----------------------------------------
Another day at the job for Doctor Glenn and his lamia assistant Sapphee, and this time: a mermaid that refuses to be underwater, just to make a living.

To the point of inflammation though, that is not exactly good for a mermaid with a soothing voice.

But for mermaid Lulala, her desperation in living, Glenn and Sapphee really have it hard ion keeping her basically alive.

Well, this operation is just gonna keep going.

The weakness of mermaids is the gills, no one realizes that Lulala drowned in the river, the real supporting chara. At least Lulala gotten a kiss from Glenn. I think the legend about mermaid singing just a bullshit, at least Lulala was a diva.

Another nice episode.
Lulala needing help despite not knowing it, or just being stuborn is probably something many doctors are fimiliar with.
In her case it was money but somethimes people just don't go to the doctor when they have problems which often makes things worse by the time they finally do go.

Anyway she was a nice girl going that for to help out the boy.
My only question would be why the song was in English.

Mermaid cases about inflammation in her respiratory system. Wow. I can't believed, i got some nice information about mermaid's anatomy. As expected as medical theme, i kinda interesting with their effort to be accurate. Idk about the mermaid respiratory system like what. But, yeah, its kinda logic with Glenn's explanations about her cough.

The plot kinda exaggerating with the random rescue incident. Whatever. Its still nice to seen this kind of theme, by enjoying a medical check of every monster girls body. Lmao.

I really enjoyed this episode week! Finally we got what it, actually, be a decent staring anime of the season. This episode had a more fair flow, mainly considering the activities of the doctor. We could also see more about his personality, even his past. The character field in this one was easiest to follow and, I really was fascinate with the protagonist doing the diagnostic for the mermaid. Lulala's physiology as a mermaid was quite a thing... mixing lung breathing and branchial breathing, how creative! And the treatment method of it... the way that the doctor grasp the case and caution preserved by him is admirable. Somehow, he also managed to be kind which, these days, been kind of hard, even before the pandemic. At any rate, that was real start, or so I'd like to say. I hope even more for the next ones.

the back story between Glenn and Saphee was sad and heartwarming. Glenn is a good doctor and is easily building a unwanted harem and this new member is much better liked and the centaur.

Not as bad as the first episode. Although the show still isn't clicking for me I guess. I feel like all the girls so far are lacking depth in their personalities. They just have one base trait and then they all get easily flustered and that's that. Also the doctor acts like a robot half the time. He barely even reacts to whats happening.

Also I've never been more uncomfortable watching an ecchi scene. The gill thing just ended up feeling awkward.

Lulala was super cute, and her voice and voice acting top tier.
The song being in english and the "genre" were kinda strange. Even though I didn't like it, I think it was high quality.
The OST seems pretty decent as well.

I have to give Saphee a point this episode, even as a doctor you should not ask to examine a girl's chest.
The thing about mermaids drowning, just seems off. Taking a breath is natural in humans, it would follow that a mermaid's switching from mouth to gills is unconscious too (the body senses water in the system and naturally uses the gills)
Fingering her gills' was blatent ecchi and didn't serve any purpose

Maybe it was only because I found Lulala's personality more endearing than Tisalia's but overall, this episode was more decent than the first one. It still leaves a lot to be desire in the ecchi aspect tho. Especially since that "gills fingering" scene felt more weird than anything else.

P.S.: Oh? So this show has an Arachne character as well, uh? Curiosity increasing*

Interesting that they changed what happened compared to LN. The mother and child were also in a gondola so it was impossible for the mermen to save the child as the gondola would be swept away by the strong current. It is difficult to control gondolas in that area.

I felt that this episode was better than the first one because we a get a backstory on the good doctor Glenn and Saphee. In this episode they treat a young mermaid with breathing issues due to being on land for a long period of time.

Despite all that I do feel like the story is lacking plot to move this series forward, but lets see what happens in the next couple of episodes.

Sapphee and Glenn's backstory was quite nice. So they knew each other from childhood.

