude that sounds hilarious except for that almost getting expelled thing. Unfortunately our sports hall was seperated from school so there was no way we could've wrestled with a bunch of tables and chairs haha. The only time I really enjoyed P.E. was during "Völkerball" which is similiar to dodgeball, I didn't catch a single ball as I was too busy dodging and my teacher got so tired of it as I was the last one on the field and they couldn't hit me for shit so we ended it lol.

You know this kind of reminds me of my brother, he hated music lessons and it was his turn to sing, so he came up with an excuse as tho why he wasn't allowed to sing, still passed lol. Like I said art was pretty okay for me as I've always liked drawing etc. tho during an art exam we had to write an essay on and I just refused to study so I just "cheated" and the teacher didn't notice at all.

@deg Lol, did you forget Ramanujan, Varadhan, Mirzakhani and Birkar? There was even a movie about Ramanujan recently (The Man Who Knew Infinity).

In P.E., swimming. Just the smell of chlorine was a huge turn off.

I hated biology and its dumb "experimental protocols" we had to write during exams. As if it was any realistic to know what to do in research! You just had to learn everything by heart: no possibility whatsoever to think. And we had to dissects mice and frogs in middle school too; I never saw the point of having 12-year-old kids butchering mice, and I only remember the smell of formaldehyde. Not sure that it helped much.

I even told my biology professor once: "Biology is useless anyway." and she replied "It's useful to graduate!" Touché. At least, it made me study my biology.

Maybe history because I can't recall exact dates well and if it's a time and place I am not into I just won't remember. Some topics of science as well because if I am not into it I just won't remember. I had a little difficulty with ceramics using a potters wheel but I still made some decent looking things. I used to have trouble with maths but then I started doing well later. Spanish I didn't do good but it for some reason isn't as appealing to me as other languages. The singularity of some words with English words almost makes it harder to remember. So it's not so much the topic that matters just my level of interest and experience.

I always excelled academically, but for some reason, physics never clicked with me. At least the class I took sure didn't. It was like trying to learn hieroglyphs, lol.

Bummer, 'cause it is a science and I do have an interest in it (not as strong as say astronomy, but it's there) so now I just have rudimentary knowledge on it since learning it on my own time, but I'm fine with that

Math. I really don't understand why everyone has to learn the same math up to a certain point in high school if you flat out suck at it. People who plan on going into math and sciences should learn the regular math, and people who have no plans or desire to pursue it, should take the math course where it's real world math. Took that in 11th grade cause we could actually choose at that point, and got an A. Why; cause it's easier, and it's more useful. I don't know if things are different now. Also, making people take courses where they're bad at in either high school and college doesn't make you more "well rounded" as colleges justify it as in getting students to have required courses among different subjects. It's just pointless and useless because once you get your barely passable grade you forget everything you learned from that class. Should be a Focus on your strengths and you can become more rounded in those subjects.

Suck: Math.

I think if I put more effort, I might be able to do it just fine, but the problem is, I find it super boring and useless subject.

I prefer science. Much much better. It might be hard, but it's actually interesting and full of wonder.

But nothing bores me more than history.

Physics, chemistry, and biology. Basically natural studies.

I love social studies and was sure that those subjects above are a waste of time so I used to arrive early at school to copy homework with my comrades. There were several times I forgot or arrived late, so I sneaked up to the teacher's office, borrow one and return it later. I even asked one teacher there to pinpoint the office in order to not appear suspicious. It's a miracle I passed.

I think history is a great subject but the way it is being taught in most schools around the world isn't right. They often focus too much on mindless memorization of things that can be found in less than 2 sec using google. I wouldn't say remembering the exact dates is important as long as you know the correct chronological order of major events and have general understanding of the period in which they happened.

I'm studying abroad so things are different now. I'm quite confident to say currently I don't suck at any subjects. I can perform them equally ok, with the exception of the better-performed math and philosophy.

Back in my country, we have this systematic propaganda from elementary to high school, and we would have to study a bunch of philosophical ideas that do some service for the government. The thing is, these ideas are not easy, and we never get to study from the basis. I fucking suck at that and I hate it so fucking much too. It's not even called "philosophy" but some weird outdated shit.

Also, literature sucks in my country. We would often have to adhere to all the "sole truths" that the teachers utter. Basically, when an exam comes, all you need is to learn by heart every single goddamn thing the teacher told you. Fuck, those years of studying truly suck. A lot of the students were good at this, but I get easily bored so learning sth by heart was not my cup of tea.

Wow, so many people hating math, I suck at math too but I still like it, it's interesting.

When I was in school I hated history, civics and economics. The first 2 was simply memorizing a writing down long assed answers in exams word-for-word as they were printed in the text-book. I don't remember even a single date from history neither any of those laws or acts from civics. Economics is something I never understood.

Later in college I hated Biology with a passion - mainly because my parents forced me to take the subject and added to it I couldn't handle the discretion in Zoology. This subject has fucked me up for life, I cannot apply for jobs at bigger companies because I scored badly in it during 12th but at this point I don't hate it anymore I just still suck at it lol. All science subjects are great.

Time Management.
No but for real I'd have to say informatics and Biomath.
(Info basically Word /PowerPoint for what to do when we're writing our thesis 3-4 years later
and Biomath we were taught how to use certain programs for statistics and research and how to put in the data of our patients)

Two completely IRRELEVANT subjects I had in my course for first year.
I struggled cause everything was on Windows and I had a mac for over 9 years and I couldn't get behind Windows etc. (sounds so dumb I know but I also really didn't care about any of it)

Other than that no subjects really, I'd maybe say US Government cause I didn't enjoy it and it was a very boring course so I didn't bother studying. And even tho German is my mother Language, I stopped having it as a course from 7th Grade on, so I guess maybe that cause I'm struggling with it now sometime.

I think that's it tho, I only really sucked at a subject if I didn't think it was interesting enough or too easy and didn't bother with it.

math.

It never clicked for me. Even in the very begging when it was just addition- my brain was like "huh what no go back."

If you wanna be really specific, geometry. I would rather jump off the top of my house than sit down for an hour of geometry homework. I literally cannot- I had an extra year to learn about it earlier than all my classmates- and so you'd think i'd be good since I had a whole extra year of experience.

I was the worst in my class.
and it's really fun when I obviously have 0 clue how to do anything, and the teacher doesn't bother to be like "oh yeah you got 0 QUESTION RIGHT ON THE QUIZ- but I think you got it."

yes- I'm velveties and I got 0 questions correct on a 15 question quiz about geometry. Luckily, it wasn't being graded or anything.
Idk if they never helped me because I was good at all the other subjects- but still getting 0 on a 15 question quiz should indicate that a student needs help

In the US history is US centric. Everything is about the US and the foundations of the Western world and civilization with exception to ancient China which is a small footnote. Also ancient Egypt was a decent sized topic but oddly enough they didn't teach much about it. Most history I know I learned myself from tv and the internet. They also taught a lot of false information. Fake story about George Washington cutting down a cherry tree. Fake version of Thanksgiving. They told us slaves built the pyramids of Egypt. Hell I learn more interesting stuff watching a show called Drunk History than I did in any history class. And yeah they expect names and dates. I also had to in middle school memorize the preamble word for word and it's like half a page long.