Lulala's a major cutie with a great singing voice and she's tanned to boot. I already like her.

Also I like how it was explained that the mermaids here can live in both land and water due to having both lungs and gils.

I think there is logic in about mermaids drowning.
Like you said, for them it is natural to switch between lungs and gills, but I think you used wrong comparison it wouldn't be like breathing for humans but more like switching between breathing thru mouth and nose for humans, it also more natural to breath thru nose but there are situation when you unconsciously begin to breathe through your mouth and you start feel the effects of that pretty quickly.
Manga recommendation:

- MARRIAGETOXIN (Ch.110/? - weekly) | Machi and Oboro (Ch.17/? - biweekly)

To add..
It's difficult to breathe through your nose is it's clogged up with thick snot(mucus).

You naturally breathe out (usually through the nose) and the only time thought enters the picture is when you breathe out through the mouth (that's why I can't snorkel) breathing in and out is natural and the gills are part of that only to expel water, the body naturally reacts to water in the lungs

People with little or no romantic experience are very fond of these love interests because they embody the safe fantasy that someone will be “friendly” with them without any effort. Your psychologist-kun. Ecchi especially loves this, as it is a fetish and in general frequent material for such an audience.

Portraying it in such a roundabout way wasn't necessary, not to say silly.

Another meh episode.

Personally, I got the impression that I had watched an episode about how the Doctor and Lamia bought an innocent young prostitute, after which the Doctor taught her to stimulate sensitive parts of the body. VA and production have done more for this than any of the homoerotic subtext in the Manga Time Kirara show.

Unfunny humor and ecchi instead story, characterisation and world building is reaeson why I dropped MonMusu manga. I like ecchi, but original MonMusu would be better if it was full hentai as hentai can be trash and noone care as long as it's hot.

That's also why this is better.

Lel so in the novel it's said that Lulala sings in an old language more or less unspoken these days. Kind of a meme that they went with English but it makes more sense than Japanese given the context. Overall pretty good adaptation of the second chapter.

Looks like I wasn't wrong expecting that the show will look awful. Sadly the visuals are really low quality. I'm really thinking skipping this for now and look back when the BD is out. Though recently it doesn't seem like shows receive any improvements over the broadcast version. They used to be fixed up at least, but for a while now they stay unfinished. Does the industry really that short on money?

I was kinda wondering why Sapphee wore those dark silky clothes. Didn't notice she was an albino so that's a nice little detail.

It was really neat to learn about how mermaids actually breathe on both land and in the water. So they breathe through both their mouth and gills as necessary. That was really neat to see the doctor pick up on the obscure knowledge that even mermaids can drown if they breathe through the wrong way at the wrong time.

In the beginning we learnt about dr. Glenn and Sapphe's past. How they came to know each other. How dr. Glenn became a doctor specializes in monsters. There are some history of the war as well, explaining about Sapphe's role as an agreement hostage.

Next is.... dr. Glenn and Sapphe's date behind the pretext of supply restocking. Aww.. ain't that cute? Window shopping and admiring quality wares, Sapphe's charm is prominent in this episode.

Meeting Lulala, a busker stationed near the so called "love bridge". She's quite charismatic, looking how she persuade the doctor and Sapphe to use her service. On the other hand, dr. Glenn looked interested in her, offering a medical examination in the cost of Sapphe's singing.

I gotta admit, it's so fascinating, how they incorporate real human science with the fantasy creature science, which is mermaid's in this case. I had a clear imagination on how the mermaid breath both underwater and in the air. Putting the gill in the torso near the lungs is quite smart, I gotta say.

And the water rescue scene is... clever... I think. A well done scenario, between a scientific rescue and hot kissing. The doctor decided to get Lulala back, going as far as sacrificing himself to reactivate Lulala's gill system in the cost of his own respiratory air. That's reckless but quite heroic. Thanks to Sapphe's tail grab, both the doctor and Lulala are saved.

There are still so many things I want to say about this episode. It's all so fascinating.
